  1. And yea this is a personal experience I have had on a specific class. And while yea I'm not top player, I have my 2v2 Elite title for a reason. The more important stomp is the more counters players will take to it. That is what I'm referring to here. Because stomping is a more important mechanic in 2v2 death-match, the enemy team will be playing around it more compared to other game modes.
  2. And what kind of nerfs do you propose for stomping? If you have ideas to nerf one side of the coin, you surely have also thought about the other side. uh no? The point of nerfing something is to bring it down in line with other options, I believe instant rez skills are too strong compared to how easy they are to get off.Stomping was already heavily nerfed in the gigapatch making it harder to take stomping skills like elixer s because you need to actually be able down people before stomping them. In addition to 3 out of 5 game format making stomping more important, stomping is harder to do then in any other gametype.I'm not opposed to the idea of rez skills existing period, I think the concept is fine. But I don't like how a necro can start the signet of undeath cast then run behind a wall and still get it off. If anything I think stomping needs to be buffed. Though only in a QoL update where you don't start stomping/rezzing someone when you target them with a ground targeted skill. I cannot tell you how many rounds i've lost because of that.
  3. 2v2 is the best PvP format this game has ever seen.Don't kill it before it gets to fly.
  4. Revive skills and traits are too disruptive in 2v2s for sure.Stopping someone from reviving their teammate is absurdly hard for how strong getting a revive is.Proposed nerfs:Make it so you cannot move while casting a instant revive skill.Nerf revive speed by a bit and increase the health pool of a target who is downer.
  5. stuff like this is the only way to get the super rich players to drain their wallets of gold and and raise the market value of item.See: any time a S2 legendary dropped. Additionally this falls under the same logic as precursors and legendary crafting. You want the guaranteed way to be more difficult and expensive on average then the rng way so the rng way isn't pointless.
  6. With S5 I'm going to go with yes but just barely.Prologue and visions of the past were both 1 level below expansion level content.
  7. Anyway, since either option is basicly 0% likelyhood - changing race is in direct opposition of the entire GW2 monetization system of alts and a new race is practically impossible given that there are like 4000+ armor pieces that would have to be realigned and maybe even recreated - I choose... neither. Because we need neither. We need QoL things - engine improvements, PvP improvements, WvW improvements and hell maybe, just maybe, even PvE improvements since Anet has obviously completely ignored that aspect of the game for years. So...We are pitting up a Qol feature that would likely be monetized up against a box feature that would be included to sell expac's? Seems like a miss match to me but okay. Thanks for the explanation.
  8. What does race change mean in this context? I appear to be late sorry
  9. I'm gonna go ahead and say that's what makes the Charr interesting and a well fleshed out race.Having ever race just be a different flavor of human is boring. And more importantly it will lead every race down the same path. As far as examples go in other games: Orcs in WoW.Orc's player fantasy and what they are actually by lore are is so messed up and mis matched that they have made 5 separate attempts to make moves towards a deeper alliance with the humans of that game, but can't because that's opposite the player fantasy. And this is all because: Orc's are basically just humans with a different backstory, meaning as the story progresses Orcs would naturally soften up as more connections with other races were made. This is the reason I love the Charr so much.At least at a social level they are so different from humans that its impossible to mistake one from the other. And whose to say interesting stories and well written characters can't come out of that? Good writing can solve almost anything my friend.
  10. Except they haven't... for like 120 years I cannon or so. The Charr have specifically moved away from the Flame Legion lifestyle and have tried to snuff out every last bit of its existence until recently. Within the entire season 5, we also see Rytlock (who previously was established as a mostly logical, hardened soldier) deteriorating from that logical soldier into a "must save stupid son" father, just to artificially create fiction to forcefully scrape some kind of subplot together. And then he keeps bickering with Crecia like an old couple, even though they should have a professional attitude towards each other, as previous Charr lore implied. Okay so I have a couple of problems with this logic. First off, a couple of people watching their kids from afar doesn't count as a familiar roles within charr society.Second, watching over your kid while he is in the frahrar isn't new, there's several voiced lines in the vanilla Black citadel that expressed this.If your a leatherworker in BC you'll know what I'm talking about.Third off, Rytlock caring an odd amount about his son was introduced in the side stories during season 4, additionally Rytlock isn't the hardened professional type. Over the years he has slowly turned closer and closer to his original book incarnation. All that being said I have to agree with your main point that Rytlock gives way too much of a crap about his son and its really messing with his character. And yea this is probably just a plot device for rytlock. But that doesn't represent a shift in charr society, Rytloxk has always been an outlier in charr culture. The devs have somewhat foolishly decided to lean into that and here we are.
  11. That aside, male and female roles were very distinct, back when the Flame Legion lead all Charr.Males did all the fighting, females kept home clean and cooked. There, the roles were kept very strictly, until Season 5 introduced the reformed Flame Legion. Aside from the fact that bringing up flame legion tradition is completely irrelevant, What are you talking about? What family roles did anet introduce in season5?I haven't been keeping up with everything 100% so I'm open if I missed something.
  12. I was just using boonbeast as an example >.> This is what I meant. Holo always played second fiddle to boonbeast, mirage, shatter mesmer, ect.Whatever the fotm S+ spec was holo was always behind it. Which is why It was never gutted like mesmer or scourge got.
  13. If you're wondering why Holo has never been gutted its because historically holo has always been the A to the meta's S+ boonbeast. That is to say that holo has always been the second best build or the third best build .Second nerfing holo is kinda hard. Since the point of holo is to have high melee cleave damage. Something engineer doesn't really have outside of holo.So nerfing it is to nerf its niche. Also holo has been nerfed 2 patches in a row now. You guys are just being silly.
  14. Yes I am.Like I said Crecia should be a lot more hardcore then she currently is, based on her position under Bangar since ~ Edge of Destiny give or take. so say around 10 years. The Charr as a whole should have been a lot more hardcore then they currently are, based on their history and the way their society is set up.IIRC the whole "saving" the Charr has meant literately nothing yet, and is just a phrase. It's possible it will have significance in the future but as of right now the only character trying to make major changes to Charr society are Smodur and Bangar. First off, Crecia is literally his wife, dude probably has some hang-ups with her too. Makes perfect sense that he would listen to her more then random people.Second off, no. Rytlock ins't being neutered by Crecia, if anything he is being neutered by Ryland. Rytlock's relationship with Ryland has informed basically every decision he's made during this entire season. So this season hasn't toned him down; Rytlock's character was always meant to be a bridge between the Charr lifestyle and the PC's perspective. That's the role he has played since Edge of Destiny. Rytlock always hated Charr society and how it worked, that's why him becoming Tribune was a punishment rather then a reward.Ever wonder why we've gotten so little Charr story from Core until now? It's because Charr culture is completely incompatibly with the game. Now that we are getting Charr story the devs have to tone everything the Charr do down to make it compatible with the story without mucking up the message. All of the Charr characters that we are supposed to see as allies or extremely toned down, all of the Charr we are supposed to see as loose cannon types or evil, (with the exception of Ryland) aren't toned down. Crecia falls into the former so she isn't allowed to be hardcore, similarly to Malice or the majority of the NPCS.
  15. It's really obvious that Rytlock has taken the beta role in their relationship; Crecia tells him what to do all the time- have you done the Grothmar Valley strike mission? There's dialogue in it where Crecia is completely controlling. This seems at odds to me with Charr culture. If you open your mind a bit, you'll see that we are surrounded by weak male characters and that's sad, because it means the female characters can't be strong in their own roles; they take over the male role too. You'll also find that Rytlock has been under our 'command' since Heart of Thorns , or season 3 if you want to be picky. They have been softing up Rytlock for years, somebody who was already supposed to be a softer version of a generic Charr, the short stories in S4 come to mind as well as the beginning of s5e3.Crecia on the other-hand has been serving as head of the most forwardly and openly militaristic people possible on the planet. Since before Edge of Destiny.Crecia by all measures should be way more hardcore then Rytlock should be.Yet they messed this up too. Charr have been neutered for a long time in this story, the only one who was even remotely acting like a charr got shot possibly for a meme. Also really? Crecia tells Rytlock to use his own weapon. The commander tells Rytlock to use his own weapon, something that Rytlock very clearly already knew he was going to be asked to do and was not bringing it up because he didn't like it.Don't be mad that oooo female character strong. Be mad that none of the Charr and especially Crecia aren't nearly as awesome as they should be. Also they turned the character assassination they did to smodur into a literately assassination. Absolute gold. What the heck the Charr expansion better not be this watered-down.
  16. The only way this EE could be remotely justified as a core tool, completely separate from anything Holo provides, is if it at least lost its charge on a missed attack. Shiro now loses charges of Enchanted Daggers on missed or blocked attacks and that's his heal skill, something crucial to his core kit seperate from any traits. There's no reason EE shouldn't function the same and lose its charge if the next attack after dodging misses. You get another after every dodge with no ICD and no risk of missing, so guaranteed damage and blinds like this is too strong and something needs to go. Pretty sure it does.Although in saying that from the original 2v2 season when Flashbang was introduced.Additionally core engi kinda needs the damage from EE. Flashbang is strong but I'd argue core engi doesn't have a way to abuse it really, where its exceptionally exploitable by holo.
  17. If there is any nerf lich form needed it's this. Though honestly it would probably make it too situational.
  18. It's been good S3 onward imo.Story telling peaked in S4 but that's just because the last 2 episodes are Godlike.
  19. Solution:Introduce enchanted equipment that comes with fun traits installed in them but have rare quality stats to compensate. E.G.Enchanted valkerie bootsGives you a double jump Enchanted Grenedire's rifleResets the cool down of shrapnel grenade everytime you immobilize a for. Loot to grind for that is fun but doesnt ruin the meta or overstep GW2's core loot philosophy.
  20. 1.Change the format to 2v2s2.Add in casual gamemodes like 20v20 attack defend, payload, battle royal, CTF, deathmatch, ect3.Hire a dedicated PvP team.4.Sponsor grassroot efforts. Remove the ranked que and introduce a powerful LFG tool instead Incentivise PvP guilds in some wayThen the big one:Start the balance over from scratch. Strip every class down to the bare basics: Core only, and work the way back up to what we have now.Making new spells and fixing inherent problems along the way.
  21. The problem with Holosmith isnt that its Core engi+++Its that it fills in all of the gaps Core engi had to begin with.Engineer feels weak without Holosmtih.
