  1. if this isn't the best comment on the forums i dont know what is. yea necro changes make little sense. boon bloat is a problem and they weakened the removal necro has and weakened the condi pressure that was one of the advantages and payoffs of going boon rip. so in pvp your even more dependent on your teamates capitalizing on your targets and in pve your low damage is even lower now.
  2. thechnically there is still boon removal for necro, it just lost the condi application bonus for removing. it makes the skills sort of useable by power necro but it doesn't add anything for the removal. there's no extra boon removed for each skill that lost boon conversion, and the only spec that gained a bonus from the boon rip change would be scourge with they gte the boons they rip off, but thats super niche
  3. you want to do 2 things at once with the same trait? who do you think you are? an elle? a mesmer? nono, per anet instructions all traits and skills have 4 things they do at the same time, but you have to choose which one you want to be good at. we can't have everyone doing everything all of the time, you have to pick and choose, then spend hours explaining to people online why you can't do both at the same time.
  4. useless change for the majority of high end content. sure someone can try out alac on scourge, but why would you bring that over a guard or herald or a druid now. they get alac with more utility than a necro now anyway. even hard carry rez bot got hit (thank god) so now necro is sub optimal is even more aspects and is "balanced"
  5. reminds me of the OG days of necro's all the way through PoF to. Signets on necro's were always blegh. There was one random signet of the locusts build that removed boons, seems like they just copy paste that onto the trait and forgot about everything else the trait did. not surprised, anet always lets stuff fall through the cracks, or gaping holes RIP vampiric wells, my heal necro will always be lost without you
  6. why the hell would you take dread over close to death?????? you can get better quickness in reaper and perm quickness in harbinger. please dont tell me your running power scourge >< WH 5 was only ever used for mobility, the cripple is kinda nice but most people have leaps, the LF gen is pittiful and the heal now, again most people just run away. would love to see a "heal" necro in wvw running into blows with WH 5 being like "stay with me i'll heal you!!!" when blocks and prot would just prevent the damage in the first place, and 1 guard puts out more boon and healing than a necro can shake a bone at
  7. old DP was 300 ferocity, per the wiki's calulation of 15 ferocity for 1% crit damage at lv 80, thats 20% crit damage bonus https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ferocity with new trait crit damage boosted by flat 15% is a nerf. crit chance from 33% in shroud to 10% always. sounds good but if your in shroud every cooldown (10 seconds), for lets assume 10 seconds then your in 50% of your time. thats approx 16.5% crit chance. also a nerf. just a bad change all around
  8. dont forget deaths perception was nerfed all around. lower crit chance and lower damage buff than the 300 ferocity it gave before.
  9. this update came out of a dedicated team??? we had better communication when it felt like 1 person was updating balance. your game has a stacking (buffs/class/mechanic/lack of mechanic/food/utility/stats) since the launch of the game that's never ever been addressed. please fix some core mechanics instead of putting band aids on or just shifting people to find new ways to break the game.
  10. I picked up some raid gear after launch and i could not find ritualist or dragon stats. Is there a plan to have those stat options on raid gear at some point?
  11. well quickness burning healing just jumped to the top of my list of fun builds
  12. dark disciple trait says 2% per stack but the tooltip on utility skills adds up to 1.5%. effect on the charater is 1.5%, tooltip is wrong >< not surprising with anets level of polish when it comes to communication and accurate tooltips 10 years for a tooltip on shroud damage reduction, 10 years
  13. Suggestion: Blight needs to be moved to the top of the health bar/circle and the icon enlarged by 25% for viability side suggestion : can we please have the option to change the buff and debuff sizes on our UI without making our health bar take up half the screen?
  14. I hope this gets seen and not super buried. I would really like it if the blight stacks on the harbinger were above the health bar and not in the debuf bar. It's a really cool mechanic to play around and with utility and shroud skills doing more damage based on blight it would be nice if the blight stacks were in a fixed location on my screen so i could look to a specific location and know exactly how many i have. If blight is in the debuf bar then it will dance around with buffs and debufs and I'll be searching for the icon rather than focusing on the fight i'm in. Please but blight above the health and stamina bar like malice or druids mechnic. It would be an amazing QOL to know exactly where to look to see my stacks. Thank you.
  15. no this is about mount turning in general, since mounts turn no matter how you direct them, be it mouse or keyboard. they dont sidestep
  16. Yea i know, i'm usually the minority in these situations. I also dont like getting from point a to point b a mini game in my mmo's i just want to get there and do the thing i intended to do. otherwise i'll go and play an actual platforming game.
  17. i can see then, the thing is that all the mounts can go from left to right no problem without using W, why is it only when going from left to right. if anything the mounts should find the shortest rotation distance to get to the new direction and go that way, like you as the driver would do in real life. and when i ride a horse or drive my car i can turn my head (camera) in a different direction than i am traveling in. i get that the mounts are supposed to feel more lifelike and have weight and unique movements about them but this aspect makes them feel like a broken video game character and not a real life beast that i'm supposed to have trained and mastered.
  18. every other mmo, my mounts go where i tell them, how i expect them to go, they dont turn 200 degrees clockwise to go from facing right to left, they just turn left like a car, a horse or any other real world mounted thing. I've been playing with the mounts since POF launch, this problem has been around since POF launch. only chages they have made is that the mount will spin 30 degrees without moving if it was already standing still, since at launch the moving forward to turen was a massive headache for everyone (see bunny jumping charge to turn in place since the bunny couldn't turn in place on it's own at launch) I have A and D bound to strafe and no keys bound to turn. If you are mounted and use strafe the mount turns if it's standing still till it's close to the direction and then starts moving. while moving forward the mount still turns on it's center axis and doesn't trot sideways (even though horses can actually do that) if the mount is ment to feel like an animal, or even like a car then it should function like one. when i pull left on the reins of a horse, the horse turns to the left. not to the right past 180 degrees to face the direction i want it to (think of my head as the camera, i can swivel my head 180 degrees and have the horse move under me)
  19. ok i can see your point, but then why does the mount always turn clockwise when going from facing left to facing right, even if the facing right is a little towards the camera at say 170 degrees (think circle with 0 on the right 90 at forward 180 at left) so i'm facing left and a little towards the camera, the mount while moving still turns clockwise. You can do this by going tot he right, hitting left and then when the mount is facing down and left while still moving the direction it's head is facing, hit D and the mount will do a full circle. So it's not the small direction or the mount being slightly angled it's specifically when the mount goes from going directly right (from the camera perspective) to going directly left while in motion the mount will turn clockwise, it will turn right on it's central axis, instead of going left, which is what any other horse or trained animal with reins would do if you pulled left on the reins. It actually is worse that than, if you go from moving left to right, about 45 degrees if you hit left again, instead of going to the left here is a reddit post from 4 years ago explaining the same thing. mounts do not turn in expected ways https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/77pfy6/if_i_press_d_why_the_hell_does_my_mount_turn_left/ here is a link to my reddit post with imaging of the turning issue https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/r7i0hw/i_hate_the_mounts_in_this_game/ To the rest of the posters, it sounds like a lot of you dont do that much pvp with necro staff. I use the left mouse button to turn my camera without changing the direction my character is facing and manually click (yes i click with my mouse on my utility skills) my ground targeted skills (ie marks) and cast them behind me while my character is running towards my camera. or i strafe and move around while i place flesh wurm or wells this is so i can lead some targets with the 3/4 cast times on all staff marks and hit them while either running away or running sideways. (if you cast in the middle of where they are characters with SS will run out of the location (radius) of the mark before it finishes casting and miss them. I dont use the action camera as i dont use hot keys for my skills and i dont have an mmo mouse for extra thumb buttons. Also if you use action camera and cast a mark on necro staff the character faces the direction while casting and walks backwards which is weird since without action camera a necro doesn't turn around to cast a mark or a well. there is also camera issues in the game since launch that have never been addressed. there is backlash if you turn the camera and character at the same time with right click. sure theres180 button but if you try and turn 90 quickly enough the character will only turn about 75 degrees and the camera will whip back to where your character is moving. TLDR : mount turning in bad and persistent, camera turning has backlash and action camera has casting issues on necro. see links for mount turning issues
  20. i get where your coming from with the LF for harbinger and the match xsince LF is based on health and blight reduces health and thus LF. but honestly for harbinger it doesn't matter. you get 15% for free just for hitting f1. you never need to care about LF unless your planning on being in harbinger shroud for more than 10 seconds. the new consume to do more damage is cool. I would prefer if there were better options. double damage or blindness for 6 seconds is kind of useless when most people attack 20 times in 6 seconds. the interaction is a nice idea i just wish there was more payoff.
  21. yea this. it reminds me of when GW2 launched, each trait line had a little bit of everything and you kinda sorta picked what you wanted to focus on. It was bad design and over 8 years or so they made some changes and made the lines more streamlined. The new elete specs with each row being a focus is kind of what they've done with a lot of the trait lines, but honestly it's annoying. mixing and matching sort of makes some changes but overall the hybrid nature of the harbinger with traits to basically "fix" how the skills and damage work is really annoying. then again who's ever tried power scourge in pvp in the last 2years ><
  22. Not so much the design, but the handling is just stupid. If i'm going left (a) and then go right (d) with the camera facing in the same direction the whole time (strafe not rotate camera i believe) the mounts turn clockwise and go to the right. If your going to the right (d) and then turn left (a) the mounts turn clockwise rather than counterclockwise. Basically when your on a mount, think of it like being on a horse. When you pull the reins to the right, the horse turns to the right. when you pull left on the reins, the horse turns left, not to the right. In GW2 when your going right and you basically tell the mount to turn left, it turns right. It is the most annoying thing about the mounts in this game. I have fallen off more ledges and gotten all turned around more times because when moving them mounts dont rotate the way they should. please anet fix this it's awful, just awful. like really really bad. how does a mount rotate to the right, and walk towards the camera to go left? why would i ever want a mount to do that?
