Controller support for this heavy 3 d axis use movement and combat mechanics game is a must. Especially with the skyscale being a primaiy means of moving with the new expac, just like it should already be there with gliding in the Hot maps and certain S3 maps. If you were a real pc gamer around for a longer time you would now that the pc was once a platform known for many different control options, like joysticks, flightsticks, steering wheel and peddals. Only newer generation pc gamers talk about 'pc masterrace, only keyboard and mouse allowed'. You will know what the cost is of pc gaming with heavy mouse and keyboard use, when you get some more pc game years under your belt. Its called strain injuries. And who said no mouse? One does not rule out the other, controller would be perfect for skyscale, griffin, gliding and even underwater combat, other things are better with the keyboard, a mixed option would be perfect. Not a fan of his other idea, console versions btw.

I will get excited when the actual expac is presented in streams and videos by the devs (like Hot, Pof and to a lesser extent even EOD had). A rare blog here and there isnt doing it for me. I miss those enthousiast devs proudly presenting new fresh content, that is what got me interesested in Gw2 (and gw 1) in the past. Theres not even a decent trailer now, even LS1 and 2 had better ones. Where are the actual faces behind the wheel? It feels detached wihout the creative drive and passion of before. I hope for a new golden age ofcourse, but remain realistic.

Was the old chest over the top Anime style yes. Does that warant changing it into a genderneutral bot, which it never was, no. It was explicitly presented as a 'She' bot creation from Scarlet. Compare the old and the new trailer and you can see that not only the chest has been changed but also the behind. Quite disrispectfull to the original creators/artists. It could have had a makeover without totaly deleting all Femininity. Thats the opposite of progressive (at least in the original defenition before the last 10 years).

Optional story group content in a mmo. Great choice to get more people interested in doing instanced group content, like the new strike missions. Why do people always ask that everything should be singleplayer in a mmo, multiplayer that is.

I guess the counter question would be: If it's no different, then why did they need to make it? ? Answer was already given, to get people insterested in playing strike mission ;) And not to be bothered by zergs of people when experience the story of course.

I feel the opposite. Its a refreshing change to the regular content. And let one thing be clear. You are not forced, its optional content, you dont need to play it. Looking through the eyes of another story person is a interesting take, just like in a good drama tv series. So what that its not playing the fluffy hero, its not you its interactively experiencing a story character. Just like the gw 1 BMP, great in my opinion. Should we also feel guilty for all the innocent doliacs we killed over the years?

Why are people complaining the map is too small, it was comunicated many times that the icebrood Saga maps will be expanded with every episode. And why would anyone play everyday contiously, playing a game is not a life. This mentality reminds me of a certain Southpark episode concerning Wow players. And you cant compare one episode with a whole expansion, you got to compare a whole season of it. For years its the same complaining on this forum (and reddit) comparing apples and oranges.

Clever way of compensating for loss of people playing?????? At the expense of gating those that continue to play? You ignore the hard fact that the more content this game gets, the more spread out the population is. This is why they chose for the LS1 format first before moving to traditional permanent content, after much complaining by players.

I did some household/cleaning work in the meantime. Years ago i would be zombieing at my keyboard till the patch, not anymore. Much healthier for body and mind ;)

I see the patch day exitement is rising. Everybody getting eager to play. I already prepeared my character a few hours ago, so i can jump right in B)

This sort of bad marketing practices have no effect one me. But there is a group of people who are really sensitive of this sort of gambling practice (its nothing else then a slot machine). An AA game company should stay far away from this.
