  1. I have to agree with Buran. And give it a +1. Hizen has 2 Vindicator builds up--one for condi damage using mace/axe an d i believe a power version using the GS. He called his condition damage build "Immortal". While it does less damage then the power version--~13.5 vs. ~14.1 dps--it is an incredible build. I have been using it for a week now and it has become my favourite.
  2. Hello. I also have a significant disability but on the physical side--hello jumping puzzles may your creators all fry in kitten. As a result 'playing the piano' is beyond my physical capabilities now. There are many LI--low intensity--builds that do not require you to do much more than auto-attack and occasionally hit a key. Hardstruck ran a contest a while back and most build sites have at least 1 for every profession. You can skate around the internet looking for them. But the site that has the greatest GW2 collection for the disabled gamer is Accessibility Wars : https://accessibilitywars.com . I highly recommend it. It has LI builds for every profession and specialization, elite or otherwise. I hope you can find a build that you enjoy playing. Despite its hardships GW2 is a blast.
  3. I can speak to this as a new player. I started GW2 on July 11 but really got into it around the 16th or 17th of July. I hit level 80 on August 11 playing solo mostly. I hesitate to advise on a profession but would suggest some type of pet class for the first bit as pets take some heat off you. Every levelling build usually recommends some form of power/precision equipment. Healing is not really much of a component until you get into the post-80 game. Having said that, by level 45 i had stumbled on a build that works for me and was not a starting build recommendation posted in any of the websites. You will level quickly to 80--especially if you join in all the events that occur in the zone you are currently playing in. They give good experience and loot. It is easy to re-jigger your build whenever you like so nothing should be written in stone. With respect to elite specializations you will require a boatload of hero points (250 I believe) and they don't come every time you level post 80 (though Mastery points do). Don't expect to hit that elite specialization quickly. The first expansion area Heart of Thorns is very vertical and death will become a common occurrence. This is especially so since you will have only basic gliding, which, while useful, is not great. Many will tell you to join a HP Train. I can only talk about my experience but be warned these are not new player friendly. As GW2 is 10 years old, the bulk of the people playing the game have unlocked the flying mounts. Every train I have seen is composed of people using flying mounts. You will get left behind and not complete an entire run--my last few attempts had me die 7 times en route to first HP challenge, which I never landed on. You can attempt to complete some on your own--I have--(and a lot of the locations are in weird and dangerous places) but be aware that many HP challenges require you to best a number of mobs or, harder, a Champion mob (these require 2 or more players to beat). I don't mean to sound very negative because I thoroughly enjoy GW2 and think it is a fun game (I did play it at release...hit cap and then left). But coming from WoW, you will be in a pond of a different kind. Take your time. Roam around all the main zones. Try not to let Heart of Thorns dissuade you from enjoying a very rich gaming experience. You will find people who will help out. ENJOY !!
  4. Hello. I am an older gamer---retired, living in Canada and in the eastern standard timezone. I have played what I call computer games since the punch card days of the '70's. I did play GW and GW 2 (along with pretty well any game that caught my fancy) 3 or 4 computers and 2 or 3 email addresses ago. I have started this game up again from scratch--my old accounts are really just dust in the wind--and would like to group with others (playing an MMO solo is not really my thing). As an older player I have, of course, a host of disabilities--one of which is severe hearing loss. I have solved this problem by purchasing a computer without a sound card, so most "come and chat with us" invites will, unfortunately, fall on deaf ears so to speak. Additionally, nerve damage has allowed me to "mis-hit" keys on my keyboard,; so I do invent new words quite often. I can play throughout the day except between 3:30-4:340 pm. EST, which is when I drive my teenage daughter to work (for the summer, times will vary once high school resumes). Naturally, I am totally ignorant of most game mechanics but have acquired a senior's ability to google though I try to avoid it as I firmly believe that google steals your soul if employed too much (it's true you know, at least that's what the National Enquirer used to claim). If there is a guild that will cater to this style of play (I do have 2 level 80 boosts but don 't like boosting at least for t he first 2 or 3 characters) please feel free to drop me a line. I will follow this topic and try and respond as expeditiously as possible.
