  1. Thinking more on the topic, I think one of the reasons why I don't care for titles as much as GW1 is because there's no explanation on the title menu about what was accomplished to get any of them, not even so much as categorization. I care less to show off my titles because I don't know what I did to get 80% of them. Maybe the lack of emphasis on them is by design so the community asks for specific titles less, no "LFM, r8+ only". Excuse my shower thoughts.
  2. You realize this game has done just fine without introducing a new tier for over 10 years right? The closest we've come since Ascended was introduced was the addition of legendary armor.
  3. So GWAMM from GW1 basically. Ill be honest, I don't really care much for titles in GW2, there just seems to be so little emphasis on them. GW1 titles provided bonuses in PvE and GWAMM was the most prestigious outside of the PvP achievements, which took literally years to max. I remember how big it was when someone maxed the Heroes' Ascent title and with that, finally revealed the dragon emote. Maybe it's a community thing, maybe it's a me thing, idk. Probably both.
  4. 3x armor boxes that cost 400 AA each and I believe 1x weapon box for 600. OP, on the topic of ascended trinkets, pay attention to the "unique" factor of many of them, meaning you can only have one of that named trinket equipped. This is noticeable at laurel merchants how every ring/accessory has 2 options for the same stats, but it's also important when using LW map vendors to gear as you'll notice many sell only 1 accessory/ring, so you'll have to acquire a second accessory/ring through other means (laurel merchant, loot, a different LW map vendor, etc.).
  5. I second the ascended option. If you happen to have any of the Living World content, I'd look at the zone merchants that use their map currency and unbound/volatile magic for stat-selectable ascended trinkets.
  6. Where are our UW ecto farmers at to crash the ecto economy? (GW1 reference)
  7. Without reading 2 pages of long posts, I'll say this. Guild Wars 1 was still going strong when ANet made the decision to make GW2, at the time stating that GW1's engine could not support the vision they had for the game. I think given that 11 years later and GW2 is still also doing very well, they made at least a couple of right decisions along the way.
  8. Not sure if they're all gone. Last I knew there were 2 ANet employees working on it as a passion project and that's where the post-GW2-launch patches came from. I don't keep up with GW1 anymore, so idk when their last update was.
  9. As others have said, 7800X3D is pretty much the current king for gaming PCs. The 7900X3D and 7950X3D don't help much, if at all, in all but fringe cases. They have measurable improvements in other uses.
  10. If I recall correctly, the rollout for last season was similar to a weekly reset. However, there was a time difference between the start of a new week and the start of the new season, so there were effectively 2 weekly resets in a 24 hour period. End result: you will lose unclaimed AA, but may get to double up on weekly rewards if you're quick.
  11. Unfortunately, not possible to disable it and if I'm not mistaken, it's not possible to split it's function from your jump key. Just try to learn to only tap your jump key once.
  12. That I understand, but what specific scenario would you want that for this particular skill? Also, it wouldn't really be a "riposte" anymore by definition if it's not an immediate follow up, so then the name wouldn't make a lot of sense.
  13. Legitimate question due to ignorance, but what's the utility benefit? I can see it maybe being more satisfying to trigger it manually due to being more interactive, but one could also argue it's an inconvenience to add another key press to an action.
  14. Narrowing down to the greatsword aspect, I would look at Revenant (either Herald or Vindicator) and Guardian (specifically Willbender). Both can be set up for power DPS (direct damage) and both can be mobile. However, Willbender has more movement and while Revenant has some mobility while using Shiro (which you will use for power DPS), some of it is more "feel" since some skills involve shadowstepping animations, but you end in the same position you begin. However, that will mostly come from dual-wielding swords. On the topic of flexibility, both Rev and Guardian are very flexible and can fit almost any role in a group and work well with Celestial stats (great for solo play across PvE and WvW and works well in most group settings, though won't beat someone geared for a specific role). For solo play, you'll still maintain most of Guardian's flexibility as a Willbender. Downside is, Guardian doesn't have a lot of mobility if you're not playing Willbender. To add to Rev, each of the legends that you can use have specific uses/roles, but you can't alter their skills. That may help you compartmentalize between different builds, versus Guardian where you need to know specific skills to swap.
  15. True, but with the chain attacks you had some control over which skills you used. It probably wouldn't translate well into GW2 since chain attacks were basically preset rotations. It may work as a mechanic for a specific weapon, but that's it.
  16. That's true, I forgot about the lack of stealth in GW1. Also preparations worked differently in GW1 and were a Ranger skill type. Basically, I think the only thing Assassins had that Thieves don't is attack chaining, which could be an avenue for a new elite spec mechanic (unless there's something else in Thief's kit that I'm forgetting).
  17. Which Thief is just GW1's Assassin, but renamed and given a "steal" mechanic, so now we'd have another layer of nuance to separate them from each other.
  18. The root on 100b has been probably the biggest reason I don't use GS on Warr since launch, simply because if you need to move (and a dodge is not necessary) then you lose so much of your damage, either because your target moved or you spend a dodge to avoid something that strafing could avoid. A faster cast time would help, but removing the root would feel better. This opinion is based strictly on "feel" and not empirical data.
  19. Yes, leveling can be done in 24 hours, even the first player to hit 80 did it in that time by exclusively crafting and it has only become faster since then if you know what you're doing or have tomes of knowledge stocked up. However, leveling is not the bulk of the game. Unlike other MMOs, content does not become irrelevant because you out-leveled it. This is not dissimilar from ANet's leveling philosophy of GW1, where you hit max level (20) early because "the game starts at level 20." Additionally, all content added to the game in the last 11 years has been level 80 content. It has gotten harder through the introduction of more complex mechanics, but does not require better gear or higher levels (fractals being the only exception - higher level fractals require more agony resistance, which can only be put into ascended or legendary gear). There have been new stat combinations on gear that have been added over time that work better for certain builds (such as Viper's from HoT expansion for condi DPS or Ritualist from EoD for Condi boon builds), so that has contributed to power creep, but that's not necessarily vertical progression.
  20. Each expansion will likely continue to provide a shared inventory slot, so the portal scroll can go there. Plus, I believe Arborstone teleport wasn't available from lounges prior to SOTO release, so previous expansion hubs may be added there. But yes, a way to condense tomes/scrolls would be great.
  21. So I take it you're not using an exotic rarity sigil in it if it's telling you to use something of a higher rarity?
  22. An Exquisite Ruby Jewel is higher quality than a Ruby Orb. That being said, that leaves you without a rune, so when you're underwater you won't get the 6th rune bonus as the one in your headgear slot doesn't count.
  23. There was a dev working on it as a side project at one point, but he's sadly left the company since then. However, as linked above, a forum or Google search will come up with several different methods of setting up a controller. It'll have its limitations, but it's more than sufficient for combat for those that choose to do it. While curious about it myself, I've never taken the time to get it right, so let us know how it works out for you.
