The problem of near-monopoly on aegis and stability
Cynz.9437 replied to Wolfshade.9251's topic in Instanced Group Content
Class identity has been dead for years now. -
Dear Anet: You do have an official forum. FYI.

The problem was there for years now. You get more info and much earlier (sometimes weeks) on reddit/twitter from devs than here. There are also consequences for criticizing it 😐 -
Fishing mastery allows player to gain fishing stacks (fishing party catches) that increase fishing power. Which is nice and helps getting rare fish or in some maps make it bit easier to fish (urgh Orr maps). The problem is, that often maps close and thus the stacks are lost. Unless player managed to "copy" it from someone (which is not always possible, especially when everyone is booted from map or map is just not popular for fishing, again see Orr) it takes again nearly an hour to get 99 stacks again which is kind of punishing for no good reason. Suggestion: volunteer's blessing (10 min buff player gets for switching to more populated map) should also increase fishing power to make up for lost fishing stacks.

There is no ICD on those things. Oh dear. No way it stays like this. No stealth on steal still hurts.

The problem of near-monopoly on aegis and stability

Pretty sure this thread was regarding high end pve content. I don't see how useful stealth (even group stealth) is in raids.... -
To be fair, i was verbally harassed and tbagged on thief by other players (especially warriors) more than i ever was harassed by thief players. By huge margin too. So who has the griefing and cocky attitude here. Thief goes in match, helps teammates as much as they can, steals beasts for the team, scout for their server in wvw, tap gates for their commander, donate sieg and all they get is attitude like yours.

This patch is just straight up bad from the bottom up.

Same. That is why (given that they probably sold enough of xpac) i hoped they would focus more on addressing core issues than just new specs. Atm i have more fun fishing than pvp'ing xD -

I expected more from "big rework". It just screams "buy xpac or don't play" all over again for me 😕 -

Thief has same health pool as guard and got none of the buffs guards can provide to the group. Also, guards got a lot of mobility this expansion (which was supposed to be trade mark of thieves) w/o so called trade off. Anet threw the whole idea of class identity out of window with every expansion. Forget it. I agree with OP, we won't have more diversity in supports unless those points are addressed. -
As predicted, dp/DE butchered by the looks of it (numbers on changes would be interesting to see, i fear it would be like 0.5 sec protection; removal of stealth on steal is huge nerf to damage and survival), specter is still laughable as support, total joke in pve (in comparison) as well. Mandatory trickery not addressed, acro/deadly arts not touched as well as many other issues. I actually hoped that stealth skills will be changed because they are just so outdated given all the mechanics that were added with expansions. Just think about how much effort you need to put for backstab (gain stealth, get in melee (potentially die in process), behind target!!! for measy 3k? damage). That is the "big rework"? I feel like they make changes just to please other players but don't care how it would affect thief players.
-
I felt the same. Everyone gets alac/quickness... we get some more SA synergy with specter!!! (people still won't want specter as support, let's face it, because the spec itself has huge problems and just falls behind every other class by huge margin), some stealth and yea... that's it. Silence about acro is... troubling. I fear they just wanted to kill d/p, DE that is all.

Guard and Necro are always the chosen ones….
Cynz.9437 replied to Yerlock.4678's topic in Player vs. Player
In pve it is. It gets all the candy. At some point most viable raiding strategy was to bring as many mes as possible. -
Scepter is viable in pve.... as dps LOL. They totally failed it as support spec. I agree with everything OP posted. Other classes do it better without needing any targeting. Single target support is not even rewarding - you would think it would eh.
-
Yeah and every other class should have only 1 attack.
-
Change GW2 UI to support... well support and specter healing being single target.
-
People still complain about thief? xD Didn't know core was that good.
-
Maybe it is an EU thing but seriously for past years all you saw in matches were necros, guards and renegades.... I don't see how revenants can complain at all. Eles mains may complain, mesmers but certainly not revs.
-
Because there was cleaaaarly no renegades for past few years in about every match, rite?
-
Ofcourse they made a spec for necro with ridiculous damage
Cynz.9437 replied to JinONplay.8905's topic in Player vs. Player
Notice how thieves can't have nice things for years. But other classes? Np. -
You know some people like to play stealth builds because oh wonder, we play a ROLE PLAYING GAME and some want to be a sneaky assassin. Problem is not stealth problem is that game got so dumbed down for players that they expect easy bags no matter how much this game holds their hands already. Look at latest pvp meta: it is only guards and necros because those 2 had really good survival while dishing out good damage (necros mostly). We are nearly at 1 skill 1 class game because Anet focuses too much on lazy rewarding gameplay. At this rate candy crush will have more engaging combat system than GW2.
-
I really wish the company would stop pretending like they actually work on balance because THIS is hardly balance when core builds get shafted because of some problematic traitlines (e.g. sb5 nerf vs drd, or HiS vs drd shadow arts). The whole reason why we see this changes is just the same crap we saw before every expansion release: let's make core builds trash so people are forced to buy expansion. Just be honest about it. I personally did use HiS but not because of stealth but because of amount of condi in the meta past years. You had to bring as much condi cleanse as possible or you would feed enemy team. But it is too hard to grasp i guess. I truly miss deadly arts/withdraw build but it was harder to make to work because of all the condi spam and lack of damage. You want people to stop using SA? Make Deadly arts (wow, i guess shortname of it is forbidden....) viable. Or acro?
-
SA is considered a problem so they make it mandatory. Trickery is mandatory so they increase ini costs consistently so trickery... is even more mandatory. DrD is considered problematic, they nerf core. See the pattern here? Honestly, nerfs don't surprise me at all. Xpac is coming out soon, they got to force people to buy it - just like they did it with HoT and POF. We can rage here about it all we want, nothing will change as long as people keep buying expansions.

Update: contacting support helped. They resent the recipe. Thank you. Today I tried to purchase EOD for this account. Money was definitely taken off the account however i got following page (https://i.imgur.com/az7dncw.png) when payment was processed. I haven't gotten any codes or a e-mail with codes. What now?
