I've no doubt skyscale is better - I just wanted to show that it's got a bit more range than people might think, and isn't bad as a budget option, or one that doesn't need as much grind to obtain.

Might be an unpopular mount for some, but it's not bad as a budget flying mount option - video below shows flight distance with Turtle pilot booster 3 and Mount energy booster 3 on the jade bot. That obviously means I can't use other modules which is a bit of a downside, but I'm having fun with it. I'm fairly sure turtle is easier/cheaper to unlock that skyscale/griffon, though correct me if I'm wrong. It's certainly the only option I can use at the moment with EoD only and it works well. Second half of the video shows the flight distance with the level 2 modules - I could probably have squeezed flight time more on those, but having both modules at 3 is a big upgrade. Mount energy 3 requires the High energy capacitor (drop from NK meta or buy from the jade vault vendor Myung-Hee for 2500 imperial favors plus 1000 research notes). Turtle pilot booster 3 requires the advanced control board (drop from Gyala Delves meta, or buy from the Gyala Delves map vendors - but you do need to have finished the Jade Crisis achievement which means spending a bit of time in the Delve!)

Thanks to the mods for merging threads, I'd thought I could delete the old one but then realised I couldn't. Thanks also for the advice Inculpatus - I did put in a ticket through the website and CS have refunded the gem cost of the skin, which, as you say, they don't always do so that was kind. I put a note in the QoL thread also but that looks like it might have been deleted so maybe it was out of place. So this isn't a major issue - but the bug is still there, ie either those particular skins should be available to purchase and the mount menu should be unlocked for them, or they should add a padlock/note to the siege turtle skins etc like they do with all the rest so that people without PoF can't buy them at all. If they do unlock the mount menu I've no problem with paying back the gems they refunded - and likewise, if they decide that only PoF players should be able to buy and use mount skins, that's fine too, it just ought to be clear either way. I appreciate there's more pressing bugs to get to though.

The time limited raptor is only for players with no expansions. With core + EoD I have the raptor, springer and siege turtle unlocked and there's no time limit on any of those, they're permanent unlocks. Raptor and springer are given for free at certain story steps, but their masteries don't unlock at any point unless you buy PoF - I don't have a problem with that. The siege turtle unlocks once you complete all the pre-req achievements, at which point its mastery track unlocks as well. I have the siege turtle and have all the turtle masteries completed as well. My only issue is mount skins. For the most part they can't be bought and require PoF (which is fine) - however certain skins can be bought, but can't then be used because the whole mount menu is locked.

I have the End of Dragons expansion, but don't have HoT/PoF. I have the mounts from EoD all unlocked - raptor, springer, siege turtle - but the mount menu in the hero menu is completely locked. I can ride those three mounts, but I've got a mount skin unlocked on my account (crested dragon siege turtle) which I can't actually apply to my turtle because I can't get into the mount menu. Here's a picture of the hero menu: my mouse cursor was hovering over the 'mounts' tab. You can see the padlock and the text popup that appears. There's a padlock over each of the mounts I don't have, while the ones I have unlocked (raptor, springer, turtle) can be selected and I can dye their default skin. This works great! The mount menu could work like this!: https://imgur.com/sDoud59 Normally when I look at the gemstore, I can't buy mount skins - this is fine, I don't have the relevant expac and that's clearly marked. This screenshot shows how it normally looks when mount skins are available to buy. There's a clear padlock and a message that they require Path of Fire to use, and I can't click on the button to buy them: https://imgur.com/7Sh6J8J However a few skins are available to buy - ie standalone turtle skins are always available, along with some other EoD specific skins like the jade raptor. There is no padlock or warning, I am able to buy them, but I can't apply them because the mount menu remains locked. It looks like this is a bug - and if so a fix would be great! If EoD-only players aren't meant to be able to buy and use these skins, then please could you put a clear warning and padlock on those items in the gemstore for us so we don't buy them by accident? Thanks both - Luthan, I've had the turtle mount unlocked for several months, I can use it in the game - but I can't apply the skin. Under the 'dye' tab in the hero panel, the mount section is available - most mounts are shown greyed out with a padlock, but the raptor, springer and turtle are unlocked and available to dye - those are the mounts I have unlocked from playing end of dragons that I can summon and use in game. I can change the dye color on the default skins for each of those from that panel. For the mounts tab (where you would go to select which skins you are using) - I can't even get into that at all. The whole tab is locked out in the hero panel with a padlock shown over it. The gemstore is normally pretty clear on this - there's a clear padlock and tooltip on most mount skins that states I would need to buy Path of Fire to be able to buy or use those skins. I can't buy them at all - which is fine. The raptor and springer do unlock with EoD but I don't have access to their masteries - again, that's fine, it's PoF content. The turtle skins don't have the padlock or the text, and I am able to buy them with gems, I just can't then use them - which needs fixing in some way.

Hi - I have an account with End of Dragons, but I haven't bought Path of Fire/Heart of Thorns. I have all the mounts from End of Dragons unlocked - raptor, springer, turtle, skiff. Usually in the gem store I can't buy mount skins - which is fair enough, I don't have the expansion they came with. They show a padlock next to them and a note saying I will need to buy the expansion. However - whenever a turtle skin is available in the gem store, it doesn't have any of that, it looks like a skin I can buy and use - which is really what I would expect since they were a part of the End of Dragons expansion. I bought the crested dragon siege turtle skin in the gem store today, took the item from the mail and unlocked it. When I look in the hero panel however I can't actually access the skin to switch to it. The mounts section in the hero panel has a padlock on it still. EDIT - the customer support team has refunded the gem cost of the skin, thank you! The bug does still exists - ie players with only EoD can still buy certain mounts but can't use them because the mount menu is locked out. If the intention is for only PoF players to be able to use all mount skins - siege turtles included - then I'm fine with that, it just needs to be made clear in the gem store so people don't save up for and buy them without realising.

Thanks Florimel- no shaky thing appears there. EoD mastery insights do work and put the little clickable thing in the bottom right to gain a mastery point, the core tyria points simply don’t work - even in the achievements panel they all have a padlock to them showing that they are not accessible

Thanks for the reply - they’re in the red mastery points list in the achievements panel - the same as the first list you linked to. So for instance I’ve visited the hidden Ourobon point in harathi hinterlands and I can interact with it but not gain the point. Looking in the achievement panel most of the red core Tyria achievements are available - I’m working on dive master for example and it’s tracking progress - but the red mastery insights (the first link you linked) all have a padlock symbol next to them. It seems they’re locked which explains why I can’t get those points, I just wanted to check if that was intentional or not

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not: I have the core game and End of Dragons - I haven't bought HoT or PoF. Since EoD went live, I have access to the mastery tracks for Core Tyria and for End of Dragons. EoD mastery is all fine. In Core Tyria - I can gain mastery points for achievements, so I've mostly gotten them from personal story and a couple of fractals. However - the core tyria mastery insights don't seem to work for me. I can interact with them - the text says: commune with this place of power, there's an animation, a channelling bar and a glow when the bar fills - but it doesn't actually grant a mastery point. If I click the insight again it still says 'commune with this place of power'. Is this intentional? That the core tyria mastery insights are limited to players with heart of thorns and path of fire unlocked? Or should they be available to EoD-only players as well, given that the rest of the basic core tyria masteries are open to them? Thanks!
