Jaxson.1593's Achievements

  1. I can't speak for anyone else, but the escape key on my keyboards is RIGHT next to the F1 key. Which means I go to activate the function of my ranger companion, and hit escape by accident which pulls up an "exit the game" or "pull up arenanet webpage" right in the middle of a battle, and I've either inadvertently exited the game or lost focus right in the middle of a battle. I do not see the justification for this single key to be absolutely, utterly, locked into that single usage, begging for issues like this to happen. I grasp, you don't want someone to inadvertently block themselves off from it, but SOME alternative, like hitting it 3x in rapid succession should be an option somewhere in the "controls" function. I can't imagine a time when THAT would be an obnoxious option, as I am never in a massive hurry to activate any of those function. This is REALLY an obnoxious problem. I do it with a ranger constantly. You can easily see how it is not an even remotely unlikely miskey, since your hands are well away from the function row and can reach up a key off quite easily. If you hit the wrong function key, that's not that big a deal. But leaving the game suddenly is a serious problem., and, with a ranger, you are often reaching up to hit the F1,2,3 keys.
  2. Dude, this is not "base content", it's the final boss battle.
  3. I tried that. No help at all. They still don't allow me to be "logged in" and be at the "submit ticket" page. Nope. Does not work either. Since clearly it's not just a single person's issue, something is wrong with the site. And this is not a trivial issue that should be "we'll get to it when we get to it."
  4. OK, turns out the "fix" is to log out to character selection, then log back into the same character. Relocates you at the BF spawn point, but it does not lose the Elixir effect. But this is hardly obvious, and shouldn't even be needed.
  5. OK, I've gone in to do the champion in The Bitter Cold in the LW3 storyline. I expect it to be a grind, but... no, no, no.... instead, it's obscure -- you can't beat the thing with your skills -- you can't even touch the champion -- you're supposed to use some ridiculous method that has nothing to do with anything you've done to get to this point, the "jungle larvae" in the middle of a frozen cave (yeah, don't ask what I think of that idea. Yeah, I Get It: "Mordremoth". Whatever. ICE. Freaking ICE) OK, fine... But by now, I've died, no surprise, and now I need to respawn to start doing the fight correctly. No problem. OH. WAIT. NO... No, you can't. Because the RESPAWN POINT IS OUTSIDE THE VINES THAT DEFINE THE EXTENT OF THE ARENA. You can't GET back into the area to FIGHT the champion. At least, not unless you're playing with some kind of teleport skillset. So, Now, I'm not only going to have to restart this whole thing, and apparently get it right the very FIRST time -- I get do all the stupid precursor stuff to make the elixir... because I just LOOOOOOVE repeating things that got me to this point. As I have noted in other comments, If I wanted to play WOW, I'd be playing WOW. SMH.
  6. Ah. Finally, something that worked. Thanks. I expected to do it via the glider skins panel, not the dye panel. I could swear it wasn't originally shown in my Hero panel when I looked at that. Thanks!
  7. Yes, I know that. What it does NOT do is inform you of this when you are attempting to BUY them from a vendor or accepting them as a reward for a quest completion. THEN there is no information provided -- you just have to pretty much GUESS if you have it, or search through your dye list, which is easy to miss it in. :-/
  8. Nope, did not see any obvious way to do this. Thanks, I'll wiki it, it's probably on there.
  9. OK, trying to do "Blending In", LW3, Bitterfrost Frontier. Put on the "disguise", started running up to what I THOUGHT was the "main lodge" (up at the top of the hill next to the Mastery point, where the quaggans need to be rescued from in one event). Ah, I see ... no, it's over that way. No probs, I'll just run over to it and jump down. Ahhh, Yeah. There's a spot immediately-right above the lodge, which, once you fall into, there appears to be no way out of... you're surrounded by crystalline shards, mostly, but also invisible walls. ok, so, port to a waypoint... Ahhh, Nope. BOTH waypoints are tied down with conflict. Gimme a break, huh? I see zero reason why this area is even locked down and "unleavable"... if you drop into it. You're surrounded by a lot of crystalline shards, but there is a clear point where you appear to have room to get through to drop lower, but, no, it's got an invisible wall for some reason. I have a screencap of the map and the path I took, if needed, BUT: Just head up to the tippy-top lodge, go up the ramps towards the mastery point, when you get to the end of those those, run through the snow past and around the giant statue, and jump until you're above the main lodge. It's the combo of "unleavable trap" plus " 2 conflicts, no waypoints available" which makes this really really annoying. 😒 PLUS, now I've lost the bloody suit. So I have to do whatever it was to gain it all over again. VERY annoying. 😠
  10. 1 -- when you already have a recipe, It Would Be Hella Really Really Really Nice if the reward selection warned you you already had it. I just picked a reward selection from an achievement box (the Maw of Torment) and it seems I already had the inscription in question. I would certainly have selected something else had I realized this. There are times and situations where it warns you "you already have this", but there are a lot of times when it does not. There should be some effort to always tell you you already have this, when it is an option and you do. In fact, a popup that asks, "You already possess this... are you sure?" would be really desirable. 2 -- I have the "cosmic surfer glider skin". I do like it, but it would a heck of a lot nicer if you could make it personalized by using a dye, say, to make it the color you wanted. Two dyes would be awesome. This would certainly make dyes more useful, too (the ability to dye skins in general, such as mounts and gliders). As-is, I have a crapton of dyes I don't use and a lot of unidentified dyes, as well. Yes, I could sell them, but... that's when I'd find I was wanting them. 😁 This seems as though it would be comparatively easy to code. If not, well, ah, it was a cool idea.
  11. I haven't completed LS3 yeat, I'm doing the northern dragon part (section "3") atm. But I have yet to find anything so tough that I couldn't get past it or figure it out. I had limited issues with LS2 except this last one, which is too damned finicky. My point is not that it is not DOABLE, my general point is that TO DO IT is all too much of a GRIND. And if I wanted a grind, i'd go play warcraft. That is one of the points of GW and GW2, that it isn't supposed to be a GRIND.
  12. Unleashed hammer ranger (Hammer? Seriously? WTF is a ranger design doing being focused on a hammer, kitten? *sigh* But it is powerful enough that, unlike a bow/sword ranger, it can solo legendaries, if not champs -- and I really haven't fully optimized it yet as to equipment -- still collecting parts for that stuff) Yeah, this does seem to be part of it. Speed is an issue, and one of my complaints, given that stuff does not stay up for long enough, and/or stuff recovers too fast.
  13. Got that part. Again, it's doing the OTHER 47 kabillion things required AT THE SAME TIME that is nearly impossible. The fire, for example, only stays up for a couple seconds, and if you don't get to it in that time, well,, that's still MORE time in which you can accomplish nothing. And those shadows I'm supposed to kill so they don't put out the existing lit fires? Well, THEY get free run, right?
  14. Actually, I'm well along on that. I've just passed 10k AP. I've completed The first expansion, am halfway through the second expansion, have done much of Kaineng City in the third. My primary lack is that I haven't yet gotten any Ascended gear at this point... that's a small part of why I've gone back to the LW stuff as I've been needing MPs to go further in the first expansion and the initial Krytan zones. I've got access to Arborstone so it's now reasonably inexpensive to get to, and thus get around, Cantha. I've got three of the four main Canthan zones except Echowald fully mapped and completed. Any specific Achievements I haven't done is more because I'm not that intrigued with finicky accomplishments they usually invoke, plus the way the wiki handles subcomponents is weak (i.e., "do these 'x' things to achieve this" -- they have a means for marking off the top level achievements you've accomplished, but can't tell you which of the 'x' things you've already done) This is not a real concern. Again, one reason for going back to the LW is that accessing those areas is a large part of the remaining Achievements... I've done a large percentage of what is available in HoM, as well as the CD. It's the outlying areas, tied to the LW, which I haven't done.
  15. So... yet another thing to delay for...? I'm already waiting to get the fire, and having to avoid getting nuked by the rando appearance under me of large circles I have to get out of with almost no time to do so whatsoever, which knock me instantly to half health or less, and recur far faster than my only health spell recovers...? Right, and you only have to do THIS while dodging the slam and other issues. The plants form and blow up so fast that it's hard to even change direction in the time they do so. Maybe YOU are great at twitch gaming. I'm older than that. And I don't mean to be snide, there, that's just a fact. There's a limit to how "get good" you can get if "getting good" is twitch based, and you're not a teenager any longer. As with the grind issue, I'm not looking for a twitch game -- if I was, I'd be playing League. 😏 Right... and, once more -- I'm only doing 37 OTHER things forced upon me by the patterns of the game, which are timed too tightly. I just rage quit after a freaking hour of this crap.I literally esc-exited the game. Despite the fact that I really want, for various reasons, to get LW2 DONE so I can get on to LW3 for reasons I won't detail, I haven't gone back to it since, because it's going to be a massive aggravation to complete it. I don't expect it to be EASY. It's a boss fight, yeah, I Get It. But you need to give a game a feeling of PROGRESS in a boss fight. You need to be able to see the END happening, even if slowly. That is what makes this a GRIND. This does nothing of the sort. It's just an endless hack hack hack grind with no visible progress of any kind. I guess THAT is my chief complaint with this, and hope they consider paying attention to that kind of thing in future design.
