  1. I think we also need to just consider the size of the zone we are shown and the amount that we have explored so far. Looking at the map, we can see there is much more to come, and still room for the story to cover more.
  2. I feel I am a new player in the category of players who have little experience in learning the harder content while it was relevant and new. I signed up for the pre launch/beta of GW2 and played on and off for years. I never logged into Living world content and missed it all. In 2017 or 2018 I logged in and started a new ranger and played the story all the way through. I then purchased HoT and PoT in an expansion sell in 2019-2020 or so. When I first enter PoF, following recommendations, I got my raptor. I explored the open world and found having a Mount was fun. So I decide to enter HoT and found a whole new game to play. I had to actually use heals, dodge, stuns, and breakbar skills to live. I shortly after moved to PoF and fond more complex fights. This all taught me to be a liveable casual. I was able to make a set of ascended gear to use on the ranger before EoD launch. I did the first 3 strikes with no problem before EoD. Never touched a raid and only got to T2 fractals. Entering EoD I am still a noob and stumbled thru a few of the fights. I decided to play my thief not knowing I could use that ascended gear on the thief. I pushed thru all the content in rare gear just fine. The skill step up from PoF to EoD was minimal. I don't think there is any skills that you will have to face that you have not already picked up to this point in the game. I've never played the optimal build, just the one I like. I completed the entire story in a sub optimal build. I've attempted the final meta and we got very close, in the first week. Many nerfs and adjustments have been made since on Anets side. In the end, you can so buy EoD, have fun, get HP points, MP points, finish the story and get everything you may need. Are there a few locked things, yeah, but you will get them all in a week or two. As of today, you can buy the turtle egg now from a vendor. Will you need to do a few extra things, yes. But everyday the players are getting better and learning to maximize the meta event. I had just discovered Drizzlewood a few months prior to launch of EoD and was a part of several failed attempts. I had to just find the most optimal time to do them. You will be fine to pick up EoD. Go explore. You can pick up a jade core 1 off the TP for about 1.5 gold. Just use the bot at every batter and pick up the offensive and defensive buffs. They stack up for like 1.1 hours. And you can just walk thru most of the content. Just utilize as many buffs as you can, the Jade bot buffs, food, banners from guilds, boosters etc. And walk thru like a god. The jade bot allows for you to get both offensive and defensive buffs that stack. And it does not hurt to join a large guild that is doing the Metas. You can be in more than 1 guild. TL:DR, get EoD, it is awesome and Rama is the boss! In the restaurant business we had a 80/20 rule. If a person does not like something, they will tell 8 people of the bad experience, but if someone liked there experience, they will only tell 2 people. Just a little thing to think about. The ones having fun are typically too busy having fun to complain.
  3. After playing a little more this afternoon, I am up to a few hundred slivers.
  4. The higher level of the item being made yeild's more research. An item that is for a level 10 may yield 1-2 research while a high level rare item can yield 20-40. Based on current market, it was easier for me to make mithril items for research.
  5. I finally just had to start using the action cam button for 6 to make it work the way I wanted
  6. I know you can make your own workbench, but the cost seems a little step early on. I am not sure if this is intended for a material/gold sink later or not.
  7. Now that I've finished the story and started doing more open world, the slivers are starting to collect much more frequently. As they only seem to come from mobs and not converting anything from chests. Since you only seem to get chests from story, I rushed to make the recycler and did not need it until after story. I just did not do a lot of map farming while doing the story.
  8. I made a core upgrade of 4 and put it in my bot and got the one back. I was able to post it on TP or send to an alt.
  9. I think the city is pretty well done. I don't mind all the layers as it makes it feel huge. I've been able to get to everything I needed by just exploring.
  10. Story - 8/10 Jade bots 5/10 not a fan of controls Overall - 7.5/10 I've been reading a lot about people being upset with nerfs and the downgrade of certain runes and whatnot; and I'm not totally sure how that is affecting things as I'm a newer player. But, I can say that I've played a lot of other MMOs and every expansion gets the Nerf bat or major changes or overhauls that completely change every class and I think this is something that is just kind of expected with MMOs in our modern world. I can't speak for everyone and I won't speak for everyone but so far my experience has been a solid thumbs up on everything so far in this game.
  11. My take on EoD. For a new player coming into the game, the taxis have a purpose of helping open the map and showing you points of interest. I think this is a nice feature for a brand new person to the game. The skiffs are clunky to control but still a nice feature for someone without the water mount. Getting a party together on your skiff for fishing adds a nice bonus. I think fishing is better than most of the games I've ever played. By getting the lures and adding bait I found that fishing is actually an okay thing as it gives you the pluses that you need to catch the fish in the area. Overall the taxi and the skiff just pushed me to want to go get the previous expansions to make sure that I unlock the mounts that everybody else has. So far the story has been pretty good I've enjoyed most of the voiceover and the acting that has gone along with it. If I have a gripe it's about the Jade bot, it was introduced so early in the game but we can't have the resources to upgrade it yet. I feel like the Jade bot could have been introduced later in the storyline so that we had access to start upgrading it once we got there. I feel like most of the things that I'm reading in this thread are talking from a perspective of a player that has been in the game for years now and has been able to collect all the things that are needed. I think what this expansion does really well is open up an introduction for new players to come along and learn things and get access to things that they've never seen before. Where I feel like they missed it in the development of the game is the starting area where they teach everybody how to do combos and dodges and everything needed for combat. If a new player comes into this and needs to learn how to do combo Fields there's just not enough information there for somebody to be able to pick it up and run with it. So there's a little bit of needed work on that aspect of it. I've read a lot about the emptiness of the world and how the sever splitting is working. I hope this gets better as the next couple of weeks unfolds and they start putting more people back into combined maps so that we're not so isolated and alone. For all the players that have the big mounts and can get around really easy I think the maps are set up so that you can progress your story quickly and get into the content that you want so you can start gathering the materials that you need for your items. For the rest of us I feel like it's been progressing really well and I'm really enjoying the game and hopefully that having some new blood in the game will help grow the community. Fishing - 7/10 Skiff - 6/10 controls are a little slow
  12. In the room with Tiami there is what appears to be a mirror or art work on the left side of the door she is looking at. You can summon your jade bot by hitting - and summon it. Fly threw the little window and right below the window is another charge you can grab to open the door.
  13. It is an introduction to players who have not used a raptor before. So you need to run around a little and get used to the raptors jumping. It feels like you have to do this with a raptor, but you can do this without, by just finding spots you can run up to the top and just walk to the AC units on the roof.
  14. Just do the story line and you will get the scroll. I don't feel like I am that far into the story yet and I have it. I believe I got it even before I got to Arborstone.
