  1. Would it be possible to extend the duration of the event? The next bonus event (Heart of Thorns) isn't until the 9th, so maybe giving us an extra day (ending the event April 3rd instead of April 2nd) would be a great show of good faith to the player base, as this bug has now persisted for over 24 hours As always, thank you all for your hard work - especially your programmers! Hope to hear from you soon, Rubi!
  2. While bugged events is nothing new, Anet is usually pretty good about fixing these in a timely manner - I'd expect we won't have to wait too long, especially given that they've confirmed a fix is actively in the works
  3. please reread the following: Like I said, this event and the event you're thinking of ("Return to Living World") are two completely different events. This event, "Return to Living World Season 2" has never been done before, and the achievements and rewards are different than those of the former, which are permanent editions, have 4 tiers instead of two, and have achievements tying in to each individual story chapter, whereas this one doesn't.
  4. I'm sorry that you were unable to receive the product for free, truly - as a woman myself, I admire mothers tremendously, and have no doubt that entering motherhood kept you busy (and then some!) However, I don't think it's fair to expect Arenanet to just give a season away for free during a bonus event, especially since there's not really a precedent for it - especially since it would make Living World Season 2 the only season (Outside of Season 1, which is just free in general) to be given out in such a way Now, if they want to start doing this for all seasons and periodically give them out for free.... then that's a different story. But I think just doing it for one season is quite odd. Why not take advantage of their spring sales, and see if you can get it at a steep discount? I believe those are still ongoing!
  5. To be fair, this is different than the 'Return to" achievements that eventually result in the Aurene-themed legendary amulet - the "event" you're talking about was a permanent edition to the game in the form of an update, whereas this event is simply a bonus event (like a fractal or dungeon rush), and only lasts a week In addition, 7/8 of the achievements don't require purchase of Living World Season 2 - The Silverwastes and Dry Top, and all associated content, activities, and meta-events, are free to all players without any purchase necessary whatsoever. The only thing you'd miss out on from this event if you didn't own LWS2 is the achievement for doing 4 of the missions, which rewards you with.... 2 sips of liquid karma. I hardly think missing out on two karma sips consitutes "feeling like poop". Let's be honest with ourselves, shall we?
  6. I have confidence they'll find a balance when it comes to delivering content - they clearly want to be able to deliver consistent content, but also promote a healthy work enviroment for their own development team Its no secret that the studio suffered a lot during the Icebrood Saga and through the COVID-19 epidemic, which was a difficult time for a vast majority of development studios - they've since clearly bounced back and capitalized on the success of End of Dragons in 2022 to have a great 2023 year, and I believe they're trying to find success in their current release cycle However, it's clear that they're still learning balance with this new format - moving from an expansion every 4 years to yearly expansions is no small feat, and I'm sure there's a lot of debate in-studio of where that balance is Perhaps they'll only do 2 post-expansion releases instead of 3 next cycle. Perhaps they'll decide the new weapon will come in the first instead of second, or they'll move around the fractal or strike - as they see what works and what doesn't, they have the freedom to adjust their release schedule as needed, and that's the beauty of online game development
  7. Normally I would agree with you, because 9/10 times that actually is the case, and the meta directly correlates to story events - its why the "fill the bar" strategy worked in Drizzlewood Coast, as the main way to fill the bar was doing the meta, which in turn was story relevant to not only the charr civil war, but also Ryland's warband This same strategy worked with the first part of Nayos as well, in my opinion, as it directly dealt with Ignaxious, a lieutenant of Heitor, and tied into the story well Usually, this is fine - you do the meta, you get some more story from the meta, and it works itself out The problem with this new installment is that it stands out as especially bad not only because of how much of this type of task we've done already this expansion, but also of how poorly it ties into the story: you're not taking down an important kryptis or anything this time - you're just securing some positions, and fighting a wyvern, which while cool, doesn't feel very story relevant You could replace the wyvern with any other huge monster and call it "Eparch's pet" like they did and it wouldn't have changed anything. The new meta lacks the narrative weight of the previous one, which contributes to the problem
  8. Buy it? No, the relic of Nourys has to be gained from completing tier 2 of the convergence achievement - you have to earn it by successfully completing ten convergences - sorry, but are you confusing it with a different relic?
  9. I'm going to get flak for this, but here's my take: The whole debate on the legendary rune is kinda stupid imo Like, you seriously expected a rune to be able to let you use relics you haven't even unlocked, despite some of them being tied to literal achievements? You want the Relic of Nourys? Earn it. Anyone who expected a legendary to let you bypass earning unique relics through strikes, achievements, etc. did not go into this with reasonable expectations
  10. Come on, dude - it's 2024... Seriously...? Clearly you've never seen a woman rock a pantsuit - but even if you don't like seeing women in suits, you have hundreds of skimpy, sexy skirts and dresses to choose from already in this game Don't get me wrong, I like wearing thigh-highs and a skirt as much as the next girl (it's my go-to irl when I hit a club), but sometimes I wanna rock a good suit or nicely cut button-down shirt - variety is the spice of life, after all...
  11. Six, actually If you look at the roadmap, there's going to be two more bosses in the last update, as well So if what you're saying is true, then it means sorrow is actually the boss 5/6 times, which would better explain the 8 consecutive runs...
  12. When piloting an Unoccupied Dune Roller during the "Participate in the demolition derby!" event in Grothmar Valley, or when renting one from Aeson Geargrace at the Iron Legion Camp in the same zone, your abilities are replaced with 5 bundle-specific abilities for the dune roller - skill #2 on your hotbar, "Burst of Speed", is incorrect. The tooltip displays the following: Burst of Speed Rush forward, evading attacks and leaving behind a trail of fire. Damage: 89 (0.3)? Condition Removed Burning (5s): 655 Damage Number of Targets: 5 Evade: 2 seconds However, this is not what the skill actually does - instead, when triggering the skill, it fires two small missiles behind you that explode on impact, with an aftercast delay, and your roller doesn't move at all, nor does it remove immobilizing conditions, apply any burning, or gain any evasion frames. So, basically, it's an entirely different ability that just spawns two missiles at your rear, and the tooltip is just wholly incorrect.
  13. When the event "Help Chef Mellitus prepare dishes for the festival" is active in the Keep Kitchen, Grothmar Valley, it appears on the map as "Help Briella prepare motivations for the Rift Hunters" - shown when mousing over the orange gear icon indicating the event is active Proof: Grothmar Valley chef event name bug - Imgur
  14. Or better yet, take alacrity off of the spec entirely They never should have tacked it on to begin with, and instead kept the core mirage identity from PoF as a heavy-hitting condi dps If they insist on continuing to try and make fetch alacrity mirage happen, then yes, they should separate it from the weapon and just make it a weapon-nuetral trait: "Whenever you use an ambush skill, grant alacrity blah blah" - right now mirage is the only boondps that specifically has to use a specific weapon type for it to even function, and that's not healthy gameplay
  15. Whereas before it was super niche, I think now it actually does compete with infinite horizon, and offers new, unique gameplay Infinite horizon makes it so basically all your ambushes (mirage cloaks) are better, but now this trait will make it so you can ambush a lot more frequently - basically quality vs. quantity Gaining an additional cloak/ambush everytime you shatter (since realistically you're not going to be shattering at 1 or 0 clones anyways) is actually kind of insane, and will mean a lot more ambushes overall, especially on high-shatter builds So yeah, I think this is a great alternative, and you'll probably see it taken on builds that rely on having a ton of clone generation and constantly shattering, which in turn will mean you'll be constantly going in and out of mirage cloak - which will not only mean more ambushes, but better survivability with more invulnerability frames Of course, this is the idea on paper - we'll have to see if it actually preforms this way in live testing - but at least they're trying something new, here
