Finding the bug, fixing, testing, and deploying a change take longer than acknowledging its existence.
I only came back to GW2 after about 9 years and I have no idea how good anet are in solving issues, but I would assume that story / progress breaking bugs are pretty high up on their list of priorities.
Since it's the last part in that chapter I thought I would just skip ahead to the next, but since this gives a warning, unlike when switching the story, I decided to not do that and wait.
