  1. But technically isn’t. Just a person camping the area to farm it. Which happens a lot in MMOs. PS. Your response is great and helps explained it to people that may have never experienced this type of farming.
  2. I don’t think it is allowed. It may just take a while to do a ban wave or something.
  3. I enjoy the game. Of course I wasn’t here at the beginning but as a new player I enjoy it. I don’t feel it’s too easy but I don’t feel it’s hard either just a nice casual pace. I can pick it up for a few hours and play it during the work week and then go crazy on the weekend and still feel I’m accomplishing SOMETHING but not necessarily blowing through content.
  4. I can agree with all of this. I’m sure it’s a tough balance as well. I don’t envy their job. I personally enjoy the game. Sure, a few things I’m like “meh” on but overall those things are so trivial compared to the issues I have with other games.
  5. So now we are getting somewhere. Reasonable discussion. Would you say one of the keys to a modern day mmorpg staying alive is to entice new players to try the game and remain playing it? Here is my beef lately just in the short time I’ve joined the forums. Outsider perspective. Almost every time a newer player points out things they don’t like the veterans (who have already done these things) shoot down their feelings about it. How is that supposed to keep things rolling. Honestly I’m glad I played the game first. Had I read the forums first I’d have not ever got started and would have missed out on an amazing game.
  6. And this has a very low sampling size. Care to guess the margin of error?
  7. Why? I can think of a million things I’d take more offense to than being called a “fan” of something I enjoy. When you enjoy something you view it oftentimes with tunnel vision unable to see other’s points of view. Very few of the opposition posts to OP make me believe they are even ATTEMPTING to see his/her point of view. That is not the behavior of a discussion at all. That is the behavior of a debate/argument. Some did recognize their point of view but most were like “it’s fine deal with it”. That’s what creates these situations not some newcomer like me pointing out such things for what they really are.
  8. They weren’t that accurate this last election either to be fair no matter which ones you read.
  9. That includes a boost ofc. You can’t do that without the boost naturally. The PvP is for gear. (That gear IS top tier too)
  10. Generous… I’d guess 3% MAYBE. 400-500k is a lot of people. I’ve seen mostly the same people here and it was under 100. Granted I haven’t counted and I’m sure I miss a lot so 3% is me trying to be aware of that.
  11. Yes they do. I just got a 80 boost on WotLK Classic when it first re launched. 80 is max lvl on WotLK classic. You just got to do them early. I think first two weeks or something like that on WotLK then they went to 70 or something. But at first they were selling this like $100+ pack with 80 and a whole bunch of other little things in it. I dunno if they are doing it for Dragonflight but WotLK Classic was definitely doing it at first when Blizz relaunched it this year. SWTOR you are fully geared and max leveled in a week easy doing PvP ever since they did away with PvP specific gear and let you earn gear just doing PvP. I dunno about FF never played it. Heard it was good but honestly I like GW 2 so I’ll be here a while.
  12. I’m doing a cosplay event and I’d like to go as a GW 2 character. I am thinking about Riel Darkwater or Doc Howler. What do you guys think?
  13. They probably just have the extra time. I don’t think forum polls are a good reflection of the playerbase either. I sure know 500k people don’t frequent this forum daily and that’s the projected playerbase daily from most sites I’ve read about 400-500k. So to even judge a margin or possible error percentage is folly. The average gamer nowadays doesn’t even care about forums it’s obvious in the decline of forums and their activity. They have been replaced by social media.
  14. Not with new top tier gear no but good enough and raid ready to get it yes absolutely. 5 minutes on the AH. Unless you are in early access then probably not. You also don’t have to pay cash for a sub anymore you can buy tokens for gold on the AH which gives you 30 day sub. You also don’t have to grind the gold for the skills really if you boost. With SWTOR it’s simple. Boost the PvP a week. Full end game gear. There is no difference between PvP and PvE gear in SWTOR now so as long as you sub and can queue as much as you want you can get it quick. I would like to reiterate THIS is why I quit those games. It’s too easy.
  15. Hey! I’m pretty sure both of our computers are Linux. I’ll ask my husband when I get home to see what he thinks. He may have ran into a similar situation.
  16. Most MMOs have boosts nowadays. At least ones I’ve played. Comes with the expansion like GW 2.
  17. Been a while since you played WoW or SWTOR then. Those two make this one look like a lifetime pursuit nowadays. You can pretty much start with everything nearly. NOT a good thing. It’s why I came to GW 2 overall.
  18. I guess it would be fair to point out that although they might take a few hours HP trains are pretty regular. Mostly because of this game having a pretty decent community.
  19. This was mentioned. And most MMORPGS that’s the amount of time a raid or dungeon with guaranteed loot is done. So 2 hours + definitely grindy for ONE Elite spec.
  20. I thought that’s what you said so I misread it somewhere I guess. I can unlock pretty good gear in WoW and SWTOR nowadays in a week easily. Equivalent to Ascended in GW 2 at least. For instance my last SWTOR char was pretty much geared in PvP in a week if I used a boost. So not instantly no but I definitely did it faster. I don’t think it being grindy is a bad thing I just think the HP grind is meh. Pointless I guess? Redundant? Time wasting we could use elsewhere in this massive completionist style game.
  21. I mean that’s ok you think it isn’t. For me it is but to be fair im new I played the same two MMORPGs for the last 8 years so im accustomed to other formats.
  22. Me too. Here is my view plain and simple. I think HP is a grind. I think this game is designed to be high content(Grindy). I think having to grind HP and MP is a bit much. None of which is a game breaker for me more of an inconvenience that I’ll just have to get used to. I like the overall achievement grind. I just think HP with MP is a lot of unlockable grinding. It’s just how the game was made but for me… an outsider coming in it’s a lot to have to focus on.
  23. Yeah I never did say it wasn’t a grind. I think it is a grind. Quote me where I said ”HP isn’t a grind”
