Secret.6813's Achievements

  1. Yeah I lost all interest in playing now because I can't seem to live out my dreams of getting all achievements. I was on a dead server last night where only 4 of us were on the dude and still died before 2nd laser happened. Sad to see anet not even caring or responding about this issue in the past.
  2. I did ask people to slow down and it still wasn't enough time for the vine to laser a second time. I feel like this is a design flaw that anet should address instead of us trying to find work around.
  3. So I've become increasingly frustrated with the design of this achievement. After extensive research from other people posting how to guides on websites and youtube, it appears that you have to hide behind the beehive TWICE in order to get the achievement but no way in hell is that possible with today's climate for the encounter. The boss often dies before the first laser even occurs and if you're lucky because the map has a low player count it will die before the second laser occurs. I have been attempting to do this achievement for a month now and still haven't gotten it despite being able to hide behind the beehive and not get hit. Why is this impossible? Is it a bug? Is it supposed to occur if you can avoid it just once? If so why hasn't it been working for me after a month of attempts? I see other people complaining about this as well so what's up.... why is this impossible?
  4. A lot of you have valid points and I do not dispute any of them. But one thing I hear constantly every time I return to the game and do some solid WvW is how lacking in players WvW has.... I wonder why that is? Perhaps some of you are on the top tier servers, maybe you're not but it varies from tier to tier and hour to hour as not everyone plays during prime hours. Most gw2 players don't like WvW. There are various reasons why and perhaps this situation is not helping the case. So let's consider what it's like for the majority of players who joined in and decided that they couldn't keep up and left. We know it is up to the individual player to learn and progress through the game like everyone else. However, most of you were already established players when the warclaw came out or are very social and instantly looked for a guild (not everyone operates like you). So the question at hand was presented to arena.net more so, about how are they going to help you and your servers have more WvW players. The player in question is already well onto his ascended gear in pve and it's only been a 2 weeks. So I don't think he in particular is going to have an issue getting that Warclaw and progressing WvW when he feels ready to keep up. But just listening to his experience has enlightened me enough to make this post. If one person feels this way, others feel this way. Edit: Also, first impressions are often the most important!
  5. Hello, I've been with arena.net for a very very very long time. In fact I even alpha tested the game with you back in 2010. I have made a lot of efforts to introduce players to your game and some loved it and some did not. Recently a few of my friends have expressed that now is the time for them to play Guild Wars 2. We are mostly pvp type players so naturally they wanted to go into WvW to see what it's all about. Granted I've been away ever since the Warclaw came out so it was neat to see that we have mounts in WvW now. However, though I was having a lot of fun because I understand the rhythm of wvw and like to run off and roam... he was not having fun. He was always behind, always trying to catch up and always upset. We started him on the reward track to earn the warclaw but even that was nearly impossible as all the commanders are so quick to move from one place to another and with everyone else on the warclaw, naturally we are always trailing behind. We went with a group to take 3 different keeps, we really needed this for our achievement but by the time we got to the guild lord it was already dead. He no longer wants to play wvw even though he expressed a lot of interest in the battle design. How can you remedy this? It's kinda a shitty feeling when I started running with him and noticing that I too was always late to each killing of the guild lord and got no credit. I will admit that these groups already had a hit team working on the gates so by the time to commander ran to them the gates/walls were already down so we couldn't get credit for even sieging. So how do we keep up if we are new and don't have a warclaw? How do you get the player interested in coming back to defend their server? If none of this bothers you, I'm afraid they may not care to play much longer.
