  1. thanks all ive gone druid,
  2. mainly im looking at pve with maybe some wvw thrown in when im feeling the desire for something else.
  3. Always played support classes in other mmos and want to start doing that here. played everything from druids shamans priests jedi sages you get the idea. right? i know support here is different since there's healing and boon support and I'm wondering what's the easier class to learn it on? I've looked up guides and things and they seem dated. Especially due to the new weapons altering things such as warrior staff. am i better to go with something easier but in the long run not that useful , I know on other games some healers/supports are only wanted in certain things where as others are wanted everywhere Any help or suggestions would be appreciated
  4. thanks, i'll give rev a shot .since it seem to tick alot of what i want.
  5. not played for a while, and never really got into end game stuff, mostly messed around in low lvl stuff and wvw but I'm wanting to come back but stuck on what to play, I love mixing ranged and melee. supporting is fun but stressful I've found in other games not sure if its the same here. played most classes at least a little and found i hate classes that are super slow or feel slow not just in combat but in general movement. don't mind pets but I found most times in games they are just more annoying than useful. In wvw I loved being in the zerg mostly sniping with weapons like the bow or rifle, Ideally I want something that's not too hard to play like ele, I remember you needed to have a phd and fingers of a piano player to get the most out of it, to some degree engi was the same or used to be. Something with good damage , and reasonable survivable skills is good for me as I tend to play solo a lot and taking on some of the more elite or harder mobs in open world can be grr when you are super squishy on other games ive played the druid or the fighter things like that at least on ones such as wow, or for the swtor people the bounty hunter or the assassin Any suggestions would be great thanks p.s i know things will be changing soon with addition of new weapons for classes but until i can get to those or to the elite specs, then they dont really matter since id have to lvl through the core class
  6. Thing is colours mean different things to different people. So, to get what is seen as right isn't always going to be right for others. Let's look at necro which is green. Green can be the colour of infections at least in name such as gangrene and mould can be green, but so is nature and life. You're never going to get a group to agree where the colour belongs. And what class fits it. I get that people tie colours to everything at least those that can see colours, but No one will get everyone to agree which fits which. Even a fire mage your gonna have people arguing over should it be yellow? red? orange? So, to me saying that colour is thematically tied to a class is wrong. But the original post was about adding a new class and to add a new class we have to look at what does this class do that the others can't. Does it add anything that an elite spec wouldn't? Then you need to look at the question does this fit within the setting of the world that has been made, those are questions that need looking at before any new class could be slotted into the game. Adding classes that don't fit the setting might sound fun? but in the end you ruin the game in the long run
  7. I may be wrong and I'm not an expert, but it feels like you're basing your ideas of classes from warcraft, which isn't bad in itself but different games and all. There is not hard rule saying a light wielding character has to use yellow or white for colouration and Holy fire has always been a staple of holy characters such as paladin and clerics. The only difference here I see is colour As for necros? again purple. warlock warcraft. Even there the class uses minions. But its affliction spec is about dots and cursing people which in this game is conditions. But in dnd and forgive me if I'm wrong warlocks aren't all about shadow. hopefully someone with more experience there can shed light on that area What I'm seeing is that you're arguing over colours not a reason to actually have a new class in game or not to. The problem with adding a new class apart from the work for the devs and yes it would be a lot. But the main thing to consider is that many classes that people would want? like a monk? could be made into elite specs. A monk could be an unarmed guardian, From what I've seen the willbender's utilities skills lean that way already. A bard could come from mesmer with the performance and illusions. now as I said I'm not expert on this game, I've played for a while but at the same time I'm super casual. I know there are issues with this game like every other game. Adding another class would pile more problems onto a balance side of things which is pretty hard to keep in check as it is. Looking at you Mechanist
  8. I can see that this might be an impossible choice at least by asking for advice. Not that I don't apricate it.I really do. Its just while i was leaning towards harb as I thought it might be more mobile thanks to the first reply ,It might not be. Maybe I should just flip a coin. Might be easier and stop myself from questioning so much.
  9. Thanks for the reply but honestly? No idea what you mean by nervous. I know I prefer more mobile classes over all. and hearing that gunsworn is rooted makes me lean towards harbinger more. And don't know what I prefer since not played in such a long time and I really don't want to lvl a character up only to find out I hate it you know?
  10. been a while since I play. 3-4 years really and want to come back. Looked at the wiki and stuff. Never really had a high lvl character before and never did much end game. But I'm looking at those two specs in particular. How hard are they? I know necro base used to be pretty simple and warrior could be nothing but a buff bot at times. I'm not planning on raiding at least not right off but i do want to just focus one class. Which out of those and their other elite specs would be more reliable i guess im asking, or more fully rounded as a class over all.
  11. I know that most classes are needed to be closer than a bow allows or at least for the buffs but I love bows, I want to know what's the best class to use a bow on? I know that ranger is the main go to for it but is it the best? same as I know that the thief's is just mainly for utility. Any advice would be welcome
