  1. In the PoF days we did it routinely with 5 on cruise control, but all of them have since had the 9th birthday and have a few hundred mastery points. Not an obsessive 450, but enough that all the good ones were filled in and we hit the keys mostly in the right order. The grandson will be good some day, but we will need enough time to develop and while I soloed a small number of champs, that guy definitely wasn't one of them. Besides, I'm getting old, and I have several more excuses....... Thanks for the advice I needed.
  2. ah. Thanks. So after cooldown it's always up until the next fight starts. That's the detail I was needing. Now we'll always know if the Legendary is not up and the bounty isn't either, we're in cooldown for sure, and if the bounty is up we may not be the first to grab it. We intend to ask in Map chat for all the folks who need or just want to help to rally to the spawn point. From experience, there is never to much help with this guy..
  3. I thought it was on approach but didn't want to bias the answer. When it's not on the board, I tended to camp the spawn point with an idle character, expecting it was either in action and we could join, or it was already dead and would respond soon. He'd watch the bounty board, do another quest, return to bounty board, etc. After an hour or so of nothing happening, the only answer was someone had the bounty and was holding it away from the spawn point fir some time later. Such private holding makes it harder still to do an off-expansion major kill.
  4. Am helping my grandson kill Corrupted Facet legendary for his griffon. I'm experienced with killing him from PoF days, but the question is about spawning him. I understand the bounty will NOT appear on the board for 30 minutes after he has either been killed, of the event timed out. I understand we have 10 minutes to kill him. My Question: when does he spawn? a) the moment someone draws his bounty from the board (even thought they are not near his spawn point) or b) when they approach close to where he spawns with the bounty in their possession. If it is b, is there a time limit on getting there? Can someone pull the bounty and then wait for hours to pull, making others wait?
  5. Since it's you responding, whom I consider a very knowledgeable source in both the game and computers, I'll offer more details. Dumped the cache, same message. "Your item has been listed for sale. You can view etc. and can cancel etc." That caused me to stop selling on TP and wait it out last night. TP issues are usually short term. Further troubleshooting, which I should have done before writing the first complaint: The problem happens on every TP sale and exists on 3 separate computers with 3 separate accounts. All are mine, however, so still could be a local problem, but the 3 caches are highly unlikely to be identical. Further details. 1. I am getting the correct amount of money added to my total in the TP. (sell amount less the 15% cost of sales.) 2. I do NOT show that I have listed the item, contrary to the message I get. 3. Having 2 still un-dumped caches, I sold a few more items on those accounts and got the correct amount for them, and no listing either. Ergo cache dump did not help this issue. Conclusion is that the message is the only bug, and the user's results are fine. It also makes me wonder how long this has gone on without me knowing it. I clear bags constantly, rather hastily, so may not have noticed. Heck, that message could have been going on for weeks. As for intermittent connection mentioned in the guidance: Anyone playing the Dragon's End meta will see obvious signs of server lag. I don't care how good the connection is or how good the computer is, you're never going to beat server lag on the user end. You'll never know how many combat clicks got lost as they caught up. It's likely the same on the TP server at rush hour, but we'd not get the obvious clues. and I get regularly dumped from the game for no apparent reason and my computer remains locked on websites I use to check which end it is, mine or ANET's. It's always ANET. I've not been dumped from other websites in so long I forgot how it feels. So I flicker along like everyone else in GW2 and enjoy the working parts. and If it were server connectivity, I'd get differing results for good and back hookups, not constantly the same.
  6. about 7pm EDT. "sell instantly" doesn't sell. It says I've listed it for sale. But I accepted an extant price, and it was a legitimate price, not the age old bug of an insufficient one. Several items, several characters, both accounts.
  7. Thanks for all the replies. I meant Staff 3 and was also researching CA and just had a brain F. I wanted to turn one of my many rangers to a druid, had one with the master points unspent, but didn't want to spend them without knowing STAFF 3, (grin). I've read the nerfs, etc but I think it would be slow but unkillable with heal stats etc. Kiting is always slow anyway. I don't want to raise any of the newer healers from scratch, but this one is level 80 camping a glorious chest. I several different classes, all at least ascended coat, pants, weapons and jewelry. I play a few of them well enough and others not very well, but they are all 80s. Then an army of gatherers, campers, etc all rangers. Gathering with a ranger is trivial; pet on the aggro, ranger gather, run, pull pet, repeat. Same for a lot of other situations, so all odd jobs fall to a ranger. Pets usually Path of Fire, selected for the task. So Ill bang out a set of healing stats ascended gear and run a druid. Again, thanks.
  8. It's write up doesn't say, but it says neighborhood allies, so might be implying the caster does not heal herself? Various threads say it does. Surely some druid can tell me..... TIA
  9. Server lag from Guild Wars 2 is obscene during things like Soo Wan fight. and bad in many others. It is not likely your internet host, but back at where their server is calculating the result of your clicks. It's calculation delay shows up as delay on your end, even with perfect ping. Ping only bounces off the server's front door, so measures there and back time of your internet. It can never be faster than the speed of light to and from you to the server (about 5.3 milleseconds per 1000 miles) plus some hops on each end from your computer to the backbone, and from the backbone to their server at a 1-2 milleseconds each. A very good ping would be 50 milleseconds (.05 seconds) and average would be 100 ms. The rest is the time the server takes to calculate the result of your key click and send it back to you. The server has too many players on it for that fight load, so it just timeshares with each one, rather than drop some off. You won't notice clicking a damage skill key and it not showing up as damage, because you can't keep track on the screen. However, movement keys that don't respond show up, because you move in jerks, and other people will jerk because you don't get every move of them from the server, just a string with missing moves. Some lag is so obvious you can't miss it. I spend 2 or 3 clicks, a few seconds apart, trying to get back on the circulating waypoint that you go to recover from death from the many one-shots from full health death's in that fight. (with a full ascended character). You know when for the 2nd one, you carefully did a full click squarely on the waypoint and nothing happened, they've started skipping inputs and you got skipped. Not delayed, skipped.
  10. I also get an occasional screen message that my recycler has worked, but I still get far more junk than messages. All the explanations I have read simply say "all the junk will be recycled", but that is certainly not correct. It should be "occasionally recycles some junk" or "recycles junk if it feels like it", etc. As is, it's a waste of a slot in the robot's load out. This looks like poor software that is being sold as "working as intended" by fans who never see a bug. It's trivial to code it right, but it will take longer than slapdash haste.
  11. Was crafting an Ascended chest piece for a character, needed Bolts of Damask, and was short the several low level cloth patches. Hit the "O" key, bought the needed items from the TP, got them into the TP pickup bin, but was not close to a TP point. Logged to an alt standing in front of the TP, picked up the 3 items, closed the TP, opened inventroy meaning to store then all into the account bank. No dice. I could not store in multiple tries. Guessing that it was the fault of my level 21 pickup agent, I moved the items up to the shared inventory box, and logged back to the crafter. Moved the items down to her main inventory, tried to craft the Bolts of Damask, found the items still missing on the recipe (even though they were clearly in view). I tried to click and move them to bank inventory, and they would not move. My options on the items were to mail them to someone else, sell them on the TP, buy more on the TP, or destroy. I can do anything but actually use them. Why is this happening? I have had several frustrating crafting issues recently, after year of lots of crafting. (3 accounts, 25 characters, most full exotic but 5 full ascended. I craft as much as I play). I cannot guess what's going on. Can you? How can I own then enough to sell them but not enough to just use them??
  12. Hmmm....not sure how I missed that! My only defense is that it's a virtuous guardian, smoking with 6 effects on that area of the screen, and the one I needed to see was 4th on a row of 5. I'd guessed the penalty player had to serve it, but thought to get a verification. Thanks for both updates. Edit: typo
  13. 1. Specifically, how can one tell how much recharge time remains for a player? When I click to use, I get a couple of queries to make sure I really mean it, then off I go. If not recharged I get a message that the item is still recharging. I cannot figure out how to tell how long the wait is. I understand the wait penalty must be worked off in the game, and not offline. I understand the recharge wait penalty is against only the character using it, and not the account so others can use it. 2. Does another player on the account being active count toward the recharge time, or must the penalty player be in game to work off the recharge time? Thanks in advance.
  14. I checked this and find it's coming up in March, as someone else speculated above. Here's hoping it's not the two week version. (See my reply above about this January's event. Thanks for the info.
