  1. monthly reminder that rapid fire+one wolf pack exists as a strictly better version of deadeye's rifle.
  2. Anet doesn't hate Thief, they just love other classes more. You know that feel where you can't wait to be done with your job and finally do what you actually like? Yeah, that job is balancing Thief.
  3. Power creep in general. Other classes possess standard easy to land skills with backstab-like damage coefficients but without the positioning requirement. Some of them are AoE skills even. Or ranged. Or both. Absolutely baffling to be honest.
  4. Good riddance. The fact that the best party-stealth-utility in the game doesn't belong to Thief is a heresy.
  5. Ahh yes the thousand year old predatory method of *checks notes* following a shiny arrow around the map and pressing 1 occasionally. (Meanwhile gift of exploration with the literal brain degen gameplay of completing over 300 Hearts)
  6. This, but in WvW. I am unironically saying that 2/3rd of my deaths in WvW are directly caused by not being able to use a shadowstep skill where it should be.
  7. Ok so basically you have this headcanon where you should oneshot everything with backstab before they have the chance to put up a fight, and since it doesn't work anymore thief is dead? also lol @ "i play thief at a high level" but having to bring condi cleanse apparently ruins my game 🤡
  8. I absolutely agree with you about not touching SA further. I'm just, let's say, having vietnam flashbacks about nerfing stealth for Thief and everything that comes along with it (again...)
  9. This leads to the following design/fantasy question tho: is there any one Thief spec that is allowed to have "way too easy stealth access"? Cuz for me it's like saying: - Bruh this mesmer spec has way too easy access to clones/phantasms. Because if the answer is no, we might just have to rename the Profession.
  10. Oh boy, I would really like to hear the reasoning of those who worked on Specter, how did we end up with the current version? You can't just slap a shadowstep on everything and call it a Thief spec (laughs in Willbender) The amount of forced movement on scepter 3 and wells is straight up epilepsy inducing. The traits still need work. (As long as we have a 300s icd on a trait we are NOT going to use it, please understand that!) Going in shroud feels like a punishment, the skills are simply not worth using. You literally use it only to tank damage. If the devs are so obsessed with the notion of Thief being a "selfish" class, why are half of my support skills not affecting me? Right now, I'm not sure what Specter's identity really is: Alacrity support with clunky, moderate aoe healing and mediocre single-target barrier?
  11. If alacrity was to buff ini regen, chill should hinder it. It is only fair game.

  13. Be a good little scourge and run back to papa Zerg, where you don't have to deal with Thieves at all, and you can drool away to your heart's content.

I wanted to do two things with Specter: Play in group WvW Play in Raids So basically organised group-play (you know, the thing where Thief always fell short, and when it was good, it got nerfed) With the current iteration, there isn't a single group that is going to say: guys, we need a Specter.
