  1. Hi! I bought GW2 for the first time back when it was released but I've been recently returning to it after being dissatisifed with WoW. In WoW, I mostly play high M+ keys and mythic raids - For GW2, the analogy would be Fractals and, well, regular Raids. The first character I have been leveling up is a thief because I like the idea of staff melee combat. However, I just did my first dungeon - AC - and I felt so useless. I didn't feel like I was able to bring anything to the group - at least, nothing that we were utilising. For example, we were not stacking Might, or using stealth skips. I can't pick up Daredevil just yet because I'm not level 80 (Currently 70). Of course, I'm new, and I can't run the most 'meta' build for dungeons for Thief just yet, but I'm getting the feeling that I may have picked the wrong profession if my interest is in doing damage and providing strong in-combat group support to the group. Would that be an accurate assessment? It is entirely possible that most of the feeling of helplessness is down to a combination of not knowing how to play the spec, not having the right stats/weapons, and not knowing the dungeons. This is just my gut feeling when looking at the things that core Thief brings - it seems to mostly be stealth, , some venoms, limited condi removal with signet and breakbar support with Basilik Venom + Pistol4. I'm mostly looking at potentially going Guardian instead, but the thought of having to level a Guardian up to where I am now on Thief is a bit daunting, just to hope that maybe it's more useful/my style. On a related note, having so much of a profession playstyle - the elite specs - locked at level 80 feels very discouraging for newer players. Why do I have to wait 80 levels to try the specialisations I might (or might not!) enjoy in dungeons/overworld content? 😞 EDIT: also, I've yet to find a group of people to really play with, so if anyone is welcoming to new players, particularly WoW refugees, I'd really appreciate a reach out
