  1. There's no reason to assume it works differently. If they weren't removed, there would eventually be hundreds of tasks and no reason to have a cap. Unclaimed tasks will likely be automatically claimed when it resets. Other tasks (and chests) are automatically claimed, with the exception of the daily login. Festival tasks will likely remain until it resets. At most they'd hide any tasks that weren't completed.
  2. Except for the daily login, completed tasks are automatically claimed at reset, including the completion chest, but it doesn't trigger the achievement, so no 10 AP.
  3. Toggle the action camera on and off to fix it. When you use the skyscale fireball, it temporarily enables the action camera so you can aim. If the cutscene happens or you change maps while you're aiming, it causes this problem.
  4. They can show the total size because it doesn't change. When GW2 downloads files, it first checks if it can patch an existing file, if not, it tries to download a compressed version of the file, and if that's not available, it downloads the raw file. GW2 does know the total size of what it needs, but the problem is patching existing files, which is completely unknown and can drastically change the size. GW2 is unique in that they can patch a file from any prior version, which they dynamically create on request. They could simply show the total remaining size, but it would be just as meaningless as the file count unless you used -nodelta to force GW2 to only download full files.
  5. The dodge daily doesn't actually require dodging an attack, you can just dodge randomly while in combat and it'll count.
  6. GW2 downloads individual files that can range from 1 byte to 100 MB; most are < 10 KB. It's simply not possible to reach higher speeds when it's downloading small files, so watch for the file count to rapidly decrease instead. When it does reach higher speeds, you'll notice the file count will slow down. If both are slow, then you have a problem. You can test your speed by downloading a larger file from the patch server. Here's Gw2-64.exe (38 MB): http://assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com/program/101/1/0/3171114 The size of what GW2 downloads is unknown and will vary in size, so they'll never show an accurate estimation. You can force GW2 to download (3x) more files at a time by launching with the option: -patchconnections 24
  7. For a quick disk check, make a copy of the folder where Gw2-64.exe and also the "Guild Wars 2" folder under %appdata% (enter it into the address bar of any folder) where Local.dat is located. If there's a disk problem, it'll fail while copying. To repair bad sectors open a command prompt - search the start menu for cmd, right click it and run as administrator. Enter the following, replacing X: with the drive letter where GW2 is located. chkdsk X: /R (this may take a few hours)
  8. That's only because the UI of vault prevents you. If you were to leave the dailies unclaimed, it would automatically claim them at reset and you'd lose any astral beyond the cap.
  9. Try http://assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com/latest64/101. It should be a single line of numbers. If you also can't access it, your DNS is likely outdated, so clear it (open cmd and enter: ipconfig /flushdns), and if that doesn't work, change providers. To see its activity, open Windows Security (search start for defender) > Virus & threat protection > Protection history.
  10. The memory snares are on the central platform. They're marked with I, II and III, have a beam coming out of them and eventually a crystal over them. Extract corruption by killing enemies on the 3 outer platforms. The power bar is a power meter. A full bar means it's 100% charged. Power goes down while enemies have control of the areas on the center platform. When the power is depleted, you have to collect the floating balls around the platform to power it back up. The corruption crystals are over the memory snares. Target the crystal and use the special action. The corrupted memory snares are the 3 memory snares on the central platform. You just attack them when it's time.
  11. GW2 closing immediately after launching is commonly caused by anti-virus blocking it, notably Trend Micro. What the website offers is a very old version. Here's the latest version of Gw2-64.exe direct from the patch server: http://assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com/program/101/1/0/3158842
  12. That response is a template, so you can search for it to find several samples with and without the GM. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_2_Support_Team was updated recently by Lead GM Marauder with a lot of names, including Decker.
  13. If the sign in button only appears to refresh the page, go to account.arena.net, login, then https://guildwars2.zendesk.com/access/jwt to be automatically signed in to support. This problem occurs when offsite scripts are blocked (they use a redirect script instead of a direct link), so the simple solution is using a direct link.
  14. You can only hide the entire side bar. Select to hide objectives under the options if you want that. The only way to specifically hide these is to use arcdps.
  15. It's only available at night. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Day_and_night
  16. That's normal, so you know you can connect to the patch server. http://assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com/latest64/101 if you want see an actual response (a line of numbers), and here's the latest version of Gw2-64.exe.
  17. I tried it. The green star (it's purple when outside the map) directs you to the tower in Gendarran where you can replay it.
  18. Movement speed caps at 136% out of combat, so you'll only notice a difference in combat.
  19. Spirit Vestibule? Zerging it shouldn't be a problem. It's a simple collect the 3 colors, kill the 3 bosses. It takes like 15 minutes though to do it blind.
  20. If they were to give you access to all of the dailies for the 3 types, don't expect to get the same 3 dailies you'd normally get for picking 1 of the types. What would happen is they'd give you the normal 3 dailies for 1 of the types, then only give you the more time consuming dailies for the other 2. The point of this implementation is to pick what you actually play, not what's the easiest to complete. Alternatively, they could weight the dailies and put a cap on how much astral can be earned from them. For example, viewing a vista is now 5 points, whereas a mini dungeon is 20. There could be as many dailies as they wanted.
  21. Just replay chapter 11 of PoF (Beast of War) where you fight the army right at the start. There's 100 right there.
  22. It also occurs in the story, which is where it's explained, but can be entirely ignored since it doesn't kill you and the NPC will stack on you.
