I've started recording our own runs. Each time we're doing everything "right" and still falling short because of mechanics. I do'nt have the energy or willpower to sit through them all and count how many skills she does in a period of time, after my 12th failure in a row. But something has to change at this point. We're all running meta builds, we have our group set up split between 3 commander squads and subgroups of 5 with everything right. We have plenty of CC, mechanics are done well, and we're still failing short. Anywhere from 5% or less left. Most of the time with only one single CC phase in the beginning too. Waste of time at the moment. And I'm someone who loves meta events and primarily only does open world content too. (As of time of posting, 4th video is still uploading)

Just sat through two very organized groups describing and commanding everything through voice call and map chat. Second one was flawless. Greens went perfect, CC was perfect, portals up from mesmers to portal people back and forth from head to tail...everything was flawless. At 2% remaining she switched sides, tail came up, bubbled + whirlpool. Failed with 1 second remaining at 1% left. This was raid-level group strategizing and to come so close and still fail sucks a bit. The targeting is really hard with all the adds, then constant back and forth, the whirlpools where you can't even help your teammates.. Just a *little* too overtuned.

I have no idea what sound effect you're talking about, as i've never heard of it. I've heard A sound which sounds like the dragon just making a noise but it isn't high pitched or any sort of "boo beep" sound. Have you tried to reinstall?

With all that said - you can still very much enjoy guild wars with the limitations in mind. We'll never have free flying, but the Skyscale is pretty good at horizontal movement and precision landing. Especially in comparison to the griffon - the griffon has speed, which the skyscale doesn't. Skyscale can land on tiny branches and ledges that e ven the springer can't manage to grab onto easily. Gliding works fairly well in some of the HoT/Ls3 maps and when you combine them with mounts, you get a lot of fun terrain scaling and figuring out different ways of making the land more fun to navigate.

Again, yet another response of -- If you don't like that game, pick your bat, ball, and gloves, and go somewhere else. Brilliant.Just Brilliant. Since you seem hung up on wanting to argue any piece of information given to you as to why GW2 will not implement free flying omnidirectional flying mounts, yes, I'm going to say that if you don't like the way mounts are handled here this isn't going to be what you like. Guild Wars 2 will not implement free flying mounts, no matter what people say or argue about. They don't want that in their game. Their reasoning is very clear - it would break a lot of content and invalidate the other mounts. They want mounts to be based on player skill and manipulation, which is exactly what you described you didn't like in your first post. You didn't like the idea of utilizing two or even three different mounts and masteries just to get somewhere - that's what guild wars DOES like. That's what they want in their game.

Before mounts were introduced, the game had a set traveling mechanic: waypoints, plus by foot. If you could fly over everything just like that, not only would old means of traveling become obsolete, new maps would also no longer pose a challenge at all when it comes to map completion (as verticality would no longer matter). The point of map completion is to thoroughly explore a new map. I would like to ask you one simple question ---How is it that so many other MMOshave implemented flying creatures into their games, without completely destroying their creations? Is this not possible within the GW2 environment?OR is GW2 the great exception to the rule? Propose a flying mount in Guild Wars 2, and there’s an obvious challenge in that its content to date has been designed with players’ feet firmly on the ground.“We knew we had to be careful with how we went about tackling ‘flying’ in the game,” says Cronacher. “If we did free flight it would break a lot of content and invalidate the other mounts, which we didn’t want to do. We had to find a balance of feeling like the flight was natural and fun, but focused on player skill and manipulation, rather than free omnidirectional flight.” They dont WANT omnidirectional free flight. This is what they have chosen for their game. If you don't like it, this game is not for you.

It's not a matter of lore. It's a matter of logistics. Gw2 is not WoW. If you want flying mounts with no restraints, go there. If you want to have SOME semblance of skill and mastery required to fully get the most out of every mount, and every mount that comes out after the initial ones not making the previous ones worthless, then you stick with what we got. https://www.pcgamesn.com/guild-wars-2/gw2-griffon-path-of-fire-secret-design

Day 3-7Skyscale CareFood:Combine 25 Bloodstone Dust, 5 Globs of Ectoplasm, 2 Slabs of Red Meat, and 1 Charged Quartz Crystal to make 1 Skyscale Food. You'll need 12 of these — you can buy from the TP or get the total 300 Bloodstone, 60 Ecto, 24 Red Meat, and 12 Charged Quartz. Take the food to Sun's Refuge to feed the hatchling. Feed the hatchling 3 times. (3/12). Takes 4 days. Progress is tracked as an event bar while inside Sunspear's Refuge.TIP: Stand back a few inches away from the hatchling and your skills bar will turn to an action bar where you can feed, play with, or give treats to the hatchling. TreatsKill any of these creatures for a chance (not guaranteed, but around 20%) drop. Champion versions have higher drop rates. Acquire the treat then return it to Sun's Refuge. Treats do NOT have a daily limit. Spoil that thing rotten on the first day if you want to.You can get most of these in Desert Highlands. You might have better luck in other maps though. No you're not the oddball out, I imagine a lot of people are enjoying it and it's good for me and others to hear that perspective. It was late and I had just finished what I thought was a lot of the collection only to find out I hadn't even really made a dent. It took the wind out of my sails and I was admittedly frustrated, but I don't mean to rain on you or anyone else's parade, and I'm sorry if I did at all. Nah you're fine :) I have heard a ton of negativity around reddit and the forums about the timegating and the duration of the quest etc. I can understand the frustration with the timegate- I think it would've been better to shift the time gate over to the 1st and 2nd day collections and split those in half rather than time gate the food. It took me 4 days anyway, but I was also doing other stuff along the way, stopping for bounties or events, stopping to write or take pictures for other people etc. I spent two days to do the first 3 collections, then another two days to do the second part. (The one I just detailed above). But I think the whole quest is really fun, and making me laugh because I can just picture Gorrik coming up with all these crazy ideas that just might work - after all, we're trying to grow a dragon. So we're taking this egg through all of these different places and doing all these things for it, including but not limited to sacrificing ourselves to fire, ice, drowning ourselves underwater and quicksand, being swept away by dust devils and branded tornadoes, struck by branded lightning... Challenging our own fears by facing heights and all kinds of things. Some of the pics I had fun taking...

Maybe I'm just the oddball out, I'm enjoying the whole thing so far. I'm not rushing it, taking it a little at a time, exploring along the way. Doing some achievements here and there that I might've forgotten about in the past, picking up extra POIs/mastery points, etc. I find the game is more enjoyable if you just make it fun and get progress done along the way rather than grinding it out.

No time restriction/can do all in one day if desired: Part 1: Collect 21 scales scattered around the map (Dragonfall)Part 2: Do 10 events in each lane to open up the volatile magic vendor for that lane, and buy the item that's used to create medicine for the sick skyscalesAchievement names to track progress:Cutting WeedsLife in the UnderworldPutting out FiresPart 3: Find all the sick skyscales and give them the medicinePart 4: Find all 21 Skyscale eggs scattered around the map (Dragonfall)Wait until next reset Part 5: Saving Skyscales (not 100% sure what this is yet as I have just gotten to this part - but it seems to be something about going from various places to get things for the eggs)Wait until next reset Part 6: Raising Skyscales (Not 100% sure on this part either but here's some of it from what I can see:Giving the Skyscales a treat:You collect treats from mob drops around the PoF maps(?). Playing with the Skyscales:Purchase toys from various vendors. You'll also need a Grow Lamp which is an additional 10 charged quartz, though it can also be purchased on the TP Feed the SkyscalesMake food by Combining 25 Bloodstone Dust, 5 Globs of Ectoplasm, 2 Slabs of Red Meat, and 1 Charged Quartz Crystal to make the Skyscale Food. You'll need 12 of these — you can buy from the TP or get the total 300 Bloodstone, 60 Ecto, 24 Red Meat, and 12 Charged Quartz. You can only feed them 3 times per day - so you'll need an additional 4 days to complete this part. Continue feeding them for 4 days, then wait until next reset...The rest is unknown still (Edited for formatting)
