  1. This is slowly becoming the most annoying part of the new system for me . . . try tracking Wizard's vault WvW weeklies and "old" WvW weeklies at the same time. Fun!
  2. It did not really do anything. Of course you might farm a lot of mobs which actually drop some silvers frequently, but that's rare. Napkin math time: How much gold is usually dropped by mobs, 10c per 10 mobs? So 2% extra (even assuming it works as expected and not something silly like magic find) would give you extra 2c per 100 mobs? Assuming say avg 200 mobs killed per day (don't pretend you don't like those metas) you get 4c extra per day, so some 16s PER YEAR. Like sure, it can add up over time, you can kill way more mobs, which drop more gold, but overall for avg player it was reward with value of random BL item. Don't buy that crap for 1000 AA kids. EDIT: just saying - I liked that reward, as another freebie from login rewards. Number go up and all. But it is another victim of giving players choice, it is just too low value for me to even consider spending more than ~10 AA on it, let alone 1000.
  3. Uhh, that's extremely uncharitable. What about I don't like the new system because it removes choice and has utterly horrible UI? Like why can't I track achievements and Wizard's vault at the same time? Who came up with this crap?

The post is nice effort, but it is missing a lot of rewards from the old system AND it assumes that you actually do all of the stuff in the new system (which you almost never did in old dailies). So the final evaluation is unfairly favoring new system A LOT. I hope you don't make any conclusions based on it.
  5. Yea, so they did not remove 100% rewards from PvP dailies, just 90%. My point was that the previous system incentivized people to try pvp, new one does not.
  6. Who cares about 2g? Just some silly PvE players . . . but that is what will actually kill PvP: there is NO reason for PvE/WvW players to go play PvP. And PvP had such high population before, it can take it, right? New daily system is designed to officially remove PvP as a game mode.
  7. Yes, in WvW. But what about PvP? If you choose all three game modes it seems to me like PvP rewards are worse for you now. EDIT: especially as you can just choose different game modes, there are no more any incentives for non-PvP players to actually play PvP.
  8. Well how come this is not fixed yet. Is the bug too subtle (lol)? Changing one number too complicated? Seriously I don't care how long their build pipeline is, this is one of the most obvious hotfixes ever.
  9. I am looking forward to all the surprised pikachu faces when people will realize (AGAIN) that Arenanet really sucks at balancing and the stupid weaponmaster thing will result in even more of chaos in the 6/27 style.
  10. Ugh, why does anyone think mirage was overperforming in PvP? Did it win some tournaments or what, I have seen people just dunk on it and say it needs buffs. These two nerfed dodges are just making it even more of a glass cannon which will make it worse for vast majority of players while probably enabling some stupid combination in hands of pros. I bet you will feel need to nerf it again, like with PvE staff/staff. 3 nerfs in a row, nice. These are totally unforced obvious errors, what is your balance team smoking.
  11. I do know how templates for legendaries work. This is an issue for the one equipment template having selected dye, then the dye gets (in the same template) somehow changed on its own by changing template / game mode.
  12. Dyes in most equipment templates (on a single character - mesmer) on chest armor keep reverting to some weird scheme. Not the default one, as I used the same default colors for the same skins for over 6months. It also isn't always the same one, sometimes it is just one color out of 3. It happens sometimes when I swap equipment templates, sometimes when changing instances (e.g. open world -> pvp lobby etc.). I am not sure when it started, but I think it is happening since I have gotten my legendary chest armor (Ardent Glorious Raiment). I have other light armor legendaries (both wvw and pvp) and they don't seem to be affected by this bug. I have Win10, play on Thinkpad with two graphics cards (integrated and dedicated one). I don't know what other info might be relevant. I am not interested in fashion wars, but the changed dyes are kinda ugly because they don't match rest of the gear, so I change it back eventually . . . and then it gets changed again. And again and again.
  13. Dailies are great for casuals. Do one little thing and get extra reward. Sometimes explore something new because it forces you to find new JP or something. It's content people like. People can play the game differently, right? And people continue to ignore it's not just me, I was pretty fine with doing the WvW / PvP dailies. But my even-more-casual friends were more affected and they still like dailies the most on the game. Also people talked about how you can "just dip a little bit" into expansions and such - and that's just bad, "just" entering HoT would have spoiled pretty big reveal from LWS2 for you, one of the highlights of the story so far (I am at start of LWS3). Forcing people to do that to unlock mounts or mastery system was just very bad game design, and I am glad ArenaNet changed it. Frankly I would likely not continued playing the game had I started before the change.

The park-char-at-chest thing is new to me, thanks for the tip. I guess I have another thing to research 😄 And map chat was - as always - very helpful, apparently I should not go to PoF zones if I want to avoid spoilers. WvW dailies are apparently easy to do even as a newbie in edge of mists, so I will count with that more. And nudge friends to catch up on story asap - though it is unfortunate that you can't do that as a group. EDIT: and thanks for all the tips and responses! Community in GW2 seems great so far 🙂

Casual player's 1st world problem: I like to play story in order, and like to explore the world before moving on in the story . . . so I - fresh 80 - did not even finish personal story line let alone some LW / HoT content. So why do I get dailies to complete events or see vistas in Crystal Desert? (PoF) Sure I bought the expansion, but only because I did not see an option to buy just the base game. And the game was _really annoying_ in restrictions to free accounts (I couldn't send anything to friends, wtf?), and I don't mind the money or supporting the game. But now it feels like I can't do dailies anymore, unless I travel accross the entire world. I will end up doing WvW dailies instead (or figure out how do I get to Crystal Desert, can't see any related asura gate in LA), so I will get over it, but my even more casual friends will probably just stop doing dailies on 80. They don't want to pvp or figure out what the crystal desert even is. One friend did not buy full game yet, seems like she was the smartest one . . . we will see what sort of dailies will she get, she's just level 65 or something. And I get it, it's stupid little thing, but it is just annoying to get (kind of) punished for buying expansion, at least as a slow casual player.
