  1. Create the Blob Bomb. It can be a trick or trap or like the siege disablers. It does insane damage and boon strip to players stacked on top of each other but barely tickles a single player not in some minimum range of another player.
  2. Yes that would work perfectly. SM was really the only place it was a real issue. Red keep on EB to some extent since the walls are easy to treb; but it wasn’t too bad. And you can get inside and kill the wall repairers. And they were at least being kind of helpful, unlike the afk camp flippers b

  4. Solution: bring back wall repair credit for defense events. At least would get those people out of spawn and into the map.
  5. Heck, I’d make it more restrictive. It should be that you can’t even join WvW until the next match.
  6. I agree and have been saying this for a long time. When a team is so backed up into their corner that they lose their home keep, super trebs should spawn that can hit the keep to help take it back. Would be much more effective than Siegerazer. Holding structures deep in enemy territory should be exceedingly hard. The trebs in spawn would not only be a help against spawn camping but it would be a morale boost for the weaker side. It would give incentive and provide a vehicle for a breakout. Should have been done a long time ago.
  7. Woah hammer trains are back? After reading all the crying about the patch, especially on the profession forum (man they make the WvW forum look like rainbows and unicorns) I was worried. But if it brought back hammer trains; best patch ever!
  8. Really? Complaining about $25 for a years worth of entertainment? You’d spend that at the movies for a couple hours worth of entertainment. Or a lot more at a restaurant. Or at a bar. How much do you pay for your streaming services you got. Or your cell phone. Give me a break with your petty complaints. It’s a good value.
  9. The limit is 500 players for an Alliance. But playhours will be taken into account when forming the Teams. (Not that this will necessarily be better than current linking team formation necessarily.)
  10. Even though "team" and "alliance" are being conflated in this statement, there is a good point being made here. And we would be foolish to disregard it. Hardcore WvW players will tend to join together in the same guilds (they do now, this won't change) and WvW guilds will tend to join together in Alliances. So Cyanophyta is correct, it won't be random. You're going to get clumps of likeminded people sticking together. And if the hardcore WvWers don't split up enough, its going to end up like it was in the beginning of the game with HoD with the Titan Alliance, ET with the Ascension Alliance and SBI with the alliance of whoknowswhat, JQ with whatever they had. Because players WILL group together with likeminded players; that is going to happen. And if they don't group together into enough parts for Anet to distribute them around the teams then it could be bad. And we haven't even been talking much about timezone imbalance. I recently have come to fear that timezone imbalance will be even worse than it is now. Because the "offhours" players will have to group up into Alliances so that they have people to play with. And if they don't, unless they like roaming, they might find themselves in a very sparsely populated team. And if the "offhours" alliances aren't put on teams with round the clock coverage they might just be PvDing all the time. We know this will happen. True, people complain about mismatches and imbalance now - but they can transfer out of that situation. With WR, you'll be stuck for 8 weeks. I happen to be on Skrittsburgh this beta and its been really good when I've been on. Better than the previous few normal weeks. People are defending, making callouts, map swapping to engage the enemy. There's people to fight and a good amount of activity. But it sounds like that is not the case for many. And that is a danger with WR.
  11. Ah, thanks, I had not seen that. So Anet has said that the guild leader will be able to declare the number of players who will be in the alliance. But I still read that as saying the guild will only be able to have the number of declared players select that guild as their WvW guild. For example, I don't think statement by Dawdler is accurate. No where does it say that a guild can have players in WvW over and above the limit they set for the Alliance. At the end of that one flowchart it does say that Guild Capacity is no longer able to be changed. So it sounds to me like in the above example, the guild declares it will take up 10 spots in the alliance, and then no one else in the guild besides those 10 players can select that guild as their WvW guild. If 5 more guildies wanted to join then the guild would have to have their limit raised in order for those 5 players to select it as their WvW guild.
  12. This is one thread that actually deserves the confused emoji face 😄. OP, I think this is the source of your confusion. What you wrote here is false. There can be multiple guilds in an Alliance, 2 guilds, 7 guilds, heck 23 guilds perhaps. As long as they don't go over 500 players they can all band together in an alliance. Did Anet say this somewhere because this sounds overcomplicated and problematic. It sounded to me like a guild would join an alliance and anyone who marked that guild as their WvW guild would be in the alliance. There has been talk by us forumgoers, not Anet to my knowledge, about a guild being able to declare they will take up 50 slots in the alliance even though they may be a guild of 400. That would make sense, but then I doubt more than 50 members would be able to check the WvW box. I mean, they can't even sort players correctly 100% of the time there's no way the code would be able to manage splitting guilds properly.
  13. Hope you found it already. But if not, I see it on a tab on the WvW window. Just a check box to select which guild to use for WvW sorting. Oh definitely there are bugs that assign people/guilds to teams. But there are also people like Image who didn't check the box. It would be helpful for Anet to be able to tell which is which.
  14. They should do a week or two week long beta with daily resets. If they want to test the system that distributes people into worlds wouldn’t more frequent distributions help?
  15. Did you both select the same guild as your “WvW guild” before Thursday? This is not the same thing as the guild you are “representing”. There seems to be some confusion with some people saying they didn’t end up on the same team as their “friend, guildie, servermate, etc.”; none of which matters for the purpose of assigning a team in this beta. The only thing that matters is what guild you selected as your “WvW guild”.
  16. Not fun at all. It would be terrible, far worse than the DBL. This is why Anet will never make another map. You love DBL and a water map, I hate DBL and a water map. As far as I’m concerned they aren’t even a WvW map; more like a PvE map. As for what I would want is after they finish World Restructuring; implement game mechanics that will counter the natural population and time zone imbalances that exist.
  17. Well they kind of did win. You've got to think of it from a defenders mindset. Their goal is to keep their stuff. And to prevent you from taking it. They achieved their goal. It was a win. Now if your goal is to get bags then you have achieved your goal. You win. Its a win-win scenario. Sounds good to me.
  18. I’m surprised also but for the opposite reason as you. I thought server pride was supposed to be dead so how can there be a third of people who would like a community server guild. That’s a big number. To me this means server pride is not dead despite the opinion on these forums. And I would guess it’s even more among the general population who never visit the forums.
  19. Yea, kinda like even to this day people think in Lost they were dead on the island the whole time (although not nearly as bad as that). Even after being told that's wrong by the showrunners. People are funny; they can convince themselves of anything. I do think Anet will need to give some reason to the people who aren't in Alliances or Guilds to play consistently. I fear there are way more people who were motivated by being a part of a Server than we think. And these people may drift away from coming out thus diluting the population even more. I would suggest some sort of "season" which would be the 8 week period of play between population reshuffles. It can't be for rewards because then people will burn themselves out for it. But it should be something. Maybe titles, prestige, simply a list posted on the forums or in game. Maybe make a monument in LA listing the names of the worlds and how they fared. I don't know... but something.
  20. How was SBI the main server and linked with Ebay, in T4 mind you. And now Ebay is a main server and they're kicking our butts? Thank goodness for the World Restructuring beta so we don't have to spend 8 7 weeks in T4. NA really only needs three tiers.
  21. Yea, people have been asking to get rid of or make larger, the target caps since they put them in (one of the Betas I believe, I think it was always 5 after launch). They added the caps for performance reasons (and we thought lag was bad even with the caps). While it would make it easier for smaller groups to defeat larger groups I don't see them changing it. What we could ask for is a new skill/something to blow up balls. Heck add it as a trap or trick. Like someone said above; small area high target count. A proximity bomb or something. I would call it the Blob Bomb.
  22. For the same thing to happen again. And again. and again. Until Anet realizes that you can't allow transfers during a seasonal period.
