  1. I think Jaunt either needs a range increase to 650 or a 3rd charge. Obviously not both or it would be insanely overpowered.
  2. It should not be tied to the sword. I already hate being forced to use the sword in many power builds. This would put it over the top....
  3. Guess I have to redownload TaCO again. I generally only used it to finish masteries, jumping puzzles, and adventures. Never bothered much with the other features. But if it helps with the mouse location, I'll give it a try later on. Thanks.
  4. Yes, I want to see that mouse pointer at all times. Why is that such a bad thing? Often times I am moving in one direction but want to jaunt in a completely different direction quickly but lose track of the mouse and end up in a bad spot. Normally I wouldn't care with normal dodge roll, but mesmer mirage doesn't have that. Using jaunt without the mouse pointer often puts me in bad spots. Yea, I probably need more practice with it but that doesn't mean a mouse pointer is unnecessary. Or if they increased jaunt range from 450 to 800 it would solve a lot of the aggravation. But I highly doubt they'll do that.
  5. Increasing the contrast of the mouse didn't solve the problem of the pointer disappearing while right clicking. How hard can it be to solve that issue? It's one of the reasons I hate using jaunt with my mesmer.
  6. I always hated the AlacMirage because the alacrity was specifically limited to the staff which basically forced you to work the staff into your playstyle.
  7. I thought it meant Mirage with Inspiration build.....
  8. The double staff mirage is fun in PvE but is not really for PvP. As for Mirage in PvP, I can't stand the concept of ambush being the major source of damage as a tradeoff for using dodge defensively. And I also hate how the elite skill Jaunt only has a 400 range. The single condi cleanse on it is not worth the tradeoff of losing the 3rd jaunt given to Mirage in PvE. Increase the range to 600 and keep the limit of 2 uses, or keep the range at 400 and let us use it 3 times like in PvE. I also hate having to switch to staff to use ambush for alacrity. Seems like there are too many tradeoffs that don't offer much in return. Why can't alacrity also come from any weapon when you use ambush? Why is it restricted to staff?
  9. Read through all the posts. Thanks for the advice. As predicted, the Chornophantasma shatter build did solid damage and had decent mobility (not great) but was weak against ranged attacks. I was having problems with ranged mobs in PvE so I can only imagine the horrors in PvP. The damage was good but that one weakness is just too much to deal with. It would work well in a blob zerg but not in a small group of players roaming around. So I took some advice in this thread and reworked my Chronophantasma build to include more stealth.... a lot more stealth. Both builds are generally the same except one is condi and one is power. I kind of like the power one better because the greatsword skills have short cooldowns which will almost recycle and be ready when I come out of stealth. It's already working slightly better in PvE versus ranged mobs. I know that doesn't translate to PvP, but it's a start. Power: Build Editor - Gw2Skills.Net Condi: Build Editor - Gw2Skills.Net
  10. Yea, I decided to stick with the Chorno Phantasm build. I tried fooling around with the Virtuoso block focused abilities and I'm just not that efficient at blocking consistently in PvE let alone try it in PvP. Felt like I was spending entire fights trying to use all my blocks. I didn't enjoy the gameplay. I'm going to replace that warrior rune with a rune of exuberence. I'll have to find a way to cover the builds biggest weakness which is trying to defend itself from ranged attacks. Yes, I have stealth, but that won't help much versus a deadeye who can just wait it out and come back to beat me over the head again.
  11. I guess what it all boils down to is this. How effective is all that blocking on Virtuoso in WvW roaming with 1 or 2 friends? In PvE it's a bit annoying trying to figure out all the animations and timing them with good blocks. I'm still new at it and can see it being solid once my reflexes adapt. My problem with the Chrono Phantasm build I chose is the lack of defenses against projectiles. So that means I'll probably die to every Deadeye which would make my WvW gameplay unbearable LOL
  12. I originally asked this in the Mesmer forums, but I guess it makes more sense here. I've been doing just fine with the Chrono spec below in PvE and I'm not quite sure how it will play out in WvW (not sPvP). My goal is to roam with one or two friends in WvW. Here is the Chrono spec I've been playing in PvE. Build Editor - Gw2Skills.Net It's basically a Chornophantasma build using a greatsword and staff for lots of phantasms and shatter. It's got decent mobility and I chose the superior rune of the warrior to shed 2 seconds off the weapon swapping. It makes a huge difference in PvE so I can only imagine it would be fun in WvW. My second build is the typical Virtuoso focused on blocking and blade generation. The sword and torch are mostly used for escaping. The scepter and sword offhand will be my primary dps weapon which generates lots of blades. Again, I haven't tried WvW yet so not sure how that would work out. It's quite an adjustment from the Chrono build because I have to be more active with my blocks. And it's definitely not as fun as the other spec in PvE. Build Editor - Gw2Skills.Net I just want to make sure I'm not wasting my time with the wrong spec for the wrong content because gearing them out is a bit different. Right now I'm using Marauders but plan on changing some things once I fully settle on the spec.

  15. I agree with this. Not everyone is into the min/max meta of getting super efficient rewards doing content they don't enjoy. If those more difficult dungeons are more fun, then people will continue doing them even if rewards are slightly less per minute of gameplay.
  16. That's your view. My view of endgame dying is players are tired of themepark endgame content and want the genre to take the next step. Something like Ashes of Creations is promising with their node system endgame loop (not sure they'll pull it off). AoC to me is probably what Guild Wars 3 would have been. Taking the living world to the next level. Player and NPC actions have a more long lasting impact on the world rather than recycling every 1 hour or so.
  17. After End of Dragons comes the obvious.... Reincarnation of Dragons! Can never have enough dragons in a game like this
  18. I also returned a few months ago, and while I agree the gem store is frustrating, it's not the reason I'd quit again. The gameplay loop really isn't for me. I'm constantly being forced to solve or perform all sorts of annoying puzzles to progress through the mastery system rather than exploring the world on my own. And yes, I am being forced to do them or I literally won't progress. I don't mind a few of these puzzles, but the entire game is full of them. And the majority of them I do not find fun. As for the living world story..... It skips around and makes no sense because ANET decided to monetize it. So basically I started with HoT story. Then I went to season 1 story when it became free. And now I'm doing season 4. Seriously, whose stupid idea was it to monetize major story elements in the game? I'm not a story driven person when it comes to games. I'm only doing them in Guild Wars 2 to open up portions of the game that should be available for FREE if I own all the expansions. I haven't even started WvW yet. I'm sure I'll find many complaints there as well. I did play it years ago, and my major complaint with it back then was the large zergs repetitively running to points of interests to collect reward points. Most of the time there wasn't much PvP going on. I didn't play a ton of PvP back then so roaming was not really an option. There should be a few important events simultaneously happening in the WvW zone that breaks up the large zergs and gives a greater chance of smaller skirmishes with the enemy. Again, I haven't played it since returning so I'm hoping the zerg problem has been addressed.
  19. And Mirage can equip superior rune of the zephyrite to get 5 seconds of super speed on Jaunt. I think you can get 13 or 14 seconds of super speed every 30 seconds in WvW. Sure, it's not perfect, but it's good enough to get the job done. If you combine it with your condi cleanses, you can stay on a target long enough to hopefully kill them.
  20. I wouldn't mind a nerf to the pet, but they better not touch the non pet utility skills. I finally found a profession that fits my playstyle. And to be honest, I rather not have the pet. It's just a bonus I'm taking advantage of now.... while I still can. The closest other profession I enjoyed was a mesmer mirage build. But the reliance on unreliable clones and phantasms in PvP made it unfun. If they made Jaunt a baseline utility like the rocket boots for engineers, I'd probably stick with my mesmer but switch to Virtuoso. Seems silly that Jaunt is an elite skill and it's worse than baseline rocket boots from engineers. So nerf the mechanist pet but leave the engineer player utility skills alone.
  21. If ANET did not want people to abuse stealth, they could have made initiative drain a tiny bit faster when in stealth so you can't stealth forever. But to need an enemy target to simply stay in stealth seems odd. And here I thought I was doing something wrong LOL. Anyway, the only good thing from this failed thief boost attempt is I learned to fear thieves slightly less if they are staying stealthed before an attack. Looks like I'll have to find a different toon to boost.
  22. While we are on the subject of being a noob thief. Is there any way to enter stealth with your combat skills (like pistol 5) without having an enemy target? Was thinking of boosting a daredevil but didn't realize you needed a target to use those stealth skills. Or do you?
  23. Thanks for all the advice. But I decided to avoid playing the interrupt spec. If the game had cast bars or an easier way to tell what's going on I'd stick with it. Maybe in the future if and when I become more knowledgeable of class mechanics in PvP, I'll go back to the interrupt spec. But for now I'll stick with one of my two noob specs. Both have their weaknesses. The mirage spec without interrupt will be weak against ranged classes and the chrono build will have less mobility. I'll have to decide between those two. So far the chrono one is ahead.
