The biggest problem with "wayfinder" is how disconnected it is from what we have done. At first the character is referred to by a racial title, based on the player's accomplishments at the very start of the game. Then, an Order title, a rank in the organization the player chooses to join. Then Commander, a title in a new organization the player worked to build. That one stuck through other, local sobriquets, which were all based on things the player did, often at the head of a force. But "wayfinder" is a rank in an organization the player didn't chose, based on...no really specific actions. It's not a natural evolution from a previous title or a reaction to the player's choices.
And here's the thing that really irks things. They deliberately make a point of not referring to the player as Commander. It's very dismissive of everything the player has done up to that point. Namely, saving reality itself from unraveling.
Because the self-appointed council of amnesiacs had bigger issues to worry about than elder dragons.
Bleck.
