Secrets of the Obscure Balance Follow-Ups
shib.1369 replied to Cal Cohen.2358's topic in Professions
Buff sword/shield soldier's gear power core warrior please. Hardest build in the game. Can only bench 3k with self-boons/condis rn. -
We need more sets of Elite Specializations

Achievement point rewards: any plan to update them?
shib.1369 replied to Kronos.3695's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Yes. You'll get three Box o' Fun instead of one. Also the karma jug will be buffed by 5%. -

Gs on herald/renegade. So tired of swords rofl -
Alacrity and quickness the main culprits as usual. These boons parasitize almost every design decision.

Rofl. Good one xD

Do we know why they don't have this?
-
While this design looks so silly on the surface I massively prefer it over how many other specs work. Renegade is interesting on its own. It doesn't need its gameplay hamstrung by applying a single boon.

I agree. I've for a long time been a defender of quick and alac. My defensiveness has been shaken a bit over time, and this patch was the last straw. These two boons hamstrung the gameplay of soooooooo many specs/builds. Both when it comes to effectiveness/non-effectiveness and how degenerate/non-degenerate the gameplay feels (spammyness etc.). It seems like every patch alac and quick are the main culprits behind butcherings of gameplay styles and weird unbalanced messes (alac specter benching 38k rn. just 1,7k behind pure dps specter). Scourge was nuked from orbit for the sole reason of introducing alacrity, but the alacrity build is hot stinking garbage! The reactive parts of HAM and druid gameplay has been massively reduced, and once again due to how alacrity's applied. I honestly can write 10 000 of this if I had the time and energy, but I think I've gotten my point across. Just get rid of these boons. They've turned into a massive tumor on spec design. Give us baseline cd reductions, speed increases, or whatever. Anything is better than the current scenario.

What makes healers fun, interesting, and rewarding is being reactive - using the "correct" skills in order to handle your current surroundings. Hamstrunging (is that a word?) your build to babysitting one boon (current patch druid and HAM from what everyone says) is not engaging (healer) gameplay. Please fix this.
-
It absolutely didn't :S HAM's greatest weakness imo is (burst) healing non-stacked folks. Now it's gonna be made even worse. This while it looks like they're buffing druid healing and utility/boons to the moon. So confusing.

"Med Blaster: Reduced range from 600 to 450." Why?

I *believe* not using sigil of doom is kinda off though. It's so strong on condi thief in general due to the increased poison damage. Overall I think this build looks like the possible meta pick. gj!

Thanks for nothing Anet "Big Balance Update"

Alac helping with might is nothing extraordinary. mech, tempest and mirage give 25 might, specter around 10. The only outlier is renegade. Condi gives around 5 and power none, but both are capable of giving more with heroic command if they want/need to. Also there are random sources of might spread around some different dps builds. Scourge, pmech, specter for example. Idk what grandmaster trait you take but I almost always take Stoic Demeanor when I don't have an alac source with high might output. Very easy might coverage then. Protection is easily sorted with solace + shield 4 and f3 skill 5. You can give even more if you play mace and/or take Lesser Symbol of Protection trait. -

I've never had a single problem with perma prot and 25 might. -
Missed that, thank you! Then I'm a bit scared

On hfb you overcap a lot right now, even without alacrity and FmW, from just using solace and burning all potence charges off cd. Weighty terms change will only affect those who save the final potence charge. Qfb is another story however. -
It all depends on how high the baseline alac output is. We know too little to draw any real conclusions. I do however think your concern is valid.

BOONRIP is a problem!!!! BoonBall needs BUFF!
shib.1369 replied to Kayowin.9217's topic in World vs. World
Embrace the boonball -
We currently know nothing about the baseline quickness durations these builds will get, so it's not sensible to even speculate about their effectiveness. I'm scared, but declaring them "probably dead" is very much unnecessary.

Hfb's pretty happy though.. Advance, SYG, FmW, Bow of Truth baseline cd reductions is pretty kitten sick. -
How do you think Quickness Deadeye would work?
shib.1369 replied to HeliosMagi.9867's topic in Thief
It'll require you fill your entire bar with cantrips. including heal and elite. then mash them off cooldown, of course.
