  1. That might be true, but that fomo was created by Anet’s marketing.
  2. Your perfectly cooked meal was way too spicy to the guests it was offered to. The heat level was turned down, but some still think it’s too spicy. It would be reasonable to ask people to sample first before deciding it’s still too spicey, though.
  3. If games can’t cater to specific needs it would follow logically to cater to the majority. The hardcore crowd is the minority, so make everything playable for casuals then? It’s obviously not true. Games try to cater as many players as possible, sometimes including color blind modes and alternate control schemes for the disabled.
  4. Makes unverifiable claims about other players, accuses others of ‘bad faith’ Ok then.
  5. Could you please point me to the promotional material saying that the turtle is useless or boring? I missed it. I remember it being hyped up as a major feature, including a beta that gave instant access to it, and an interview in PC Gamer stating that it would be on par with getting the roller beetle.
  6. Posting an update stating that the players have been heard and they're currently considering what to do takes no effort. They employ people to do so (hi, Rubi!), but they're going classic Anet and don't communicate at all during a player 'crisis'. They've been through enough, they should have learned by now that not responding quickly always leads to more negativity. The lack of response is now tainting the release of an expac that's needed for the game to survive. Considering that NC Soft scrapped the other projects under development (as far as I know) that seems to be a poor choice.
  7. They have analytics to tell them how long people are playing. They are just slow to react. Remember the massive uproar when they released HoT without an additional character slot for Revenant? They didn't respond, while the forums went up in flames over the weekend before finally fixing it. They don't take player dissatisfaction seriously. Heading home at five seems to be more of a priority.
  8. Your comment is neither constructive nor appropriate. They've already said they're addressing it by playing something else. Something that should concern you, if you care about the health of this game.
  9. Most games aren't MMOs catering to a broad audience. Most games have difficulty settings. MMOs have always catered to the lowest common denominator, from difficulty to hardware. It's what's most profitable. There is nothing gained by excluding casual players.
  10. I went with Necromancer runes. +300 condi damage and extra vitality to offset the class mechanic, while being very cheap.
  11. Hi Vex, I really appreciate your effort, but I won't be joining you. To do so would send the wrong signal to Anet, and reinforces the idea that exclusionary content in an open world setting is ok. Might join you after they take the appropriate steps to make the meta doable for all skill levels, and not be dependent on the effort of a driven few. If Anet doesn't, then in a few month's time when the hardcore crowd has moved on to the next hard content any new players coming to the map will be royally screwed. and Anet won't care at that point. They focus on the most recent content.
  12. Egg stripped. You are left with a meta that's the culmination of 10 years of Dragon story, as stated by Rubi. The game doesn't directly ask for KP, as you say, people do. Why do people do this? Because the design makes it optimal to do so. In an open world meta. The Chak Gerent had similar problems, as you say, and got nerfed quickly. It still fails at times. I don't think you're bringing the issue down to it's simplest form. I think you're committing a reductio ad absurdum.
  13. That’s not the contrary. Your post clearly disregards the other issues. Not getting the egg (you do not get the mount on event completion) is a consequence of the meta being considered unfair/too hard/determined by RNG. The first thing that hits people is:’this isn’t fun/unfair/wasting my time. Not getting the egg compounding the impact of that. That might come across as ‘I want my mount’, and might even be that in many cases but you frame it in a belittling manner that ignores the other factors.
  14. Really. I thought the point of games was to have fun? Maybe you could educate me on the error of my ways?
  15. I like how you blithely disregard the RNG destroying people’s fun, or the level of preparation required which isn’t a possibilty for everyone. Just so you can tar everyone wih the ‘you’re all infantile’ brush.
  16. “Top tier players clear this regularly, so there’s no issue. It’s on you for not being a top tier player.”
  17. “The Jade Sea meta was designed to be the ultimate open world finale, an epic conclusion to the 10-year Elder Dragon story arc. To accomplish this, we challenged our own conventions for creating open world content to provide an encounter unlike anything ever seen before in Guild Wars 2. As such, the encounter was designed from the start to be challenging, with RNG so random that it will likely cripple your attempt to clear it. We hope to exclude the majority from concluding this 10-year finale!” Fixed that for you.
  18. 'Kick' qualifies for 'Warrior's Sprint' as a movement skill, but does not proc swift as the wind'. Tested on random mobs in Bjora Marches,
  19. currently yeah, But I'll add you in game and we'll hit you up when CD opens up.
  20. Since most of the Norn's name are Frisian, it's probably a misspelling of Wiebe (Pronounce Wee-buh), a common Frisian male name.
  21. I think you are setting yourself up for disappointment by restricting yourself to one main. You demand a lot and expect one class to deliver it all, while they all have their weaknesses. Moreover, one balance patch can change the whole ballgame. Find a good build for each gametype you are interested in, and set up a toon for that. You already did the groundwork by levelling each class. You can probably restrict yourself to two or three toons, while fullfilling most of your demands and partially inoculating yourself from balance chances by having choices. Good luck.
  22. Please note that auto repair only works on spawn waypoints, not Keep waypoints.
  23. You can also opt for animated weapons summons by going Guard. I thought I’d better make your choice more complicated. ?
