I've seen a few posts on Reddit with people showing artworks they got of their characters for gold. A friend of mine did it as well. Now I saw an art auction being posted on Reddit where people bid on an artwork they can get for their character with gold. I was interested but saw people in the comments talking about it being RMT. I tried to find a statement from Arenanet for it but to no avail.
Is it illegal to trade artworks for in-game currency like gold or Mystic Coins or Legendaries? I mean there is no real money involved or is it too much of a gray area?
Is there a way to ask Arenanet directly? I dont want to get in trouble if I buy an artwork with my gold.
