  1. People in this thread are taking a statement out of context. It's really a huge assumption to to jump to conclusions when ANet has already made clear that they are planning expansions out to 2025 now, and that was at the end of 2023, so likely the next expansion in 2026 is already in the brainstorming phase. If there is a GW3 my money is it being on a phone game that is basically just GW1 but for phones.
  2. I am baffled by this statement. Benchmark shows vindi is still pulling 1000 DPS over a renegade, and not really a contest in boon support since they only measure quick or alac for DPS.
  3. My wishlist for weapons; Mesmer Hammer - Smash town with a hammer sounds nice, despite it will probably be ranged focused on the mesmer. Revenant Daggers - The image on this website has been a revenant using a dagger and to this day revenants cannot use daggers. Also having another condition based melee focused weapon would be nice since revenants don't really have but one real melee option for that. Engineer Ax - Just because I can't really think of any other reason given the mass disappointment of shortbow.
  4. Never recovered? Mech was always condi focused, the condi spec was always the higher DPS. When hammer became available to mechanist the power mech DPS went up, not down.
  5. Hrmm well if it's a gimmick class, I certainly love it. So good gimmick class.
  6. I was wondering when you would try to bring snowcrows in. Your challenge was to break 20k. I know I do it, I was in a team with a hammer pmech while I was healer who was doing it, the nerf to mech only was if you were out of range which they've reduced that penalty, even though I don't agree with it in any event. The condi mech is showing nearly 40k in that chart to, and I am sure people who are way better at rotation discipline than me since I focus on healing more than DPS, can easily break 20k and higher with a pmech. Again not sure what you are doing that makes your DPS so terrible after this patch, but going to have to be blunt, it's something you're doing. And using snowcrows as your benchmark is interesting since the majority of this player base will not really reach that level to begin with, but saying 20k DPS on a pmech is impossible is honestly just bizarre.
  7. Uhh the only thing that happened to mechanist was the range CD for mechs was reduced to 20% from 50%. So going to have to call you on that one.
  8. I mean was in a group with a pmech pulling 26k but in fractals last night, but sure I guess. Since I prefer to be a healer I know I easily pull up to 8k in full heal gear as a HAM, if I go into riflle and not hammer I can get 20k+ easily because, it's mechanist one of the best idling setups out there and if I go full tryhard with hammer I know I got get around 25k but DPS rotations are not my forte, and certainly better out there. There's a guide on youtube saying easy 31k DPS power mech which is using hammer with rifle turret so not nades from a month ago, so if naded it would most likely do more DPS. So not sure what you are doing where you can't break 20k. I mean face it, mechanist is probably the most chill spec out there for DPS or healing compared to most other builds in the game, and definitely requires less effort when soloing some of the tougher content in the game.
  9. If there is a burst of speed it is very negligible, imperceptibly so. But I will take your word for it.
  10. I would wager that if push comes to shove they will start turning the water weapons into land weapons. We can finally use a spear and trident on land. LOL, again wishful thinking but I know I certainly would not be hurt if I could use all my weapons in the water.
  11. Given the fact that so many classes break with water at the moment, I would like to imagine that ANet is probably planning an overhaul of water combat, maybe... I mean that's wishful thinking based on comments about a surprise for the next expansion along with a new weapon, but who knows. I know when I am playing healer (my preferred playstyle) I dread it when the water fractal pops up.
  12. @latlat.4516You forgot Reaver's Rage for Alliance as well, which is a 150 defiance break and stun break and stability for a vindicator.
  13. Bumping a thread isn't going to get attention faster. Most vindicators have reported this too, so I am sure ANet is aware, but I doubt it is high priority since it seems all water combat based stuff is low priority. Look at the fact entire specs get shut down if they touch water, like Kalla, or mechanist, or chronomancers. I mean you can probably write a book on the fact that multiple heal specs stop being heal specs the moment they touch water since many of them need a particular weapon, or set of weapons, to function properly that water combat doesn't bring.
  14. Except, again, if you are playing vindicator you can essentially give yourself near endless endurance, and mirage dodge might get ambushes but a majority of those are just condition based, and in order to make one of those ambushes really good you need to take one trait in the line. I don't have much experience with thief so I don't know if the daredevil dodge actually does anything beyond dodging so I am not going to comment on that. Since I do play a mesmer I can easily say you're definitely playing the "grass is greener" card quite well since Mirage isn't in a good spot at the moment, especially comparing to vindicator. Most of their utilities are ignored outright in most builds, sometimes taking one and what is taken has long cooldowns, definitely compared to the vindicator who has short cooldowns and some of the cheapest energy costs on revenants so maintaining high endurance for leaps is child's play. The one thing that Mirage could have brought, alac DPS, is overshadowed by chronomancer DPS now. It also doesn't help that Mirage is so heavily focused on condition damage so if you try to power build to take advantage of that greatsword, you are not actually helping your DPS. I can also say which is more fun to in the end. While I like the concept of the mirage it just isn't in a good spot, never mind ax itself works against it, meanwhile Vindicator is buckets of fun. In the end, while I think vindicator needs more, at least in the range of support, I think you are trying to put in problems that don't really exist for vindicator.
  15. Vigor I always found to be amusing since in a decently maintained rotation, a vindicator is self sustaining. With Scavenger's Burst and decent rotation you are pretty able to spam leaps in a decent rotation with your only downtime being when you legend swap out of the alliance to maintain decent DPS. As far as energy meld changes, I mean I never used energy meld before, now I have a reason to, namely to boost my damage even more as pure DPS, and if I was able to support provide vigor, which is another boon wanted by heal support at the least. I am sure in PvP this is a different story, but honestly what was offered before in the master line was just garbage anyways, the new line is better.
  16. Spectre requires you to pick ally or foe targeting and why it's not a very good healing spec. I am not a fan of choosing friend or foe target on the scepter, and definitely not a fan of it being a melee weapon but I am not really saying it's terrible. It just doesn't fit the overall design of GW2 it's more like someone pulled an idea from WoW or FF14 and thought it would work here.
  17. I wouldn't say it's terrible it just doesn't offer anything we need, and the overlap actually hurts than helps in the end. Though I do find it amusing watching all these videos trying to squeeze blood from a stone with the scepter, the only build I think it would do any good is not ever going to be accepted as a healer in PvE (aka vindicator).
  18. Well, yea, that seems to be your interpretation but that sounds pretty definitive to me since there wouldn't be a need to mention it if they had no plans to introduce more outside of saying there might be more elite specs. Honestly if they are intent on just current weapons I think they would specify they were just focusing on the current weapons as well. But, I think the "interpretation" is clear at that point. But hey, I will chalk this in the bin along with the people that kept saying the Gyala Delve was not related to the Kryptis.
  19. You apparently don't then; https://wccftech.com/guild-wars-2-qa-arenanet-on-switch-to-yearly-expansions-secrets-of-the-obscure-learnings-and-2024-update/ Here in this interview this particular question it is outlined that the 2024 expansion will be another weapon introduced, and they also clearly state that Elite Specs aren't the focus right now but might get revisted in the future. Oh and to nip this in the head before it gets started; Here they state they not only have 2024 planned, but have plans in the works for the 2025 expansion as well (also called expansion 6). And for context, this interview was taken in December of 2023.
  20. Considering most people don't get that dodge on vindicator is an attack and not really a dodge, says a lot in general. You would think people would realize that since the leap attack does not get a small burst of speed like normal dodge's get, or even mirage's using their dodge mechanic change. Though I do like watching someone desperately spamming leaps to try and get out of death circles. Nomad's Advance and Battle Dance are the dodge's of the spec at that point, and can also charitably say Phantom's Onslaught can also be considered a dodge. That being said, the problem is that vindicator is well defined; if you are playing DPS. But the zu Heltzer stance is basically being neglected or has been getting nerfed due to the simple fact of the ability to swap. However, you can't even call it DPS support because it offers no boon support ability even before all these nerfs came down. At the best of times zu Heltzer could be used as an emergency healer in bad group comps, which I've done in the past, but in most decent groups this will not really be needed. I know in PvP and somewhat in WvW, a vindicator can be more useful as a healer, though WvW it's falling off thanks to the boonball meta which heal vindicator cannot really participate in. If you get the rhythm down you can survive practically anything with vindicator in melee, which is often baffling to me that anyone says the vindicator can't do anything at ranged. Outside of a few mechanics in certain boss fights, you don't really need to worry about getting out of melee, and in those cases we got shortbow (which is really good on vindicator ironically) and now a buffed up hammer which is getting better for being at range. Hell certain mechanics I boost my DPS for a bit thanks to Imperial Guard. I don't consider vindicator ill defined, I consider half the spec being neglected because ANet seems to be trying to stick to this one spec for quick one for alac and a pure DPS spec thing going on, but it's not working, not in the slightest. Poor Renegade is suffering because, unlike other specs that need to use a trait to unlock Alac, Renegade has it on call no matter what and thus the entire spec has its damage determined by the simple fact it can keep calling on alac. This is why I am open to the idea that maybe they should take alac away from renegade and stop trying to pidgeon it in this weird position and make it a hard DPS spec now, and give alac to vindicator then.
  21. The next expansion this year is going to introduce a new weapon again, maybe two who knows. We don't know what the plan is next year, they stated that elite specs aren't over and it's possible a new one could come in the future.
  22. The only weapon that technically changes based on spec, that we have, is the trident. I don't see a point in a choosable spec weapon, even for a revenant, unless one spec was for damage and one was for healing/support. We already know they plan to introduce every weapon to all the classes eventually.
  23. To each their own but your analysis seems to be weirdly off base. 1200 range means you can supply ranged heals to allies who are doing mechanics that aren't in the cuddle puddle, as a for instance. The ambush is meant for group stuff. The only analysis you are giving there that I actually agree with is the portal which I think should be for downed allies to give us a rescue ability. I don't agree with it not being fun it seems you are trying to invent a square peg to fit in that round hole you are aiming at.
  24. I think a pair of daggers would work better for Shiro the assassin.
  25. I mean I understand why it was nerfed, was a bit ridiculous with that much area CC, but at the same time doesn't feel they compensated it nor does it seem to "taunt" anything like the tin says. The only time I really used dwarf is in fights where having steady stability was more important than having Shiro or Ventari. Of course I imagine if Vindi got a decent boon heal setup, dwarf would probably be the off pick instead of Ventari outside of select fights, like Boneskinner which that barrier is quite useful for.
