  1. Oh, and this would include thoughts on how the new elite specs will function in pvp. HoT elites were god mode compared to normal profs, same with PoF then halfway into PoF anet decided that no wait elite specs should be alternative playstyles and that core should be similar power level as elites (lol core engi and ele, lmaooo sadge). Have they toned down the eod elite specs? Some of them look really cool like the mechanist but I worry if it's an ai based spec etc. Virtuoso looks so clunky and terrible... Losing clones go do what .. have more screen clutter?
  2. Hi guys. Its been nearly a year since I quit GW2 due to irl reasons however Im thinking about coming back and would like to be caught up on news, and plans for eod pvp content. My question is, does anybody know what pvp will be like in eod? For me, pvp means all player vs player modes, so wvw/pvp/arenas/duels. I was hoping to god that they would add dueling arenas around the real world but that's prob not gonna happen, what about ranked 3v3 arenas? Will it still be only a down season event? Has there been any update on wvw alliances and what it will be like? I found mys
  3. I hope we get NEW pvp content in EoD. Gw2 has had the same stale maps over and over since launch. Sure there have been 1 or 2 added but oh my god we need more than just 5v5. A ranked competitive 3v3 arena with rewards would be so amazing... I wish 5v5 conquest turns to 10v10 battlegrounds, as a more friendly introduction to pvp, and 3v3 arena becomes the competitive mode for pvp in gw2... With bigger maps designed for 3v3. One can dream...

Atm i am taking forever to kill a veteran in open world whereas if I was on a dedicated power/condi build I would melt it in seconds without even glancing their way. Mostly wvw builds, but there are a few for open world. Celestial gear isn't very useful for a lot of classes. I find that ele and necro have better use of the even stat distribution, but you are giving up a lot of dps for the sustain/balance of celestial.   6. From what I have seen it seems to be a thing of the past. I made a post in the wvw forums about the usage of celestial gear, but it got me thinking about not just wvw builds, but celestial gear in all game modes. As far as I can tell, it has been outdated since Elite specializations (the ELITE specs, not the "oh wait, elite but trade off specs) came out. And I havn't seen any meta celestial builds in the 5 years that I have been playing, except celestial holo (out dated now), and celestial weaver, both which were roaming builds.   7. I disagree, I think that celestial should have decent pressure and decent survivability as it uses both condi and power damage. You say celestial is meant to outlast fights, but then what about tank builds like dire condi or soldiers power? I'll just say again that I am super sad about how high damage is in the game :( I mean I have run full valkyrie before and it means nothing, neither does soldiers (and that's only viable for a few professions.   8. Exactly this. I don't agree fully, I think that the gear/food and whatnot further diversifies builds which is a good thing. But yeah, damage is too high. A marauder should not be able to kill another marauder in 2 seconds. A berserker geared player sure, but... i mean like knights armor does nothing on almost any class, the pros of going marauder far outweighs the cons. If i went knights gear on my character it would just slow me down because the toughness from it isnt as effective as it should be. For the 4 years I have played gw2 I have only ever seen one medium celestial build actually be decent enough to be "meta" and that is celestial holosmith pistol shield. But that's no longer meta due to the last balance patch, and also just going marauder was probably more efficient..
  10. Another example is vs condi users. Condi mirage. Bear in mind I use cleansing and transference runes (or whichever the one that transfers a condi on hit, 6 sec cd). Engi, a class mostly designed with condi in mind, I am playing a piano to try and apply my burst. Nothing I have stacks past 15 (maybe poison if I throw grenade, poison bomb hits, pistol cast goes off uninterrupted/undodged, and elixir gun 3). The mirage just pew pew boom boom I have every std imaginable under the sun. See what I mean? Only holo has a chance out there ?

Well, Ele has very little health even with full Minstrel gear... like Warrior baseline HP and with 3k armor you'll still get hit the occasional +10k Maul/Vault/MemeFlame if they aligned their stars right. Bear in mind that these used to be +15k numbers. I used to hit ele for 28-30k with Death's Judgement before the damage reduction in Feb. Just saying ^^ I know. I used to do the same with Arc Divider. Maul can still get +24k though on Soulbeasts right now. Also, why does it feel like threads like these are always started by Eles... Ele is my least played class. I play Engi in case you didnt p

  14. by most you mean a few select classes, while others got to keep their riduculously high damage output (notice how i said output, not skill damage. bc end of the day they still do ridiculous numbers). And the single digit damage on cc abilities was SO bad. Why does warrior hammer 5 do 9 damage, while a thief stolen ability from guardian can crit for 8k+? they didnt do it properly, as usual.   15. Now before I start, I understand that full dps gear should do large numbers for a tradeoff in tankiness or survivability. However, what I have noticed is that with all the power creep in the game, roaming (im sure zerging as well, but I am only talking about roaming here for now) damage specs have all evolved to a full dps set. 95% of top roaming builds have, for as long as I can remember, gone marauder or berserker gear, while condis have the luxury of going full dire.
