  1. I run Unbound by default with the volatile glyph. I didn't know about this Consortium or Molten Sickle. I'd be using volatile magic rune on them, which would you say is fastest in this case? The way I've been doing it so far is that everything is Unbound magic except for Mining which I use the bear one. It also takes just two hits and feels pretty fast. I can't find any info on it though to know if it's actually fast for rich nodes or if there is anything faster. I wanted something faster for rich mining nodes cause sometimes mobs will just be patrolling and I rather get in and out without dealing with them.
  2. I have Volatile, Unbound, and the Spriti animals. Can anyone tell me which of these is the fastest in slot for their respective function? Additionally, are there faster tools? I'm mostly interested in the fastest Mining tools.
  3. To please, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF AURENE, PLEEEEAASSSSE.... LET . ME . SKIP . INSTANCE . DIALOG I can't stand hearing the same dialog over and over while I do my obligational EOD storyline for more Tale of Adventure. I can't stand doing Sunqua Recommendeds without being able to skip the dialog like that godsend that is CM. I hate doing my daily dungeon run and having to sit through dialog that isn't cutscene skippable. C'mon, I'm just asking for instanced content. Maybe add some kind of node like the CM ones where you can choose a "skip all dialog" option or something. At least give it some thought. It's just QoL but it would help my sanity as I'm now finding myself falling asleep at night and suddenly hearing that talking reindeer asking for help after Sunque recommended day and I think it's getting closer everyday. Ah, great traveler! What fortune our destinies should cross paths on such a day! Did you hear that? "Quill"? Did she mean "quell"? Shhhh shhhh, I think I heard something. I can't just go up there with her like this. Maybe if they go first... .... Must be my imagination. Anyway. Give it some consideration as it would be the perfect gift...... or send me like 500 gold. Either works fine. I guess. Does she really blame herself? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Merry-soontobe-Wintersday everyone.
  4. That's exactly what I'm saying. It's boring to just stand around. Yet people here will show up "oh I like it, oh its not bad" then suddenly post in the same paragraph "Sirens Reef and Sunqua are worse, oh man, its so boring". Yeah, course they are, because they have huge downtime between each encounter. If you could skip dialog in Sunqua it would instantly get more favor just like Sirens would be liked more if it had a smaller map. Then you got the "oh you're just a speedrunner who wants free loot" and it's like "how?" yeah, we skip content in fractals but it's literally skipping walking and annoying mechanics to get to the fights. Last time I checked, Fractals were about the fights not the exploration, thats what PVE and raids are for. The latter being arguable. People just find any excuse to go against the grain or argue, even when I'm literally asking for more fun and nothing else.
  5. A. it's a "discussion" so, correct forum B. highlights my point further C. Sunqua and Sirens are great fractals but suffer from "downtime". Sunq is because of the super annoying dialog and Sirens is because of the sheer size of traveling between encounters. Thats literally Solid Ocean, just one huge downtime. It's not easy, it's boring. It's roughly 5 minutes(with good RNG) of standing around and waiting.
  6. What are you talking about? Any skip done in a fractal is done literally to cut the downtime between action. That's PROOF of my point, no one wants downtime. Look at the general skips, its either things like mechanic hopping in Aetherblade to skip the annoying waiting around for tiles or beams. It's traversal skipping like Urban Battlegrounds "pick-a-path", Cliffsides "zig-zag" stairs or back and forth hammering, Uncategorized's harpie hopping. They all skip to get to "the content" which are the fights. Solid Ocean is one giant downtime, there's literally nothing to do. It's not even a "fight". Speedrunning and content engagement are two different things you're mixing up. CM runs are speedruns where everything is miticulous to prevent downs and make the thing go by quick. Running dailies and recs is literally chasing content between walking downtime.
  7. It's content. It's supposed to be content. Breathers are T3 and below where everything is practically braindead, especially if you run a power build and everyone melts. Solid Ocean is just boring static.
  8. Downs I see are one of two: Tentacle sweep had bad timing and people couldn't grab the crystal or people literally away from the computer cause they got bored. Just shows how bad the whole thing is. Be cool if there was a stability type deal added to make grabbing crystals more dangerous so you had to quickly deal with tentacles.
  9. 1. The achievement is time related and shifting the mechanics to be more active would make the achievement more fun and even easier in some cases rather than frustrating. 2. "Far Worse" is subjective, not factual. Some people claim Sunq is worse when its super fun, just the fact you cant skip dialog makes it annoying when not doing CM. This fractal is factually lazy. It's akin to a scripted instance. 3. Mechanics are IMPROVED on EoD and made the encounter more active, faster, and more fun. Showing devs knew the problem and how to fix it, just didn't apply to fractals. If the fight was that active in fractals the above 1 statement would be true. one more thing. 4. Those are excuses for lazy design.
  10. Since everyone is keen on repeating themselves: 5 minutes of waiting for absolutely nothing but a button press after nuking tentacles is a waste. It remains unchallenging and boring. Akin to an intermission rather than a fractal. While Fractals like 100 are problematic just because you can't skip longwinded dialog, and they're naturally a long Fractal, they have great content. I, for one, love running CM simply because the 98-100 are three great and engaging fractals becoming more fun when you skip the fluff and have just straight up action. Solid Ocean is the complete opposite. It's a rush with no content and no fun, at any point. While a lot of fractals get a "skip" done at some point of them, these skips are just to shorten a useless part. Like Uncategorized having a skip to avoid the harpie jumping which is just unnecessarily long. Nontheless, in the fractals you're still treated to "content" which is "active" in the form of boss fights and the like. As opposed to SO which is literally nothing but "run, kill, wait, kill, wait". Downs happen the majority of the time from tentacle sweeps timed with a bad crystal location to people literally stepping away for a moment from how boring the wait for the fractal is. While it is tied to an achievement, it doesn't mean it can't be worked on. We just know devs WON'T work on it. There's a large difference. They can easily make the boss more engaging and active, which would even make the achievement more fun to get. Hell, the DE version of the encounter is more active and fun from the sheer chaos of finding the crystals and AOE to stand in while enemies just appear all around. So the devs KNOW how to fix the encounter, just choose not to. "it doesnt bother me" is an irrelevant, lazy, and defeatist excuse. It's still a flawed fractal just like Sunqua. Except where as Sunqua is flawed by forced long dialog(thank GOD for CM but double Sunq day is still annoying), this fractal is just plain lazy and unspiring in every way. It isn't "content", its an instance on rails. Indifference is not an excuse for lazy design.
  11. The title says it all. Solid Ocean is one of the worst levels this game has to offer. It's boring, long-winded and has zero challenge to it outside trying not to die of utter boredom. It's the most uncreative mechanic I've seen for this game and it offers nothing of enjoyment from having to sit there waiting for Cthulu-wannabe to finish his long and drawn-out attacks. Chalice of tears has more sense than this fractal. It needs to either be reworked from the core to be faster and more intuitive or completely removed from rotation. The fractal is just insanely boring and does nothing but frustrate and annoy people. "It's useless to complain, nothing will get done cause fractals got abandoned" Yeah, well. Can't say I didn't try.
  12. Can happily announce I got the title thanks to a group of absolute Champs who stuck through till we got the magic run. Thanks very much to those legends.
  13. Virtuoso The issue is the double fear ar 33%. People get downed by the huge AOE in panic or they don't have enough CC. It's always the same spot.
  14. I keep trying to form a group for the DWD title run but LFG is either dead or I end up with 4 people who have no idea what mechanics are. Can someone please help me with this title? I've done all CMs with no problems, know mechanics, but constantly get booted trying to join a group over one stupid title.
  15. This "limited time" thing needs to end. It's both stupid and non-profitable. I realize Anet has this idea of "oh oh oh it's limited, get it quick ooooooo" but the fact remains that some people simply can't farm the gold for it and other's might not even have an interest for the item currently. Having it appear for a "limited time" then disappear for a range of months to a full year is absolutely stupid and needs to stop. To give an example I experienced: Start of the year I had enough gems for an infinite tool and went with Unbound instead of Volatile. Unbound proved extremely useful as I went about getting my Aurora legendary. However, after I was done, I wanted to go for Vision. Which is where Volatile comes in more handy. Unfortunately, it was April and I wouldn't see the tools in the store till June. So there I was, wanting an item that simply wasn't there and having to wait till June to finally get it. In this case, Anet got a win since I bought the tools. However, the reverse has also happened. See, I wanted to get the Cyberscale skin once upon a time and had the gems for it. However, the skin wasn't available. So I waited, and waited, until at some point I literally just stopped caring and used the gold I was going to turn into gems for other TP items. Haven't cared for the Cybersale since. So, rather than having the skin available where someone like me would have bought it on the spot, they lost a buyer. I've also met people who were grinding gold for a specific store item and failed to meet the deadline. Which is another loss. There's no point in making the items limited time. The incentive to buy is irrelevant against people who aren't willing to drop money. Furthermore, it would be more lucrative to have all items constanty in the shop and simply cycle which are "discounted". This would cause people to stare at the full priced item, trying to hold out till it comes on discount, and some inevitably failing and forking over the cash for the full price item. It would creat MORE sales than limited time items. Anet needs to quit this crappy limited time design and just make all items available and cycle discounts. It's one of those really weird decisions that just makes no sense and ends up more clunky than effective.
  16. Gonna chalk up 1 for phoenix then, I like those trail effects. >D
  17. I really do like the effects, I saw it on youtube cause I also like to check dye channels. It's why I'm conflicted on it. Tigris does come with 3 but, fan of effects, I'm eyeing that flame one the most. So it's tecnically "Flame Tigris" vs "Molten Phoenix"
  18. I don't think so. I think that hub behaves like the paid pass ones and you can TP to them unless you have it. Though this is an unlockable item, so maybe it's not as strict.
  19. Before we begin: The reason I'm asking for help is because I want to buy a Griffon skin but don't know which. I live in Brazil and absolutely cannot afford gems, so I do gold grinds to buy the gems. It takes me AGES to get enough gold to amass 1k+ gems. So it's a really bad hassle and I need to make sure I won't regret any decision I make. So, originally I was saving for the Molten Phoenix skin. However, Shaman's list got posted with upcoming stuff and I saw the Tigris pack was incoming in about a week or so. Thus, I'm conflicted and wanted some opinions from people. Especially those who own these mounts. Which of the two is better: Molten or Tigris? I can only get one, I'll never be able to grind out enough gold for 1600 gems in a month and these things usually last that long. So, give me a hand deciding on the one I should go for. Thank you.
  20. That's been complained about endlessly dude. Everyone has gone through the grind, it's a right of passage for one of the most QoL items there is in this game. Just bite down and get to it. Takes 3 days and that's not nearly as bad. I've been sitting at a bridge for an hour now because I need to defend it 25 times and the event pops only once every 15min. Try seeing how fun that is. This game has very questionable, if not rediculous, decisions made for items and certainly goes overboard on the "grind" aspect. However, that's just how it is. Rather you're 4 weeks into an 6 to 8 week Conflux grind, day 2 in your 3 day skyscale run, or just grinding gold for a legendary. The grind is the grind is the grind. It wont change, no matter how much you want it to. And, if it did, it would be insulting to all others who endured it prior.
  21. Essentially what happens is that Dye colors are inherited from other Dye colors when switching builds. So when switching from build template 1 to 2. The dye colors of 1 are overriden by 2. So lets say Template 1 dyes are red, green, blue and Template 2 are black, brown, orange. When you switch to Template 1 then back to Template 2 that black, orange, brown is now red, green, blue instead. Basically I have to either keep all builds the same color or manually re-color them after. The inheriting effect is always from the "former" build. So Build 3 always inherits build 2's color and 2 always inherits 1. So if I go from build 3 to build 1. Any build I switch to then, 2 or 3, will inherit build 1's dye scheme. Very annoying thing.
  22. They clearly dont, you can right now to LW4 and find anywhere from 3 to 4 bots in the same location. Idle, macro using, necros. And they continue to be there taking up space. Nothing gets done about it.
  23. I do meta runs and node collection on a daily basis, which takes me around a few core maps and LW4 maps. I've reported every bot I've seen for a full two months now and EVERY ONE of them are STILL there. Same spot, same account. I even ask map to report them every now and again. Even with that, two months in, NOTHING is being done. LW4 is litered with Bots EVERYWHERE. Istan and Kourna being some of the worst. Yet nothing gets done even when they are reported. It's ridiculous.
  24. Sept 15. Can't salvage items from the Aurora collection. When using salvage tools of any kind they appear red and unsalvageble
  25. Could ya'll stop nerfing builds I like FOR FIVE SECONDS?!
