  1. First, I do not think this would even be possible due to the differences in the armor(s) themselves, so this is sort of a moot point atm. Second, as I too sorta dislike the statement "simply, yes", and this poll requires both sections to be filled out, I will not cast my vote in either case. However, it is an interesting idea, if not viable at all. Having the ability to use all the armor as Skins only does sound fairly cool to me, as having more "costume" options is always a good thing, BUT if it also included the armor's stats as well, then hell no lol. Tis an interesting idea, but the bottom line is that it is not really doable atm. so kudo's on the thought if anything OP. πŸ™‚
  2. That is a good suggestion @Biziut.3594. I myself am FAR from being even a "good" player in WvW imo (the mileage may vary though lol), but even I have done that. @Towndrunk.9562, just choose a WvW zone where the side you are on is really owning the place, go to that zone and "farm" camps and such for a while. After some time, and with a little patience, you will find that you'll get all the pieces. Just a friendly suggestion though. πŸ™‚
  3. While that may have been true in the past, this is a new day so to speak. πŸ™‚ What I mean is, with their newfound focus on the game itself, and their new purposed schedule, that attitude might have changed a bit. And accordingly, just because SotO is now "finished" based on their decisions in the past, doesn't mean that has not, or will not change. After all, the weapons we use in our classes have been set since like, forever, but look... all of a sudden they are making added adjustments to it now (e.g: Giving us new'ish weapons to use). So while it is nowhere near guaranteed that this will happen (as I said, we'll have to wait and see if they are true to their stated plans, generally speaking), they still might add stuff to the Wizard's Vault when it is all said and done. πŸ™‚ Whether we like the "possible" additions or not is another is another debate of course too, but I for one am willing to see what will happen when it is all said and done. Time will tell. Until then however, I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for now, for all I (we) can do is just wait and see and hope for the best. After all, they have never shown what their future plans are specifically, so until proven differently, I'll just be patent and see what happens. So as my Father used to say, hope for the best, but plan for the worst. πŸ˜‰
  4. I hear ya OP, and emphasize with your view on the dailies. It can get quite repetitive, and certainly not generally fun compared to how the dailies used to be (at least for some). However, consider this.... The Wizard's Vault was introduced with the new expansion, and relatively speaking, that makes it still very, very new. As such, I expect that more (e.g: different) content will be added to it eventually, if not "soon". Especially seeing the powers that be have a newfound focus on the game now, as noted by their proposed new game schedule. So if that is true (we will have to see if it is or not), then I have at least some faith that even the Wizard's Vault's daily content will be added to eventually. Heck, maybe even with some of the dailies that used to be with the old system. πŸ™‚ So while you have some good points, I would just suggest having patience and see what happens in, say, a year's time. If nothing is added to it to make it more varied, then yeah, something should be done about it "fast". If not... πŸ™‚ But then again, that's only my two cents here... πŸ˜‰
  5. A couple spring to mind actually... * One that involves a number of deaths a character has when solo. πŸ™‚ Ya know, to give something to very bad players and super new players as well to cheer about lol. Though, this might be better as an achievement. πŸ™‚ * One that is given for doing a total map completion for a zone without using any mounts or gliding at all (especially for really had zones). πŸ™‚
  6. Personally I'd rather them temporarily (that being the operative word here) disable this feature to fix a very bad bug due to it, than just never do anything about it and so cause it to be (mostly) unplayable, period. With many games, especially one this old, Dev's would just let it stay as is as they have other priorities in mind, so imo I for one am thankful that the Dev's care enough about the game (and us) to fix things that are broken... even if it cause a minor, and temporary inconvenience. So good job Dev's; keep up the good work. πŸ™‚
  7. Hey, welcome to a fantastic game with a great community! πŸ™‚ As always, there are many great suggestions given here, though I might add to also watch some YouTube vids on Gw2 occasionally whenever you either feel like it or have some spare time. They are quite helpful, and totally enjoyable, and those I might suggest (though not limited to) are those made by MukLuk, Caffeinated Dad, and others. Though do try and avoid those vids which show the storyline of the game (generally speaking), unless of course you like spoilers. πŸ™‚ And of course, never be afraid to asking anything, as this community is quite friendly and helpful to new players with questions. And also always remember to pay it forward and simply enjoy the game. πŸ™‚
  8. Well, that's at least good news @Marss.1460, about how you filled your Steam Wallet. Sadly, Arnet and Steam really don't like each other, so these type of things can happen (how regularly I do not know). And again unfortunately, due to their continual disagreement with each other, more than likely when (and if) you write a support ticket to Arnet, they will tell you to just contact Steam... again. From experience, and from what I have heard from others, both companies don't like to deal with any issue regarding the other at all, so they pass the buck as it were, which seems to be the case here sadly. 😞 Please try though, and let us know what happens.
  9. I to use my Steam Wallet to buy gems from the game, and so far I have had no issue (as of roughly 2-3 weeks ago). As @Chaba.5410 said, you do need the Steam Overlay turned on for any funds from your Steam Wallet to be removed for Gems, however when I did have an issue (long ago), it involved buying a Gem card. It seems that Arnet will not accept Gem cards used in conjunction with Steam, as Steam & Arnet do not see eye to eye on things in that regard.. So, if the OP got funds from a Gem Card and used them to fill his/her Steam Wallet, Arnet will not honor it I am afraid.
  10. Actually, I just remembered something... There was that incident when I overheard a small child beg Warmaster Yosif (who is guarding a door in the Vigil Keep, located in the North East corner of Gendarran Fields) to help out the Vigil by sweeping floors and such. And when he basically said no, the kid said he would give up most(?) of his rations so he could help out. In response, Yosif was so impressed that he told the kid that maybe he could help out by cleaning some weapons. πŸ™‚ So as you can see, in this war torn violent land of Kryta, kids of all ages very much know how dangerous the world is, and are into weapons big time. And that doesn't even take into account kids who are Norn or Char, which have been known to say that they want to grow up to be the fiercest warriors in the world. The bottom line here is that in this game, kids love weapons (generally speaking) and want to fight against such things as the Dragons who are threatening the world's very existence, and those they love and admire. So in this world, gift wrapped toy swords are perfectly understandable, if not desired by the orphans (again, generally so). Besides, when was the last time anyone heard or saw any in game kid ask for a Smartphone, Toy Train, Game Console, Doll, or PC... πŸ˜‰
  11. I see, and personally I can emphasize with you with RL things going on. So I have a joke for you too... πŸ™‚ "Let go of the mouse, and step away from the keyboard slowly..." πŸ˜› Cause it is just a game after all. Ohhh, and then go watch some Loony Toons... Oh, wait... πŸ˜‰
  12. Just waiting for this to happen... πŸ˜‰ SS-Rank...
  13. Wow... Sorry to the OP, but this has to be a joke right? Right??? I mean, really...
  14. While your concerns are a bit valid OP, I do have a question... What Dungeons are you specifically referring to? I myself have soloed two such Dungeon's in Story Mode a few times with more than one than one character, and I am nowhere near a top player at all. Besides that though, some of the above suggestions are a great way to go, especially involving joining a Guild. As was also said, Gw2 has a great community overall, and if you ask for help doing a Dungeon "slow and easy", I am sure some will be more than happy to help you out; especially a good Guild you'd join (one that is new player friendly). Like I have said a few times, good communication goes a long way in solving many a issue. Will you always get what you want? Nope, not at all. But like the old song say's, sometimes you'll get what you need. πŸ™‚
  15. Again, to clarify more simply if this hasn't been referred enough here already in regards to one's own gameplay, knowledge is power. Power to improve your gameplay, power to stay the same, power to just be informed, power to instead make a peanut butter sandwich, etc. ArcDps does not automatically make you a better player (or play the game for you), nor does it alter any in-game files. It just gives you more info on your game play, and yes others too when you team up, allowing you to make choices. The freedom to choose whether you wish to improve your game play, or not. "You still have to do the work to improve, if that is what you wish. So using ArcDps is cool in my book. In regards to using it to scope out how other players are doing when teaming, and perhaps kicking them for not meeting the teams and/or "your" standards, well that is totally another topic, not to mention a personal choice as well. But banning ArcDps for just giving players more info is a non starter really (for me at least), because that imho is a silly argument. Cause like I said, knowledge is power... to improve, or not... it's your choice. However, after reading some of the replies here, I'm also thinking we need a bit of related humor to at least lighten things up here, not to mention put this into perspective (we can be a silly species that gets hung up on things after all 😁). Enjoy... At this point, damage meter would be nice... If DPS meter bad then why hot?
