  1. I would not buy exotic trinkets from the trading post. Ascended trinkets can be bought with laurels. You can get laurels from the Wizard's Vault. Up to 150 laurels can be purchased every quarter and 10 are earned by completing 6 weekly objectives. Laurel merchants are located in every major city. Amulet cost 30 laurels, rings 35 laurels. In my opinion this is the best option for a new player to get the first ascended trinkets. Later you can get more trinkets from fractals and Living World Season 3 and 4.
  2. You are not telling me anything new "boy". I know that Arena Net is owned by NCSoft. This does not change the fact that Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 have been developed by ArenaNet which is an american company. The design of Guild Wars 2 is very different from typical korean games.
  3. Me too I am not in favour of such colored titles. I wish ArenaNet had not started with those titles in different colours. I have played some other MMO's over the years and I have seen such design already. It is a design pattern which is more fitting to some korean games and it is nothing I would like to see in Guild Wars 2.
  4. I dislike the change to Mecha Legs. In my opinion the basic nature of this trait was the movement speed increase which has been removed. For most of my characters I use a trait which gives me a permanent movement speed increase. This is still possible with the Mechanist specialization but it leaves a sour taste that ArenaNet removed this option for the core engineer.
  5. I am not always satisfied with ArenaNet and I think there has been better content in GW2 than the content we got now with Soto but the comparison with World of Warcraft is ridiculous. ArenaNet has designed GW2 very well to keep all content relevant, there are a lot of maps from former expansions with popular content like meta events that are done every day. And not only level 80 maps are relevant, you can go to any map with a lower level and there is relevant content. WoW on the other hand is focussed on the last expansion. Content from earlier expansions is more or less irrelevant. Open world maps outside the last expansion and the human starter area are dead in WoW. I mean really dead. You will meet rarely another player. The world in WoW is really small if you only count the populated regions. I sometimes play WoW to get a little change from GW2 and I always miss many quality of life features. Example: I want to move some objects from character 1 to character 2. A simple task which is done fast in GW2. In WoW there is no account bank. Every character has their own bank. I have to go to a bank with character 1 and then walk to a letterbox and mail the objects to character 2. Sounds not much but it is annoying. I could go on for hours to mention other examples about outdated and archaic design in WoW but it is not worth the time. Bottom line Guild Wars 2 is far superior to WoW and WoW is absolutely overpriced. In my opinion WoW is not worth a monthly fee.
  6. I never used the golemancer rune but I can understand people very well who are upset about this change. ArenaNet removed too much from the game and did not add something to compensate. The new relic system seems too much like a downgrade to me. The 10% health bonus of divinity runes has been mentionned in this thread. I used these runes on a few characters and I am not glad about the loss. In general it is always a bad idea to take something away from people. Imagine you are working in a company and you had a company car as a part of your remuneration. A Mercedes-Benz or BMW which you can use for business purpose but also for private use. Now your employer is telling you that they will introduce a new concept and the car will be replaced by a bicycle. Most people would not be happy about that change. Of course this is a fictional example and this would not happen in real life because of contracts. But this is how I see the relic change until now.
  7. This outfit is obviously focussed on female Human or Norn characters. It is looking strange not only on male Human or Norn. Getting curious I used the preview option on both male and female Asura and it looks rather strange. Nothing I would ever use as armor skin. And of course not spending gems. I know it is not easy to create skins with the same visual quality for different races but there are many skins in the game that are suitable for all races.
  8. I would be glad both with a hot key or with an option to completely disable it. The current implementation is not good in my opinion. I am even not sure if I want to unlock this mastery. Maybe I will ignore it and yes I would also ignore the related achievement.
  9. I tried to do this daily in Alpine Borderlands from Camps to Towers and did not get any credit as well (several times, trying different routes).
  10. A very good comment. I think many WvW players understand this but not all of them understand it if I read the comments here in this WvW Section. And it is always funny when people are complaining that WvW does not get enough attention from ArenaNet or that there is a lack of players. PVE players trying to do an "easy" daily for gift of battle or a reward track will get a bad impression and will have even less interest in this game mode.
  11. I am mostly a PVE player but come also to WvW because of some rewards like gift of battle. So my experience in WvW is limited but I want to give a short comment too. My server is Miller's Sound that is linked to Elona Reach so I am part of the 2 outnumbered servers in EU T5. I have never seen such imbalance in a game. Sometimes all WvW maps are 99% green (Underworld). Just one example: If I want to take a camp (next to our spawn point) it can happen frequently that I have not only NPC opponents but 4-5 green human players as well. So I have to say that this experience is not much fun. It will in no way attract more players to the WvW game mode. It would be wise for ArenaNet to improve their algorithm to get better balanced matchups.
  12. This seems to be bugged since the last patch. Today I was leveling Leatherworking on a char and after relogging because of the patch discovering new recipes does not work anymore. Usually you see a list of items to experiment but now there are no items visible for me. I made a check with another character and even with another account but it was always the same: no items to select for a new recipe.
  13. In my opinion this is a good summary about the negative aspects and shortcomings of this map. This update alone will not solve the problems of the map. Yesterday I did this meta a third time and I was glad to log off when it was over. Rewards and loot will not solve the problem. I was only doing it again because of the mastery point for doing it 10 times but the best solution is probably to simply ignore it. Maybe I will just ignore the rest of the Icebrood Saga as well. And the basic problem is not only this meta but the game as a whole which has lost strategy and direction. Once it was a creative and innovative game with unique selling points. Today it is a mediocre korean grinder.
  14. I consider this essence mastery system to be a failure. It is a feature that is just annoying and not adding anything interesting to the game. Autoloot for these orbs would make it less annoying but this should be a standard update and not require the use of additional mastery points (at least if you have the already existing auto loot mastery acquired). And most important: I seriously hope that this essence system is limited to the Icebrood Saga. I do not want to see this artificial nonsense in future maps.
