Interesting that with sPvP Anet takes the time to submit proposed balance changes weeks in advance to solicit player feedback and make adjustments, while with WvW they simply implement garbage changes that are the exact opposite of what players want with no warning whatsoever. Pretty obvious they absolutely hate WvW, just like after introducing the poorly designed desert BL, rather that listen to player feedback and redesign the map (something that they have done with a number of sPvP maps such as skyhammer) they simply decided they were never going to make another WvW map again to spite the players. Sad really.
  2. The old tutorial achievements should be added back, not sure what the reasoning was behind this change. The new player guide achievements or whatever they are called are very annoying. I play several different characters and since they need to be completed on each character I have achievements non-stop exploding on my screen, every time I swap a weapon, every time I attack something, every time I even just pick up some barb or other trash loot more and more achievements exploding on my screen non-stop. The whole thing is highly obnoxious, not sure who in the world thought this was good design.

You can still get Desert Heroics, first you need to have a character that has all the Path of Fire hero points unlocked, then buy the Notarized Scroll of Desert Heroics with Jade Heroics on that character, then when you use the scroll it will refund you Desert Heroics thus converting your Jade Heroics into Desert Heroics.

According to the wiki the only way to get Desert Heroics currently is to have a character that has all the Path of Fire hero points unlocked, then buy a Notarized Scroll of Desert Heroics with Jade Heroics, use it and it will refund you 10 Desert Heroics. Ideally Anet would have simply allowed Jade Heroics to be used to purchase all of the WvW items, but the expansion was rushed so WvW gets shafted.

  6. You know bag slots were 40% off during past anniversary sales though. All Anet did was reduce the sales by 10% across the board this year, that's good that you're happy with your purchase though. 🙂
  7. If receiving mean messages bothers you so much then the best option is to set yourself to offline, or to avoid online multiplayer games altogether. Have a nice day :)
  8. As an update, the massive lag / disconnects only occur for me in the wintersday activities, other areas of the game such as WvW work fine. Additionally, I discovered that if I play GW2 using a VPN, the issue is resolved and I can play the wintersday activities without any problems so there is some kind of routing issue with the servers hosting the wintersday activities. Just thought I would share on the off chance that someone actually decides to look into this.
  9. They definitely broke something with the patch, the wintersday events are almost unplayable. Try to do the race, lag out and disconnect a few minutes in... try to do toypocalypse, lag out and disconnect a few minutes in.. try to do the wintersday raid, lag out and disconnect a few minutes in. All the while, my internet connection is perfectly fine and everything else works.
  10. Clearly GW2 should adopt the multi-class system from GW1 so that all professions can multi-class as thief and then stealth will be available to everyone!

Deleting minstrel's stats would vastly improve the WvW meta, just look at the metabattle builds.. minstrel firebrand, minstrel scrapper, minstrel spellbreaker, minstrel tempest, minstrel chrono and then a few scourges for damage. Minstrel stats were deleted from sPvP for a reason, now they need to be deleted from the rest of the game and replaced with something more balanced like mender's.

The problem with this argument is that they have released poorly designed maps for sPvP, the sPvP community gives similarly toxic feedback saying the maps are terrible and need to be deleted and in response Anet improves the map according to the feedback and re-releases them. Look at Raid on the Capricorn which was completely redesigned, you can look at Skyhammer which people hated with a vengeance when it first came out and was later heavily modified, you can look at Eternal Coliseum which had a lot of obstacles added to help with kiting. The sPvP community also incessantly complained about how they hated "circle quest" and in response Anet added that weird League of Legends pvp mode, then when the sPvP community complained about how terrible that was, Anet responded by adding 2v2, then 3v3, then added new maps for 2v2 and 3v3, then added mini-seasons for 2v2 and 3v3. Regardless of how toxic other communities are in providing their feedback, Anet is happy to accommodate them. Contrast that to WvW, where they release a map, WvW players say that it's horribly designed (which I agree with) and in response Anet just says ok, well no more content for you guys then. It's more about the drastically different treatment that the WvW community receives compared to the sPvP and PvE communities.

  14. Yes, Alliances would be a pretty good idea, maybe they could call it the Alliance update or World Restructuring or something. Someone should tell Anet.
  15. I agree that they should fix Kessex Hills, Lions Arch was destroyed and Anet didn't just leave it as a burning heap forever. It would also be a good opportunity to revitalize the map, perhaps with a new meta event or something, as it and so many other core maps are simply irrelevant for most players.
  16. Not sure when this happened, but the invulnerability zone for red side in EBG extends wayyyy beyond the red spawn. I assume this is a bug since the invuln zones for the other spawns are unchanged, red side essentially has free safe travel to their keep from their spawn which is a pretty big advantage when it comes to defending their keep.
  17. I agree, and there is precedent for it. The cultural armor chest is available for purchase in PvE for 30 gold, or you can purchase it in WvW for 15 gold + 750 badges per honor pricing a badge of honor at 2 silver. I think charging something like 100 gold + 3000 badges of honor would be reasonable for a 32 slot bag. It would also provide a use for badges of honor since they are probably the most worthless currency in GW2 at the moment.

I did not make any definitive statements about the consumption behavior of GW2 players writ large as I do not have any data to support such statements, just as you don't have any data to support such statements.
  19. Interesting, and why do you find that this concept does not apply to inventory expansion slots? It might not be enough to offset the losses incurred by making a limited number of accountwide slots more cost-effective than buying lots of character-locked slots. It's information I don't have access to, so I can only interpret it with speculation, the same way that people are speculating the opposite. Given that gathering tools are the only method of gathering whereas you have multiple different ways to store items besides bag slots, I don't think I can reasonably equate the two in terms of how valuable they are to players.Which is what I was getting at, so in your original post, reproduced here: You don't know that making inventory expansion slots account bound would reduce revenue, you suspect that it might, but you don't have any data to support that assertion. It is very possible that many people would purchase more inventory slots if they could use them on all of their characters. Personally, I pre-ordered the deluxe edition of GW2 and have been playing ever since the early access period and I don't have a single character that has every inventory slot unlocked, but I would definitely unlock them if it meant having them on all of my characters.

Infinite use gathering tools used to be soulbound, then Anet changed them to account bound.Crafting recipes used to be soulbound, then Anet changed them to account bound.Dye unlocks used to be soulbound, then Anet changed them to account bound.All item and armor skins used to be soulbound with the transmutation system, then Anet changed to account bound with the wardrobe system. I wonder if all the people in this thread who are oh so concerned about Anet making money would support reverting all of the above changes, hmm?
  22. I main ranger and don't see this as an issue, zerging is a brain dead and boring style of play, the issue lies with the fact that zerging is currently the most effective way to win WvW. Hopefully, the WvW restructuring (assuming they are still working on it) is actually a restructuring and fundamentally changes how WvW is played to be more dynamic and engaging, encouraging both small tactical group play as well as sieges by large groups of players.
  23. Bumping since I tried again to get this achievement and half year after making this thread nothing has been done to address this bug. The second I kill the inquest assassin the achievement disappears for me, but the inquest assassin is one of the groups that you need to kill to get the "Leave No Survivors" achievement, thus the achievement is impossible to get. Can someone please fix this issue?
  24. Would be nice if there was a reason to actually win, Anet spent years adjusting how the scoring works and I have no idea why. Every week it's just your random group of servers fighting a different random group of servers, they used to give you PvE bonuses based on how well you did in WvW, but then they got rid of that. Anet also used to give you a couple extra rank up chests at the end of the week if your server won, but I can't even remember the last time I received extra rank up chests so I guess they got rid of that too. Over the last 5 years the only new content that has been added to WvW is a badly implemented mount.
