  1. Depending on your mouse and whether your keyboard allows you to set up a message, you might just be able to set up a macro which would function like a paste. I don't think there's any speed of typing involved, as the message would appear immediately, much like you'd have with a paste. This would be the fastest way to go about posting a set message.* AFAIk, the second-best option would be to use WARP. As @Ciijay.2916mentioned, WARP can be useful, but they forgot to mention the part where you can make notes. So if you're logged on to a character, you can add notes to their profile. These notes could be your /e or /s. On clicking the WARP icon again, it will open up to the notes, so you won't have to navigate after the initial click. If setting up a macro doesn't work, I can highly encourage you to give this a shot, as this also allows you to see what's going on in-game, compared to alt-tabbing to a text file. *A list of rules concerning macros would be found here. As a macro for RP reasons would not grant you an unfair advantage over other players, I don't think you would have to worry about applying a macro for your RP. It seems ANet regards unfair advantages as ways to generate gold, which you don't exactly do in RP. And I think you could go with the condition "musicians" are subject to, where they are allowed to use macros to generate music, but the account has to be actively attended throughout; the main difference between an RPer and a music player like that would be the type of entertainment they deliver.
  2. You're breaking my heart here! But I'm glad the list is useful. And in regard to the offer - thanks in advance!
  3. Checked now to see how sloooooooow the archive is, and got to say I can navigate a LOT quicker than I could at first. Less than half a minute to get to the thread you might be looking for, which is neat. Might be subject to the time of day though. About the guilds you're looking into - the ones you didn't find on the list, if they're not hubs, I'd love to get in touch and expand my collection :'> (hint-hint!)
  4. It's been a bit spicy without Enjin indeed! Luckily, a lot of it can be found on the web.archive; sadly though, the archive is slow-slow! It doesn't help there doesn't seem to be a place people feel much at home as they do in their own little guilds. But, to actually find those guilds... Got a feeling there's still a good amount of guilds out who could be added, but they've simply managed dodge my attempts. Welcome back-ish, in that case? Here's hoping you'll find a pleasant guild to fit right in! If you've not been lucky (or simply don't feel it's right for you yet) - come check out WARP if you've not already!
  5. It's been nothing but a delight to work on the list! I get to meet a lot of absolutely wonderful people who want to build up the community much as I do ^^
  6. Unfamiliar with the characters you mentioned, so moving on to your questions: "Do I prioritise aesthetics or mechanics?" Aesthetics! It's roleplay, after all! Go with a look you feel best translates the appearance of the characters you want to go for, and then simply do the roleplay when it comes to mechanics. Unless you're actively going to incorporate PvP into your RP (which I would strongly advise against, for obvious reasons besides RP being make believe), you don't need to have the mechanics being the same. || Edited to mention: I feel RPing a character that already exists, is really just cosplay. || I may be biased here because I got several cases where characters are OOC a class they are not IC. My most notable would be a pistol-wielding necromancer who dresses like a commoner, who I made a ranger alt for when he was given a tiger. While all classes have clothes that pass for a commoner's, rangers don't have pistols while necromancers don't have tigers. Having a pet is enough of an identifying trait that I decided it outweighs necromancer skills and having a visible weapon equipped - if I do want the specific name of a skill, I can simply use the wiki, and if I want to use the pistol in RP, I can always emote it being present. Other of my cases are a thief who enjoys loose-fitting leaves enough I use a mesmer model instead of a thief's, and a staff guardian duplicated as druid who owns a fern hound. While I personally don't have an issue with classes being portrayed by other classes for cosmetic/storytelling reasons, I'm aware this doesn't work for everybody. If your RP partner may not be aware of the class your character is, at worst you simply mention in an emote or in a /w. Hope this helps, and wishing you luck finding out what fits best for you!
  7. Commoners with potential, of which most have a mental or physical disability they've overcome, or are working on overcoming. Often times, their biggest enemy is themselves. If they end up being powerful, it's through years of RP during which they grew, or when they somehow keep rolling high whenever I'm doing an ability check with dice.
  8. I've recently begun collecting active RP guilds in hopes to make the community easier accessible. The result can be found at https://gw2rp.carrd.co/ I'd love to add more guilds, for which there are a few requirements: Be active - this means you actively RP in game Be open to having new members Be accepting of the fact I'll reach out to you at least every other month to check in with you Please reach out to me if you believe your guild meets these requirements, or if you know of a guild that does, but is not listed yet. All guilds listed have agreed on being added to the list; having guilds advertised somewhere I can reach them, does not mean they are automatically added. To reach out to me, find zerwid on Discord, or Selirnon in-game!
  9. Parts of the GW2RP website are still available through wayback as people had been working on archiving the website. While the forum as was, is gone, many valuable discussions are still available. You may find what is backed up of the site through here (assuming it's allowed to post this link here)
  10. I've not really given this much thought for most of mine, though I know Darin's first thing was "Is there somebody waiting for me?" Spoiler: there was nobody and he's still trying to give his life meaning.
  11. Server: EU Character’s in-game name: Tirmaric (Zinnaren whenever he does not have iboga with him) Character’s gender/pronouns: Tir is male He/him Character’s species: Sylvari Briefly describe their physical appearance if it differs from their character model: Tirmaric's face is smooth, and does not have the assymetric lines the in-game model has. Most notably, he lacks the typical nose with two nostrils. Instead, he has a rather smooth face with six slits. These slits are virtually invisible until he becomes annoyed or smiles widely, and they flare out. He also possesses a split tongue, which further serves to make his features appear more reptilian. The unusual appearances of his face and tongue strongly suggest they are the result of shaping. Less pleasant looking are scars where he had been pruned, which now form coppery bands between his original body and the regrown parts. The bands can be seen clearly halfway both ears, and at seven of his fingers. Both thumbs and the index finger of his right hand do not have these scars. Is there any place a stranger might have seen them before in passing? Highly likely: anyone who has visited Brigid's Overlook. Quite likely: those frequenting the area around Ventry Bay. Likely: the Grove, and the paths between the Grove and the Sperrins. Less likely: Lion's Arch, and some locations throughout Tyria where he and his captain organised a market. Is there any gossip a stranger might have heard about them, whether true or false? "The Black Coroner never sleeps. I heard it's because of his conscience. You know, the experiments.." "So he's got these trees, or so the rumours go, and he can grow sylvari on them. They don't have a mind, but they're close to the real deal as you can get. I'm telling you - there's something off about him!" "Word has it he escaped a court, and that's why he hates everything Nightmare." "There are no limits. He will give his all when modifying you. Actually, I'm considering having him grow me another set of arms. I know he can do it. Can you imagine the look on the Mother's face when I show her?" "All I's 'ear' 'bout 'im is 'e's a smartir one. Ain' gonn' be keepin' secrits 'roun' 'im. Ah so's they sayin'." "In possession of remarkably blood-thirsty vegetation. My informants have determined his pet parasites have a more intractable culmination than previously anticipated: humanoid shape with similar motoric capacities, and the same desire for animal based nutrition." "The best prosthetics in all of Tyria! And when you're sylvari, it's not just the removable ones, but they can be grafted on you! How cool is that?" "Deals with criminals. I heard whispers he's been doing business with this one charr in the Arch. It's big, I'm telling you!" "More arrogant than the average asura, but a bit more forgiving as well. Usually. Sometimes? Just don't annoy him." Additional info: Tir is a warden coroner, and second in command to Warden Captain Staelwyr at Brigid's Overlook. When not investigating deaths, can be found teaching and mending. His specialisations are in regards to restoration and halting of physical deterioration. Exceptionally skilled with mending, shaping, and cooking. This person plays a huge role in the warden-owned company Two of Cups. Truly dislikes Nightmare - he will never mend somebody who has fallen. Distrusts Soundless sylvari until he is entirely certain they are Dreamers. If you need any of the items from any of the pages of Two of Cup's widely spread list of products and services, or need to have something similar produced, reaching out to Tir may be helpful to you. https://imgur.com/j4360vi
  12. Something you're hinting at exists, and there are users for it as well! WARP is what you're looking for. It's generally very stable, and it being a work in progress means things will only get better along the line. You may find there's a link to the discord on the linked website. Hope this helps!
  13. As I'm not sure how to close threads on here (or edit the title and such matters, far as this is possible), I'll just respond with the thread I started on the RP forum guildwars2roleplayers.com, where I got a response. In case anybody is interested. Click here for link to guildwars2roleplayers.com
  14. I have a guardian who is an avid magic user and prefers ranged combat over anything close. The more use of fire and spirit whatevers, the better. Recently he has been developing his skills immensely, and been focusing on any and all magic tomes he can get his branches on. If he is successful in figuring out something new, he figures that maybe he will finally find his place in the world. Add to this a newfound excitement to create things, and you get the image of somebody itching to come up with ways to bring their knowledge into the world around them. In Darin's case this means he's combining the physical presence of spirit weapons with the firebrand's mantras and manifestation of virtues to tomes; the most notable result is floating sigils which can produce certain vibrations, and have effects usually connected to the guardian class. Similar to how guardians can draw in the air to charge a spell, only now the drawing lasts far longer and is interactive up to a degree. The effects of these sigils are of more personal nature, and burn on contact, or heal, but they can also aid him in composing melodies with these types of effects. So he is heading in a less than usual direction, and I would like some feedback regarding how he fits in lore-wise, were I to have skipped over a thing or nine. My focus in general is to be lore strict, but because I feel creativity outside of general class specific skills is a bit limited, I would like some feedback regarding how fitting my character's development would be in the GW2 universe. While I like to think I'm still well within the lines, I hope to have some feedback from others. In advance I'll be clear that I will not change my character or undo his development, as I feel this would not do him justice. I mainly want to know so I can communicate clearly to other players what they may expect were they to run into my character.
  15. Recently found out that the site is unavailable here as well. As per your your comments - if you go to Divinity's Reach, chance is you'll run into players tagged up with Wandering Roleplayers [RP]. Simply toss them a whisper and you should be good to go from there.
