  1. It was a welcomed feature when the game came out. But since 2012 the game has grown in playable areas, and alas, the custom music feature is wobbly, and often fails to function properly. The first thing this feature needs is a proper cleanup so I can work as intended. For exemple; underwater music takes a while to kick in, and if you come out, it continues to play. Ambient music ofttimes keeps playing during combat. And for some unknown reason, some tracks get played over and over again despite having a fairly good selection of tracks the program can use. The second thing it needs is a regional overhaul; having music for the geographical region we're in. Each region should have its distinctive tracks so we could have music that matches the region; Shiverpeaks, Crystal Desert, Charr, Orr, Crystal Desert, and so on. I don't exactly believe such a feature would be hard to implement. For instance, instead of having ambient1.mp3, we could have Shiverpeaks_amb1, Orr_amb1, Crystal_amb1, and so on, along with night versions.
  2. Stuffed and cramped maps where everything happens with 30 square feet.
  3. Yes, I do. I know. It's the only time I would use them, but then... You do know that there is a lock out after you enter the first one right?Aye.

  5. Some people here seem to forget that not everyone can sink hours upon hours each day. For those people, grinding to get 250 resources can get really tedious, not to mention boring. Do you remember when we got the raptor in a snap because, hey, he likes you, keep it? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
  6. In Bjora's Marches, in the Den of Whispers, are Raven Gates. Despite having Raven's Flight, I cannot use them. A message appears on the upper left telling to get Raven's Flight mastery. Uh?
  7. I would like the arrow for mount selection to be a tad bigger.
  8. Fail to see the point in telling us since we won't be able to use our current credentials in Steam. I don't think no one will want to start over, especially those like me with 8 year-old characters. I believe it's a bit lazy from your part, ANet, not to implement a credential import tool, or to allow players to simply use their current credentials to log in with a Steam version . Heck, this was done with the original Guild Wars...
  9. they never said no cantha they said it wasn't planned, but that they would see what the playerbase wanted. aka, that it wasn't off the planning table. In 2010, Arenanet was therefor forced to delete all work on Canthan elements in GW2! The unnamed NCSoft producer from Korea don't work anymore but the decision wasn't changed.Taken from: https://forums.mmorpg.com/discussion/377215/cantha-expansion-and-asian-themed-content-banned-for-cultural-reasons Josh Foreman who kindly joined the discussion. Cantha was my favorite GW1 region to work on. And I worked on every GW release. I know a lot of the dev team loved it and would love to revisit it. I kinda agree with critickitten about the negative aspect of tight corridors. Most of that came from hitting technological limits while trying to keep the epic quality of the concept art. I think we could do some really amazing things with those themes in our new engine. Certainly nothing is ruled out. I certainly encourage anyone to express your desire for a Cantha region in GW2 in a positive and friendly way. It could be years away, but it’s worth asking for.Certainly nothing is ruled out. Pardon my $%^&*( French, but your yelling is quite childish. If this is the best you can do to support your argument please exit this topic.

  11. Cantha again? Seriously. I was pretty much convinced that every player knew that NC Soft (aka the Korean Overlords) have clearly said that there will be no Cantha. I wish people would remember that so this subject keeps from resurfacing every now and then.
  12. Customer service is indeed a very important part of any company, gaming or otherwise. In all my numerous years of gaming I've only had to deal with CS a handful of times. The first one was in the mid-nineties when Duke 3D was all the rage and I had asked support for a problem at 3D Realms and I got all my answers in printed form in the mail (If you ever see this, Dennis "Headroom" Desmeth, I remember your help and big thanks again). The second time was with ANet a couple of years ago regarding my Guild Wars account because my email address had changed and I got 5 stars service regarding that matter. The third time was a minor issue with Witcher 3 and CD Projekt Red resolved my problem in mere hours. Since I don't have negative CS experience I tend to believe that sometimes it's just a matter of miscommunication. Clear things up, be concise, be precise, but above all be polite and I'm sure CS will shine through.
  13. I chose "Other". Here's some of the things that came to mind: New explorable lands A storyline not written by a high school student gunning for his first D&D session as DM. If you need inspiration check out The Witcher series. Or the "Forgotten City" mod (Skyrim), written by an amateur and has won a national Writers' Guild award. Or check Baldur's Gate. Boss fight mechanics that have evolved beyond the Nintendo stage (Mega Man or Super Mario, pick one). Real character progression, not a rail dialog where I have no choice but to choo choo along despite my disappointment of certain choices. And, as it's been said before time and time again, Cantha will not happen as long as NC Soft is the head of things. I really wish people would get that.
  14. No, its just Anet not listening to people's requests. Many people here have been requesting Aetherblade sets to return to the Gem Store for months and months now but to no avail. Looks like you'll just have to wait for its seasonal rotation then. Which might be Spring. That's what I figured. On a side note, what I really don't understand is the reason for such merchandise dry spells. Just, why?
  15. It seems to me that it's been ages since last I've seen the Glowing Green Mask. One of my new characters would need it in order to complete the look. Has the item been discontinued?
  16. Ah, Cantha, yes, I know a lot of people would love to see Cantha again it but unfortunately NCSoft (aka the Korean Overlords) have made it very clear that it will not happen so I really don't know why this subject keeps resurfacing every now and then.
  17. I know we're all eager to go back to Cantha but remember that the Korean overlords have nixed the idea straight in the egg. That's why what was supposed to be the Canthan district in Divinity's Reach has been changed to the Crown Pavilion. Unfortunately in that matter the hands of Anet are pretty tied up.
  18. Glad to have learned that folks actually "bought" up those gifts. :) Yeah, that's really a bummer.
  19. Ok, many thanks for your input. I have liquidated them into gold. Legendary crafting is well above the time/ressource I can invest. And it liberated space in my inventory at the same time.
  20. Here's the silly question of the day: Some of my toons have completed 100% map completion and others maps such as those in HoT. Every time I get one of those Gifts of Exploration, Gift of the Fleet, Gift of Tarir and some others. I have no desire to craft legendary weapons or armors, so is there a useful way to dispose of those other than just deleting them?
  21. Skritt. Because their limitations (intelligence) would bring a nice change of pace and approach from a gameplay standpoint. And their intelligence, or lack thereof, is something that can creatively be used to create new challenges..
  22. Agree. Engine change is irrelevant, at least for as long as it does what the dev team wants it to do. Back in the days of GW the team started on another expansion called Utopia but realized the engine could not do what the team had in mind so they scraped it for GW2. Perhaps one day they'll reach that point but I think we're far from that. The current engine seems very stable and could certainly be updated.
  23. One thing they could do, and they don't need GW3 for that, would be to bring more mature content in term of stories. And by that I mean serious storytelling. They could also do away with the Super Mario/Mega Man gameplay mechanics which the game game hasn't evolved away from. Take a page from Mass Effect 2, the Witcher series or Baldur's Gate for examples.
  24. Of course they could make a sequel with a new engine with all the bells and whistles but I believe it would be a bad idea. From my point of view the transition from GW1 to GW2 wasn't at all what I expected and believed it should have been made better. I don't want to see the same thing happen again. Now look at the image below. This was a montage done back in the time of GW1 which showed just how little of Tyria we had explored. In GW2 we've explored less since the bottom portion is Cantha. There's plenty of lands we haven't explored yet, lands we've never seen, even in GW1 so if anything, this is the direction GW2 should take; expand, explore, polish.
  25. There are times when I wish missions would ease down on the Super Mario/Megaman mechanics and fireworks super show. It would be nice sometimes to have more mature ways of going forward in storytelling. The Baldur's Gate series comes to mind.
