  1. Reduce duration stats you can just walk away before the next pulse. Vines just need to be sneezed at to kill and no more pulses unless they run some full condi junk. Teleport, movement skills that negate impaired movement conditions, skills that give you evade frames at the end of the pulse to make the pulse miss, I can go on and on but why bother if all the low quality posts never seem to demonstrate knowing all the counters to this and discuss why they're not enough.
  2. Imagine those who've mained ranger since launch and quit but still look at the patch notes every few months. Depressing.
  3. High damage pets useless if not going to hit anything. Or dead. Tanky pets pointless if everyone ignores it.

  5. One more: CA is mainly for you to keep in fight with Sbow.
  6. If using Krait runes, just drop torch, and pick up dagger. Attack -> Shortbow auto flank stack bleeds, and poison master trait to mess with regen, sbow5 when no stab/reflect/projectile wall proc ancient seeds. Sbow3 to keep up LoYF for evades/swift, stagger sbow3 with your dodges. Remember prot buff is for you to take hits and stay in fight. Sb2 n 4 use situanally. When you get focused, if CA not up, GTFO by swap sword2, about face/set up direction for sword3, you have two other evades right now sw2 first, reposition or straight into dagger4, sw2 leap away should be up, one dodge should be ready by now, don't blow them right after another... keep reposition/move away when no harm to manage your cooldowns because your prot will soak up some damage. If you don't blow them right after another you have enough surviving power to run away from divinity's reach to ascalonian catacombs. Nobody got time to chase you for dungeon daily. So, yeah. S/d is your GTFO set. Don't enter fight right after you swap to sbow if you think you'll be under heavy fire. This is so you can have s/d GTFO maneuvering ready. Utilities can be lightning reflexes, protect me. I like smokescale for stealth from leap but pet pretty much your preference.
  7. Having multiple cooldown timers run in your head is no longer uncommon. I used to have an analog clock running beside the monitor to keep track of someone else's steal or people's elites/traits. Now it's natural. One way to mechanically prevent wasted trait procs is by disciplining yourself by not merging/unmerging as soon as its available; adding movements like sidestepping or blow rarely used skills.
  8. You have to stand on a spot to place a lousy knock down which has a casting animation clear from a mile away. Doesn't pressure anybody you want to chase, bad in kited situations, no other built-in utilities like stunbreaks, no boons, no nothing. The concept of a trap ranger is completely dead here.

  12. Yup. I main druid which has been nerfed endlessly. And then changes to sword was the last straw to this weekend warrior. After years of driving on one side of the road, they changed the lanes, and it felt like Sweden all over again.
  13. Anet only balances druid by watching roaming vids of tanky druids with a lot of sustain and chicken runaway skills fighting outnumbered against clueless pve zergers.
  14. I would also like to have seven nationalities. I want to be an asura, a charr, and a tengu as well. We should have 100 guilds available for us to join. I love them all, I love their guild bank as well.
  15. Traps are just garbage outside of pve. Dropping traps has an obvious animation, you can just dodge into traps, and you have no pressure on enemies if they're ranged - - basically wasted utility slots as you go closing gaps with a pointless utility bar. Doesn't synergise with any power builds, and the traps scale badly with power. Wish we could send the pets to set up traps for us... Pvp, wvw is dynamic. It's dumb to depend on enemies walking to that small tiny circle.

  17. Why suddenly it's about nerfing the coward skills of swoop/gs3? If people want to play like a chicken, they should be able to. Look at rocket boots, warrior gs, thief ports, shadowsteps. Why can they play like cowards and not rangers?

  19. Hahaha ha I used this today because of some buffs. It's still not something you use against people prepared to go into a serious fight... but it wrecked a lot of newbies for me today! You could insta down 4-8 players just waiting to cap a sentry etc. I don't get why they like to stay close to each other and have ducky condi cleanse abilities.
  20. Rangers were pidgeonholed to play the easy mara sic em sbeast. Burst, run away like a chicken, reset, burst, run away again etc. Anet made Rangers play that way because it was the only way to win. Needn't any skill. At least make the nerfs on us gradually instead of a full stomp.
  21. What? Knockknock distance nerves when I'm 2500 rage? No potsticker, Rangers will still go melee range and use the knickknacks skill.
  22. Do away with having an extra health bar on warclaw. Let people decide to dismount before the hp goes way too low and risk getting downed (killing warclaw means downing target).
  23. Something tells me that the dev who thought this up had known a psychedelic guy who ignored his pets.
