  1. OP: Blind spam is out of hand. Ppl playing Holo: bUt WUt abOuT RanGeR pEt???
  2. Hi rng, I just read through this thread from the start. I found it pretty interesting and fun (even if a bit obnoxious), and I hope you do another in the future. My main takeaway is realizing that I don't always assume the enemy will make the best rotations. Of course they often probably won't (probably especially on NA), but preparing for their strongest move is better than preparing for a weaker one. Bon voyage.
  3. Not only that, but he just runs solo up to clocktower and YOLOs into certain death over and over again. Not that it matters, enemy team was just meme-ing. But this is a very good example of how not to play necromancer.
  4. in the current meta? yes.but in the metta that would ensure after only core is viable?tell me laddie, WHO can come even close to tifs mobility? In a world where we would core guard/engi and core warriors.core mes so no more jaunts/sword ambushes.Well, you and I are talking about two different things, I guess. The OP did not ask his question in a way that specified a core-only meta, so I assumed he was talking about the actual meta and stayed on topic.
  5. I think a lot of people are overrating core thief in the current meta.
  6. Situational awareness, and the ability to kite and exploit terrain are the main things that separate good players from decent (or merely mechanically competent) players. You're whining on the forums about an intended mechanic which has been part of the game since day 1, when you should be focusing on how to play better. And don't worry about the damn node. If you have to allow a decap to draw the player out, then so be it. Node is not life. Get the kill then take the node back.
  7. no dood. class mechanic changes aren't a trade off, especially when that class mech change is insanely strong. fb is an upgrade to core and dh in practically every way. there is little to no reason to use them in competitive modes. Core power burst was strong enough to get two nerfs in the past year or so.
  8. The main issues for new players, I imagine, are the same issues for veterans. Low player population and poor match quality.
  9. Perfect description. Holo and Herald are wild right now. herald got his separate own nerfs last patch .....Herald's nerfs were a joke. @ChronoPinoyX.7923 said: Some people say that about Soulbeast but hey ho everyone wants to kill the pew pew. You only snipped part of my quote. Fixed that for you. Holo is exactly the same as Soulbeast but people wanna murder Soulbeast like it's the literal devil of PvPNot really the same at all, cos Soulbeast is already on very shaky ground in the meta.
  10. Wait, people aren't supposed to get stuck in walls now? I got stuck like three matches in a row just the other day.
  11. Boonbeast counters: Spellbreaker, Holo, condi Mirage, core Thief, RNG, any +1, I'm sure I've missed a few.
  12. Meh, who am I to judge? After the last couple days, I'm barely p2 myself and at this rate may be Gold by the next time I post.
  13. Common YOLO DUO for high rank players is double Rev or double Holo, just run around map together and obliterate everything, stagger respawns and gg.
  14. I wouldn't say busted, but Spellbreaker, Herald, Scrapper, and to a lesser degree Holo are still overtuned IMO.
  15. But if you think that Mirage can't dish out enough condis to render Wilderness Knowledge practically worthless, and that its defenses aren't sufficient to survive a bit of Soulbeast pressure... Well, either you're a god at Soulbeast, you're stark raving mad, or you simply haven't faced a decent Mirage yet. Mirage loses to boon sb now. But it is a very very long fight and sb basically outsustains it.Boonbeast has been nerfed into complete irrelevance and can't win a 1v1 with anyone it hasn't put to sleep, but that's a different story entirely.

  17. You're seriously overselling this, except that you missed the block on GS.
  18. you are either unaware or purposely being deceptive of the situation. there are one shots from stealth, and one shots from 2k range. What is the one-shot you're perceiving, -exactly-? And in what scenario?I think he's talking about a meme glass cannon variant (there are screenshots in one of these threads) and pretending that's the meta.
  19. Actually nearly all skills are available as well as weapon swap. There's a lot he/she could do here to survive, but too busy taking "gotcha" screenshot. The only way to survive would be torch 4,jump down on the point and blink so far as possible. Otherwise no matter where you go without stealth, you will be open for LBMore or less, yeah. Dodge (gain regen and superspeed), Jaunt to lose cripple, stealth, drop to lower level, use mobility skills as necessary to gtfo. Can use a couple shatters for more vigor as needed. There is a ton in Mirage's kit to help handle situations like this, and nearly all of it was available at the moment the screenshot was taken.Did you just said what I did ... ? And no, thats was the only way to not die. It was possible only because mesmer had torch stealth ready, otherwise would be very dead.Like I said, "More or less, yeah." Like I said, nearly his/her entire kit is off cooldown. ("Otherwise" is irrelevant.) @kin korn karn.9023 said:I don't get it. Mirage is actually very strong against Soulbeast. If you have a lot of space to kite and not locked on point, longbow gs is easly kills mirage, I did it many many times, even when they had perma reflect. Unstoppable union sic em memeing them for goodThere's stealth, multiple skills that break targeting, reflects, loads of vigor regen and protection, teleports to assist with LoS, and illusions to hide behind (which the arrows cannot pierce through unless the Soulbeast takes an oddball build with Marksmanship trait line.) Soulbeast's condi cleanse is very poor and cannot hold up to heavy condi pressure. This typical complain about mesmer "perma everything, cant beat it" is getting old, guess why all "nerf the mesmer threads" are gone? Even before they deleted dueling traits. It was very simple to beat them, as I said, if you have enough space and dont have to worry about the point. I might explain it if you need it that muchStraw man much? All I'm saying is, Mirage's kit is well equipped to handle SlB in 1v1. SlB can win, sure, but you have to catch the Mirage off guard or simply outplay.

The only reason a Mirage should lose into a Soulbeast is if he was caught off guard with his kit on CD, or if he simply doesn't know how to play his class. This must be why we have so many complaints about SlB, lotta ppl just have no idea how to use their kit to respond to pressure.
