  1. I'd also like them to look at participation. It is way too easy, so we end up with people going afk for 80% of the convergence.
  2. Yeah, mediocre companies do tend to not communicate very well, but dang dude, you will go to any length to defend their low effort.
  3. Are you telling me they fixed it, what many people are waiting for, and couldn't even list the fix in the patch notes? Nice. Top notch.
  4. lol....patch has come...and nothing. Go ahead and defend them now. It takes time bro. Come on, they are trying. These things are complicated. Yeah. Go ahead and fool yourself if you like. This is pathetic.
  5. Seriously though, this is blocking people. How can we trust them to be timely in the future with fixes and progression blockers when something so trivial is shrugged off for over a week as unimportant. I get there are bugs, and then there is apathy.
  6. While the complaint seems trivial, it's not a bad suggestion. I mean, why not drain 200g per out of the economy with a bunch if icons? Seems pretty easy for them to do. We all get to choose the mascot we like as our tag.
  7. They should make it significantly more than the base, or we are going to run out of stuff to do. It should be prestigious, in my opinion.
  8. Long time player here, but I never understood why sometimes when in squad (tagging or not) there will be a small popup that shows when someone tries to join allowing me to cancel it. Why does it show, and why only sometimes? Thanks!
  9. Well, they are half way done. 🙂 You are right though, I forgot it was every quarter instead of every week. Still, I stand by my statement that it has never been easier to get ascended gear.
  10. That was nice of you to return it. Most people would have kept it. Usually that sort of transaction is done to avoid TP fees.
  11. Wizards Vault. 2 weeks and you are done. It has never been easier to get Ascended gear in this game.
  12. "I remain confident in ANET. But magumma is likely their peak of excellence" I'm curious about what specifically instills confidence in ArenaNet for you. For many, myself included, there's a distressing lack of faith in the current team. Take, for instance, the bug in the "Broken Hero Challenge - Searing Cauldron," which has become a progression blocker for some players and remains unfixed for nearly a week. While we often joke about ArenaNet leaving bugs unresolved for years, there are moments when it feels like more than just a lack of QA testing—almost like a sense of apathy. These incidents contribute to the growing skepticism about the team's ability to deliver timely fixes and maintain the quality of the game.
  13. If every mastery felt valuable and worth investing in, this wouldn't be much of a problem. The abundance of filler masteries right now dilutes the satisfaction of leveling in a new expansion. I hope they put a bit more effort into this area going forward.
  14. I'm with you, I'd prefer wallet but material storage is okay too. It makes no sense that they weren't in there from the beginning. We'll chalk this one up to the 'oh yeah, forgot about those', right alongside forgetting about the Legendary Runes. Do you ever get the sense that SoTo was made by people that are new to Anet or haven't played GW2 very much?
  15. Core Tyria felt much bigger and expansive to me compared to HoT, and I ended up quitting after about a month of playing it, despite having invested around $1k into the game since its release. Even the thought of wasting the money couldn't compel me to continue with that expansion at the time. Today, I find enjoyment in the metas, probably because they keep the game feeling alive and active. I'll engage in map completion when necessary for legendaries. However, I believe HoT suffered from poor balancing, which led to the departure of certain player groups. To illustrate this point, last year my wife started playing the game for the first time. She finished the core story and then moved on to HoT, only to quit shortly thereafter.
  16. I completely share your sentiment. It's glaringly obvious that ArenaNet falls short on testing their daily and weekly activities adequately. What's even more worrisome is their apparent delay in addressing these bugs once they're identified. This raises questions about their priorities and whether resources are being diverted to potential future projects like Guild Wars 3, leaving the current player base to deal with unresolved issues. It's crucial for ArenaNet to reevaluate how they allocate testing and development resources to better serve the needs of their live game. Unless, of course, their intention is to demonstrate to us that Guild Wars 3 is necessary because of the persistent bugs in Guild Wars 2.
  17. I think the point is, would you play WoW and WoW 2 or FF14 and FF14 2 at the same time? Most people would not. What is to happen to the GW2 player base if there is a GW3? Once GW2 players start to migrate to GW3, it is really difficult to imagine GW2 thriving. Maybe they'll do server merges and one or two servers will have a healthy population. Only time will tell.
  18. Yeah, there is no way Anet will confirm this.
  19. I would argue that since they haven't closed this thread yet, it leads me to believe there is some truth to GW3 being in development already.
  20. Imagine pouring countless hours into achieving milestones like obtaining the God of War title or acquiring the elusive Pinata infusion, only to learn that the servers are being shut down. This game was built on the foundation of accumulation; whether it be items, achievements, or experiences, each represents a significant investment of time. Time is a non-renewable resource, and the last thing any player wants is to feel that their dedication has been in vain. It's a betrayal of the trust and commitment players have shown to the game. For ArenaNet, this news echoes the Legendary Relic fiasco, but amplified tenfold. It raises questions about their foresight and consideration for their player base. How is everyone going to feel if we hear something like, "We plan to compensate our loyal GW2 players when GW3 launches!" In my opinion, if GW3 was an MMO that would be a serious miscalculation on the part of Anet and NCsoft. It would disregard the years of investment and passion players have poured into the game, undermining the very foundation of their MMO community.
  21. I don't think you are going to have many that agree with you. When you compare the content/style of the new expansion with previous expansions, it doesn't quite hold the same level of quality. For me, at least. I'm glad you like it though OP!
  22. Very thorough, well done. You are very insightful and clearly have a good handle on the state of the game. Many people will agree with your points, as do I. I particularly appreciate your emphasis on accessibility to all content. If ArenaNet is aiming to provide value to their players, especially with their current focus on a smaller developer team, ensuring that all of their extensive content is accessible to players of all skill levels would be a significant step forward. In other MMOs, I engage in raids and dungeons, but in this game, I find myself avoiding them. It's not because I dislike that sort of content! I applaud your feedback, Crit. I only hope that ArenaNet gives posts like yours the consideration they deserve.
