  1. I thought everyone was *supposed* to get the new weapons. They kept saying this was a free update.
  2. Sometimes greatsword does feel rather slow for me when I play Reaper, but it feels faster than pistol so it seems a lot zippier on Harbinger.
  3. Explosive entrance will crit. I didn't know it could do that. Also, if you dodge into Photon Blitz every single shot will crit. That's nice.
  4. OK, paying closer attention to my combat logs it does not look like vent exhaust bogarts the crit - with vent exhaust active the "proper" attack that followed the dodge roll critically hit.
  5. Hm. Good question. I hadn't thought of the vent exhaust thing. I'd been focusing more on how long I could keep the dodge roll/attack combination going. I'll switch vent exhaust over to one of the others and pay more attention to damage next go round.
  6. I mean, if you're a power build you have all the crit you want, and if you're a condi build you're not building for crit damage, so it probably is superfluous. Though on my celestial build, it's pretty amusing to see that I have a crit chance of 33% but I can roll into crits nonstop for a while just by dropping in and out of forge to get my endurance back up.
  7. I have no idea how practical this build is overall - all I know is that it's a lot of fun just messing around with. Relic of the Daredevil gives you a guaranteed crit after every dodge. So: Solar Focusing Lens, Vent Exhaust on Holosmith Adrenal Implant on Tools Energy Rune in second slot of weapon. Roll, crit, roll, crit, activate forge, endurance spikes back up, fight for a while to build heat, roll, crit, roll, crit, drop from forge, endurance spikes back up, roll, crit, roll, crit, activate forge, endurance spikes back up... I have no idea if this is an effective way of fighting or if it will actually increase damage overall but it is hilarious. You can't keep it going forever but you can do it for a pretty long time...
  8. I don't have any specific theorycrafting data or anything, just that it's a lot of fun. Also the spammable attack 1 generates life force, so starting out with pistol/dagger and switching to greatsword when the enemies inevitably close feels like I can jump into harbinger shroud/regain shroud a lot faster than before.
  9. I mean yes, you're absolutely right, Holosmith was introduced AFTER the original storyline. BUT IT'S STILL ANNOYING. 😄
  10. You're right: it wasn't fatal, it was just incredibly annoying. So annoying that I switched to a core flamethrower stability build until HoT.
  11. I think the heat mechanic is fun overall, but I am frustrated by the game's decision to make it impossible for me to interact with it and then penalizing me for not interacting with it. 🙂 It's not as much a problem in later stories because they replace most cutscenes with in-game dialog, but you never truly appreciate just how talky Trahearne can get until one of his Episode One cutscenes starts just before you burst into flame 😕
  12. Ah, I see. Because condi damage is based on one stat and duration is based on another I assumed duration and damage weren't related. Thank you for the clarification!
  13. OK, but that does mean that when you increase the duration of a condition attack your dps goes down. So why do so many builds try to do that?
