  1. The same thing happens to me. The cursor control in this game is garbage. I hardly log on anymore because it's too frustrating for me to control. They don't care, nor will they ever fix it.
  2. Can we please get some clarification on this mouse issue? Is it a bug or intended? Are you changing it back? If not, are you giving us a toggle? A few months ago you forced bloom on everyone. People cried about it because it was affecting how they interacted with the game, and it was rolled back within hours. Why are you forcing this change on people? Some of us cannot control the game properly like this.
  3. People keep posting the same things because ArenaNet literally never says anything. NEVER. There are so many bugs in this game, the least they can do is have someone manage these forums and say they know the bug is occuring and it will be fixed at XX date, or it's being looked at.
  4. It's not your mouse, it's the game. Anet changed how it works, and no one asked for it to be changed. They also don't seem to care. There are many posts on here and Reddit about it.
  5. These posts are getting tiresome and ridiculous. So far in the past few days on here I have seen: 1. Raid armour is too hard to get 2. Spirit shards are too hard to get 3. Aurene legendaries are too hard to get 4. Skyscale is too hard to get 5. EoD map completion is too hard to get 6. I'm sure I've missed a few THIS IS A GAME. THERE IS SUPPOSED TO BE SOME SORT OF GOAL/SLIGHT FRICTION TO AQUIRING STUFF. If you get everything with almost no effort instantly, it's not a game, it's just a checklist you fill out. You must have no idea how easy mode this game is already. All of the previously mentioned points are not that hard if you just play the game. There is 10 years of content to play through and you want it all now.
  6. Why did you change it anyway after 10 years? Add a toggle or change it back. I cannot control the game like this. I will not spend another cent on your gemstore while it is like this, and will quit over this dumb decision if it's not fixed soon.
  7. The Motion Blur slider does literally nothing. Who knows why it's there, just Anet things.
  8. Yes. Turn both of your Character Model settings to Low or Medium. This will reduce the amount of players on the screen, but you will still see the name plates. I wouldn't pick lowest, because it reduces NPC models too much as well. Also, make sure there is a check mark in the box called Effect LOD. This will reduce the player ability effects. The next biggest CPU hog is Shadows. I have mine on High. You won't notice a difference while playing. The rest of the settings you can leave at the highest on a new computer because they won't affect much. Unfortunately this is a limitation of the game engine, which is very old at this point. The reason your GPU usage and clock speed are dropping is because the game is so heavily CPU bound on character models, your GPU has nothing to do. The GPU running at maximum power won't help since it is waiting on the CPU. This is normal and intended behaviour for GPUs in all games.
  9. It's not ideal, but I mitigated some of the issue of having to pick the mouse up all the time by increasing the mouse sensitivity. Now I don't have to move the mouse as far off center, but this has it's own drawbacks. I'll see how long I can tolerate this before I move on to some other game. Maybe increasing the sensivitiy in your mouse software will help other people.
  10. I don't know how you could have been using DX11 with this game for years, because it entered a beta only over 1 year ago. Windows 7 and DX9 are old and depricated for years. I suggest like many others have already, you stop using them. I believe Anet already said once DX11 is fully implemented in April, DX9 will be gone. There is no advantage to staying on these other than stubbornness. You can use Windows 10 for free, with a few minor inconveniences.
  11. Of course the arrow stays where it was if you pick up the mouse, that's the point. But now your mouse is at the edge, and since the cursor is in the middle of the screen, where can you move the mouse to? That's exactly what is happening in the game. Mouse is stuck in the center of the screen, you move mouse to the edge, now what? You have to pick it up again to move it back. CONSTANTLY. Pickup up the mouse off the pad and putting it back down is not accurate either. Plus if I turn the camera in the game, tab out to desktop, the cursor is in the wrong spot now. This is why there needs to be an option, not just forcing it on people.
  12. If you held down the mouse button to rotate the camera, the cursor disappeared, but it still moved where you moved the mouse. When you released the button to stop camera rotating, the cursor would reappear at the new spot. Now when you rotate the camera, you can move your mouse let's say 8 inches, but when you release, the cursor is in the exact spot where you started. Your brain thinks it's in the new spot though and messes up your game flow. Now you have to pick up your mouse and reposition all the time. You don't actively track your cursor with your eyes, it's more of a passive connection during gameplay which is why people think it feels off. In a fast paced twitch game like this, it is a very bad time. Try this. Put your mouse cursor in the middle of your web browser. Now pick up your mouse off your mouse pad, and put it down at the edge. Now move the cursor around. It feels wrong because your brain thinks when you move the mouse to the edge that's where the cursor is. Because that's how it's been for decades of computer use. Plus, there is no room to move around at the edge of the pad now. If Anet wants it to be like this, why can't they just have a toggle button in the options to switch between the 2 modes?
  13. Is there any way to change this kitten? It's unusable.
