  1. I've seen a similar bug where all the skills work, but nothing hits. It's just a constant barrage of "miss," regardless of what I'm trying to kill. I'd have to leave the map and come back in for everything to go back to normal. I've only seen it twice, however.
  2. It'd be nice if there was a simple rubber band effect. As you move out of the genius range, the mech simply follows you until it's back in range again. It can complete whatever it may be doing when you leave the range, but it shouldn't just plant itself and stay put until you command it to move. I mean, I see the counter argument on why it should, but as a QoL upgrade...the effect would be nice. 😄
  3. Yeah, I rather had them just nerf the dps a little more and kept the previous animation. It's a bit clunky.
  4. I'm seeing a thin light blue circle around the mech range. If I get out of the circle, then after a few moments, my Mech 'Genius' flashes out. No circle for you? But I'd imagine that circle is going to be really hard to see when kitten goes wild with 5+ other people, so yeah...issue still exists.
  5. For me, Mechanist is simply too efficient. I don't think the class needs nerfed, or anything, but I think the rest of the classes need to catch up. My main is a necromancer. I loved playing Reaper during HoT, Scourge during PoF, and now Harbinger during EoD. I have one of every profession, and Engineer was always the least played class for me - until the rifle update for the Mechanist. The playstyle is just so streamlined that I can plow through content without breaking a sweat. I finished up a Legendary for my Necro that I always wanted, played a week with it, and then...back to Mechanist. The Tower of Nightmares really highlighted this for me recently. Took my Harbinger in there. It did fine and was a typical play experience. If I had nothing better to compare it to, I'd be set. Then, I took the Mechanist through, and night/day difference. I just obliterated everything without a care in the world. Everything just felt easier. Hell, if my Necro minions were as efficient as the Jade Mech, I'd be inclined to stick with Necro and utilize a build with those. I'm sure other pet classes would be appreciative, too. *edit* Just wanted to add the following awesomeness. 😄 Took both a necro Harbinger/Minion build that I use when I want to fight bounties, champs, etc., solo and Machinst selfish solo build I use for the same scenario into the Areodome for Golem comparisons. Other than a single shot by the Harbinger to get the mongrels to attack, the DPS difference between the two was nuts. Minions - 1.5-1.8k Jade Mech- 5-6k So, yeah...just in damage alone, if the minions were bumped up in damage output, it wouldn't be such a dismal comparison. I know the minions each have a different flavor of additional ability, but maybe up them to combine out at 3-4k, at least. The flavors aren't exactly that great. haha.
  6. I have one of each profession and for me, engineer was the worst, with Warrior barely squeaking ahead. My playstyle would not sync up to what the engineer had to offer at the time. With the mechanist update, it was 'better,' but still not enough to get me through playing for long until the rifle update. Finally, I could hold my own and still have fun. Even with full berserkers and a mix of ascended/legendary, I wasn't pulling the damage numbers folks were displaying and/or complaining about. And I could tell the difference between pre/post nerf, but it wasn't terribly so (again, probably based on my actual play style,) but it hasn't impacted me too much. But the salt! OMG, so much salt! I'm still having a blast with it, and though I won't main it anytime soon, the mechanist/rifle combo moved my little engineer way up the list! Good times for now! 😄
  7. Adding myself to the mix here. This last week has been frustratingly horrible. As previously noted by others, it's a real PITA when it comes to metas since depending on the meta, you do the work to get the group aligned, ready to go, and then...kicked out of the game. Log back in, and you're on a different map and you can't get back to your group because the map is full. Tried the -clientport 80 trick, re-adding the game in the firewall, Repair, ensuring no one in the house was on the net/downloading, nothing happening in the background, etc. I haven't gone as far as reinstalling the game, or Windows, because based on the feedback so far, this has to be something recent with Arenanet. Hopefully it gets resolved soon because if not, it's time to shelve the game for a bit. **Edit** Something interesting...with ArcDPS running, and the Metrics option up - R:XX is typically bouncing around 25-27. Sometimes it gets a little wonky and goes from 18-27. When it hits 18, the text turns orange. However, the XX number will randomly gray out and stay static @ 25, and when it does that, I know I'm going to get kicked out shortly. I just saw this standing in EotN. Just logged in..R:XX was doing it's thing and then suddenly, grayed out and static @ 25. Nothing is selectable, no one is moving, etc. Network connection error. Did this several times. Same behaviors each time. Number is bouncing around, and then grays out, and the world stops functioning. The IP of EotN was 34.205.173.184. Running a Tracert on this IP, it times out after 8 hops. Not sure if that helps anything. **One more edit on the following day** For whatever reason, I haven't had any issues today. Different characters, different maps, WvW, bosses, events, etc., across several hours No disconnects. Hopefully folks had similar luck!
  8. I'd really like to get some experience in raiding before EOD comes out, if possible. I've been playing over nine years now. I have raid experience with a large guild from back in my way back machine WoW Cataclysm days, but I wasn't much into it back then, and that mindset carried over with me into GW2. Within GW2, I've only been attached to an inactive friend/family guild that few people log into from time to time, so group content has mostly been LFG/pug endeavors, which hasn't been that bad as I'm a pretty patient person. I have one of each profession, max level, and Berserker ascended for light/medium/heavy armors, Berserker ascended weapons for each, Celestial ascended for heavy armor, and Aurora/Vision/Prismatic Champion's Regalia legendaries for trinkets. The remaining ring trinkets are Berserker ascended, but I can pick up new ones, if needed. So, whatever you think would be most useful with any of the combination of the above, I can bring. I've been 80% focused on solo content in PVE, and the remainder mixed of fractals and WvW. I typically log in around 5-8pm MST most nights, but I can make additional arrangements for weekend play. I certainly don't mind loading up Discord, since I know this will be a requirement for this type of activity. If there is an alternative voice chat that you all prefer, I'm sure I can manage, as well.
  9. I honestly have no idea. I bought one on a whim. I was bored, had some free gold/gems laying around, and it was a spur of the moment purchase. Ya know, I was in line, I saw it on the shelf, and gawdamnit, the marketing department dunked on me right there on the spot. I've probably used it a handful of times, and every time, it reminds me how superfluous the purchase was. It's utterly useless. Do NOT buy the damn chairs!
  10. There was an amazing amount of content in A Star to Guide us. I blew through so much of it on the primary story line that coming back to it later for some of the achievements was a real eye opener. On one hand, I like being able to push the narrative along at a reasonable pace, but on the other, I miss out on so much if I'm not constantly perusing forums/wiki's on how-to's to initiate some of this stuff.
  11. Yup. Here you go - http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PSwEcEWosAGG7ipxGxk7qsZD-zRIYR09DA-eGet an Axe, Horn and Greatsword as your back up. You're only going to use one or two attack buttons, so 1 or 2 on axe for some distance, or 1 or 2 on Greatsword in melee. Keep the two minions up for healing and some distraction, and you don't have to touch the signets. All berserker gear for glass cannon (since you're going to just obliterate everything,) and stay in Reaper shroud as long as possible, and just mash 1 over and over. Low on life force, exit shroud, 1 or 2 over and over until you get back into it. Super chill lazy reaper build. :D
  12. I voted it depends. My primary is my Necromancer. I was LS leveling all my characters (one of each profession, various races,) concurrently with every update, but I burned myself out on doing that around the early part of PoF. When I get the itch to switch up mains, I'll trudge through on that character to wrap up, but until then...just one character at a time for me from now on.
  13. I play Power versions of both in PvE. If I'm in a small group, I'll play Scourge, unless I'm with another one, then if they decide to stay Scourge, I'll switch over to Reaper. I'll take the slower dps fo the boon stripping/barriers/might delivery, which can help the group overall. If I'm soloing, or in a zerg, I'll just stay as Reaper, and I appreciate other Scourges throwing up barriers and might, etc., if they choose to do so. In regards to the slowness factor between the two, I'm sure there is data to show the Reaper is faster than Scourge, and to me, it certainly feels like it, but it also doesn't feel overwhelmingly so. Plus, if there are enough enemies, seeing a screen fill up with damage points like a cluster bomb while I'm out of the mix brings a smile to my face. Reaper is more into the fray itself, and then turning on a blender. Both are good, though, and I like playing either.
  14. I used them to test out the feature, and then do some different build testing (which now, is probably all I'm ever going to use it for.) I casual play open world PVE 99% of the time on one character these days. Once I have my build dialed in, I never used the feature again. If I cross platform via WvWvW, or PvP, I could see the benefit. Or if I was doing raids, etc. I like that it's there...I just don't have a use for it. Back in the day when I would change up characters for dungeons, content, www/pvp, etc. it would really come in handy, because I wouldn't have to have some manner of notepad sitting by with several builds on it, so I could make the changes, and then keep playing. Now, it's down to a single button. Pretty nice.
  15. I'm very much a 'work together' type of player. I can do WvW in small chunks, if as a group, we're focused on accomplishing specific tasks. But if it ends up being a skirmish against other players, even in a zerg, I'm not a fan. So, I've never been a fan of general PvP gameplay outside the occasional goofy get together antics where the object is more just to have a good time with friends, rather than trying to be the best.
  16. Thanks for the in-depth rundown, Shep! When I jump back in, I'll make sure to reference this frequently!
  17. It...kinda does? Check here: 4:25min mark. Though, I see what you're saying. I would really like to see energy refresh when it's wall mounted, so then that could be a little more like a wall climb, rather than a partial rest.
  18. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Hall_of_Monuments Wow...looks like the lockout was back in 2015! Where did the years go? haha.
  19. Is this still a thing? I didn't dive into GW until part 2, and then bought all the GW1 games when I found out that you could get titles and rewards from it to transfer into GW2. The control/graphics for GW1 at the time was a bit of a turn off for me, but I understand there was a recent revamp to boost it up a bit. I'd like to dig back in, and finish my playthrough (once I get a PW reset...it's been a long time!) and I was wondering if those rewards/titles still transfer over? I vaguely recall something about HoM being disabled for awhile.
  20. I dragged ass trying out Scourge with any real effort. I loved my Reaper since it came out. Going from OEM Necro to Reaper was a pretty easy transition at the time. When I did try Scourge in Open World, I'd get chewed up pretty quick, and the trait line just didn't sit well with me. And it didn't help I run all Berserkers, so anything to keep my glass ass alive, while letting me still spill out the pain, is key to keeping me engaged. It wasn't until I came across this build -https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Scourge_-_Power_Scourge that I figured out how to maneuver with Scourge enough to make an impact. Once you get accustomed to boon/condition stripping, it's hard to go back. I still carry a greatsword, just for those times I want to tinker with Reaper again, but end result is I still move back to Scourge. And if you're a frequent meta player in groups (i.e Dragonfall), swap in Blood Magic w/vampirism traits to help keep you (and those around you) going a bit longer. You drop a shade, you drop some wells, you wack wack through some weapon skills, and repeat. It's a really easy build to run, and gives you a good platform to start moving into other Scourge builds. You'll wonder how you lived/tolorated with all those conditions in the past. haha.
  21. I'm not finding it lackluster at all. I'm not solely using it because of the effort taken to get it, more than I'm using it because it facilitates the actions of most of the other mounts to my needs. And there is still room for those other mounts, based on the needs, as I mentioned. If you have the gryphon, and love the gryphon, is the Skyscale better? Arguably. Yet, I also loved my Gryphon, and loved the dive bomb ability of it. I still prefer the Skyscale, and I don't even use the gryphon any more (or at least, until that need comes up.) This isn't to you directly, but more in general for anyone -Do you need it? No. Do you want it? If not, don't worry about it. You're not going to miss too much without it (for now, I guess?) I don't picture anyone lesser for not having one. I mean, is it really elite anymore? Anyone can get it, but how much time/effort it's going to take depends on them individually. I 100% agree on the unlock PITA. It was very much a PITA. And I feel rather unnecessary . However, it is what it is, and community feedback will change it for the better going forward. By all means, anyone who wants it, but rather wait to see how Anet changes the criteria...wait. It's ok to wait. But don't let it stop you from slowly picking away at it because perhaps you're fighting the bias of the criteria needed for it, rather than the end result. Was it worth it for me to spend several days in a row, hard grinding to get everything needed? Not really. I could have easily waited, and took my time. Am I happy I have it now? Yes. Yes, I am. Would I do it again? Well, of course. But I may or may not put as much effort into it as I did. That's all I'm advocating now. I personally think it's a great mount, and worth an effort to obtain it. Just like the gryphon.
  22. It was a trial, but unlocking the Skyscale was very much worth it. Once all masteries were unlocked, it's rare that I ever switch to another mount unless I have a very specific reason (super speed/wall breaks on the beetle, Jackal sand portals, or sweeping up multiple targets with Raptor for example.) All the mounts, where compared apples to apples with specific tasks will be better than the Skyscale, but if you don't mind that little bit of niche loss, this dragon shines in practically all aspects of mount travel. Yes, it's a PITA to get, but it's doable by anyone with a time investment. Keep picking at it, and you'll eventually get there. You're not 'missing' anything from it, if you don't have it, and there are so many now, that the 'shiny' is losing it's luster. The worst part of the grind was the currency for the saddle, but again, if you just give yourself x amount of time per session to minimize burnout, the currencies will add up in no time, and soon you'll be dragocoptering, too. :D
  23. I'm a clicker, but I would be interested to know how folks have their mouse setup (as well as what model of mouse they're using.) Being a clicker with multiple monitors, and playing in windowed mode makes for some panic inducing moments, where my mouse will end trying to drag items in an entirely different window. But the trade off is I can multitask, so if I can manage to reduce the need for panic clicking, I may end up with the best of both worlds. haha.
