  1. can we please make hammer more fun to use in pve? it feels awful and plays awful. the AA is weird but i think it's fine since rev already lacks ranged weapons outside of renegade. honestly hammer for the heavy class just lack any polish.
  2. hey ya'll i enjoy reaper in endgame pve content, and imo, the biggest things i'd personally want for it in pve - they need to buff axe, give reaper a reason to liberally use axe more often without feeling like its a big dps loss, lots of bosses hop around alot, or go out of melee range. buff axe 3 as well. buff off-hand options as well. give reaper shroud more damage mitigation from skill 3, just straight up buff that skill. the stability on it is nice but it needs more. make the self-application of chill on foes generate extra life force (now that they're going to buff chilling nova) buff reaper shroud skill 2, it's a fun skill. needs more. reaper does very well in fights with ads, but needs improved single target dps and steady crit chance. i believe if we improve reaper ranged option, mitigation option in shroud, and life force generation outside shroud we'll get something cool.
  3. Make the 3 orders of tyria more significant and give them side content related to their order, and possibly own storylines. maybe some new story content or side stuff can be added to the orders. finally give us ranks within the order, where we can can kind of rank up in, and maybe display our order rank on our names. the orders of tyria are really cool, and like ffxiv i can see a lot of potential in it.
  4. in my book the best start is ensuring a decent second power option for necromancer class in general, they could make off hand and one handed power weapons like axe do more dmg and be more useful aside from skill 2, and vulnerability on AA. i'm only speaking of these changes geared towards end-game content. reapers often are punished for switching out of GS into an axe 2, there will be uncomfortable moments where your axe is just.. there hanging around, so let's make it less of a penalty to switch to axe and make it stronger so reapers have a decent way of maintaining dps instead of camping greatsword. weapon swapping is healthy, according to anet balance philosophy right? mainhand/offhand dagger could also use a bit of work-on. this power change to pve reaper, can also help core necro for newer players or players who just kind of want to play core, power harb and power scourge even tho for those two it's a meme in end-game, but at least you buff reaper and open up more paths for other alternatives. we need to give players more buildcraft freedom (as long as they work). additionally i think they should give reaper some more crit chance as well, and more access to it solo, we could really use it. finally reaper's whole shtick is we do great cleave dps, but we're not the only ones capable of it. in many cases, bosses are single target with rarely any adds, what we need is most importantly a true buff for reaper to do good dps on single targets. everyone can easily kill trash mobs in gw2 because almost everything is a cleave anyways, reaper's whole cleave shtick is just really dumb, single target enemies happen so frequently, reaper should be given some kind of trait does increased damage to isolated foes (enemies that aren't within x range of another) or something.. or whatever makes more sense. great cleave + increased dmg to single target isolated enemies = will put reaper back into a good benchmark for a selfish dps class.
  5. i can bench only around 29.25 on reaper, the most i've seen however thus far is 29.5. too busy to test out all of them to the precise level but i did spend a lot of time testing ranger runes, scholar runes, and thief runes. so far thief runes is giving me highest bench. i'm not really adept into the math, and of proficient theory crafting so i'll keep going until i can probably hit 30k.
  6. on the average of 31-34k? that's insanity lol, are you averaging in the power boon support classes lol? i'd like you to name full dps spec builds in this equation. as far as i am currently aware if you're looking at many of the other power dps classes they bench past 34k to the 40k range. like quickscrapper and bs are offering team support on top of their dps. reaper provides nothing in a meta, no barrier, no boons - that revolves around classes bringing boons in their role compressed builds. not even, regen or prot lol. the most they have is a boon corrupt in raids that barely gives any boons to corrupt lol, even then just play scourge. there's a reason why it's highly uncommon for a reaper to be top dps in any raids ever, even in stuff like KC. luckily though the scene is not so as toxic as to throw away reapers (it's not in the shitter yet but it may as well be), because many other classes can offer far more dps + boon generation even when it comes to might, fury, prot, regen, vigor share. the only reason this spec isn't dead is because of the fans of the reaper archetype enjoyers. i can't imagine anyone playing reaper specifically for high end content (because alot of it is single target dps based), it makes sense in open world and more mid tier content though where reapers are good at grinding up trashy forgettable mobs.
  7. reaper dps is fine in open world, the problem is high end content. reaper dps falls flat unless you're really good. even then, you're not beating a really good x class especially if they're condi. chances are they already bench far more dps than your 32k, and you don't even offer buffs, quickness, or alacrity. have a look at other classes and what they can do + their dps. the fact that you're completely forgetting this aspect is problematic. reaper is playable, it's definitely not unplayable, but compared to other classes especially in terms of dps this class should be doing way more especially towards single targets.
  8. well, if you guys are still looking for a casual-hardcore chill guild to do stuff with. the small guild we have is trying to do t4s and raids. feel free to send me a mail, and ask me any questions. I can extend an invitation.
  9. all classes & race. the "fused shoulder" have a specific dye channel where the glow part is dyeable. there is a bug or long standing issue with the "fused guantlets" where the glow part is not dyeable despite there CLEARLY existing a dye channel for it. this should be fixed to synergize well with the new fused shoulders.
  10. i made a build for you, this requires reaper. if you want to see an army of minions, this is it. this is my favorite minion meme build. you want the ogre rune as discount scholar rune and more importantly for one more rock dog/minion. you're free to switch deadly strength for necromantic corruption, deadly strength is better overall for yourself because it also provides power per carapace stack. this build gives good toughness as long as you maintain most of your minions. always want to be using the shout skill to maintain the shambled horrors. http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PSwEE6MssAWFjhNxGxT1qsVD-zRIYRUzXG1WBVkCmNA-e
  11. I like your guild name, if you guys are NA and still recruiting then I'm interested in joining. my tag is my username.
  12. Ok so I know ANET has been releasing banger after banger with these warclaw skins, i really like them, and i'm sure alot of people do. The problem is the fact that we only really just use it in wvw, and hardly in pve. I think they should include warclaw in PvE more, making it where warclaw move slower than raptor normally but move faster than raptor on rough terrain like steep hills (something raptors and beetles aren't good at) it'll be good for running through steep hills, additionally give warclaw a momentary superspeed skill. Would be a fun addition!
  13. i'd love to join but i'm too broke and already wasted my free transfer to this now dead guild in devonas rest (sincerely old ebay player)
  14. completely reinstall the entire game, and try disabling your antivirus to see if that fixes anything during the download. see if your internet is stable, it sounds more like a client-side problem than it is with the game, most people including me had no problem downloading it. if you're using windows it could also be due to a bad flow of packets, which you can try adjusting in the sharing center from your control panel.
  15. correct, but i'm pretty sure assassin in this upcomming xpac might be getting a off hand sword instead
  16. i want four things fishing in the jade sea, and all of tyria (region based fish collection) underarmor/garments gear, 6 new pieces of gear to go out and grind for, located on the right side of the character equipment opposite of your 6 main pieces of gear player inspection, you can bring up a preview or window of the person your right click and inspect (which will show some of the basic stats) but it won't list the gear new weapon gauntlets or brass knuckles, we need more fisting action ; )
  17. no, basically - new thief elite spec - introducing assassinweapon of choice - main hand daggerassassin set of main hand dagger skills =/= core thief set of main hand dagger skills (this along with the dual wield skill)old weapon, new skills and i'm not asking for every class to use a pre-existing weapon as a new template for a new set of skillsmaybe along with assassin using daggers we'll get new warrior elite spec - spearmanweapon of choice - staff (as a spear)new weapon, new skills. that's all i am implying.
  18. It's not like, if you play a thief you can't use DD, but other players clearly don't play Thief to just do max dmg. Some like to cc, buff allies, or simply enjoy being creative. Plus your scope of what classes can do is more limited than the current game. I recall playing D&D 3rd edition and they even made it possible for classes to non-traditional class based weapons, if you could justify it with the expansions. So I guess you don't like mesmers or reapers using Great Swords? I really do like how each profession uses each weapons differently, and to how each specialization and elite specialization pushes towards different themes of the profession is really nice. krz made a pretty relevant example even if they didn't intend to. ok so with the weapons that thief profession could have.. hammer, shield, mace ... tell me what exactly could professions for example like *suppose they added an elite spec called assassin or ninja (hypotheticals for the sake of argument) use? would it not make sense for assassins or ninjas to use daggers, pistols, or swords? see the problem with that is the fact that the weapons are already present, why not change the way they are played? obviously you're still releasing a whole new branch of spec traits and utility skill. all you're really changing is the selection of weapons, this makes it easier for anet to pump out new types of elite specs with a lot more ease and create more build diversity. a plethora of other games do it already. you speak of balance, but balance is not foreign as a concept, when a developer works with elite specs, its expected that they at least test and balance this, when you mention about "balance" that literally applies for everything anet has ever released and tested, and run through with patches/updates.additionally, a changeup on ranger shortbow and longbow would be a good idea as well based on elite spec, some people like shortbow but don't like that it's condi focused, so why not release an elite spec that changes up how shortbow works? as i mentioned already, many other mmos or games employ this strat, it's not new at all.
  19. For a QoL change i would love if you guys made it where when we decide to prioritize a certain achievement for achievement hunting, that it wouldn't replace the dailies on the top right corner of UI but perhaps make a drop down menu or like slide show where we can view all the types of dailies, achievements, and objectives perhaps. it's frustrating having to go back to achievements just to look at the dailies! and it's also annoying when there's like a bunch of events that clog up the right side of my screen! p.salso please give the eternity greatsword an option for permanent day or permanent night form.
  20. So you want to use current weapons differently due to being and elite spec? That's a lot more work for Devs. How would you even balance that? it would be interesting, but you're making a suggestive statement that devs being worked harder than normal is not a good idea. if you want to create something special, it always requires effort. regarding your second question, they'd balance the new set of skills of the same weapon just like how they do it with any other weapon skill/ utility skill/ build specs if you ask me. appreciate all the thoughts though :)
  21. You are not forced to use the weapon that comes with the spec. i know how you're picking up on my comment but that's absolutely not what i meant, my statement is not that i dislike the weapon or that we were forced to use it - as in matter of fact it's encouraged for players to try out new things or customize and tinker their build to their liking. it's the fact that instead of forcing themselves (the devs) to design skills around a completely new weapon for classes like ranger, rev, war etc they can instead simply change up the weapon skills of an already available weapon to the class.
  22. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Design-a-Weapon_Contest maybe, but it'll happen ever so rarely.
  23. i thought about this, with both sides in mind. the conclusion: yes i know that for a fact because if that happens a lot of people who initially quit gw2 will want to start playing gw2 again because they see it on steam, and WILL want to log in through steam. where else would they be? i know a large portion of people who spend most of their time on steam, so logging in from a place of familiarity to a distant account that they're familiar with which holds their primary email and password would be completely beneficial to everyone, such as veteran players, returning players or people who quit after a few days, and fresh faces. new people get to try it out and message through steam with their buds with ease, see who is playing gw2 - link up, this is the time where you can increase sociability.
  24. or they can change up the skills of the same weapon based on elite specialization build. i don't like to be forced to use a different weapon because of a different xpac. why can't the ranger longbow or shortbow skills be changed because of an elite spec. point is, they don't need to force new weapons out to the point where things can get bizzare like rifle necromancer, just change up the staff skills... and i know for a fact a lot of necro players would love to be able to use staff cause of its RP-ishness
