  1. lol scouts ; p This one thing rings true tho ; ) Scouting was already in decline but the death knell was links. Once we all got thrown in with a bunch of strangers no one knew who to listen to, who was worth calling, etc. Then anet nerfed defenses so there's not really much point to try to hold on to things anyway. Was an amusing read tho . . . > Outnumbered home, Green OJ up in swc . . . > They on bay outer now with catas . . . > Outer down, garri uncontested, ewp available, pulling when inner hits 50% . . . > Inner fifty, <links ewp> > Inner down . . . > On lord . . . > Flipped . . . > WTF WHY WAS THERE NO CALL FOR HOME BAY !?@@@!1??
  2. If anet would simply subject this behavior to the existing afk timer none of these more draconian suggestions would be needed . . . EDIT: The friendly fire would be nice tho : )
  3. I only go to dry top when one of the psna dudes is there, but it definitely hasn't been two years since I've seen a t6 . . .
  4. Any further consolidation at all would be great, doesn't have to be everything. Just all ls things in one slot would be nice, or just a tome for lounges . . . Maybe even especially lounges, I mean we already paid for them. Could even be another gem store item, I'd be fine with that . . .
  5. I appreciate your bringing this up, it's a frequently requested feature and would be of great benefit to players . . .
  6. This is the way I felt about activities in pve dailies. Unfortunately, anet disagrees . . . To me the issue with having defense as a daily is not that it's difficult to succeed but that it can be difficult to find an opportunity to succeed. It's entirely possible to run around wvw for twenty minutes and just not find anyone attacking any of your objectives. And since the ten minute activities were considered too burdensome for pve dailies, defense must also be considered too burdensome for wvw dailies . . . The new goal with dailies seems to be "log in, ten minutes later you're done", perhaps as a concession to all the multiaccount ppls who were miffed about losing their login rewards idk. Within that structure only the 'pve' wvw objectives really fit, bc they are the only ones that can be guaranteed to be available at all hours, regardless of when someone logs in. Under this system, objectives that require the other team to provide the content must be restricted to weeklies . . .
  7. I'm not sure I can go so far as to say I'm in favor of removing it, but removing it would definitely be consistent with recent anet decisions regarding pve dailies so I do agree that anet should be in favor of removing it . . . In the interim, unlike the wvw weeklies for the wv daily you just need to defend any objective. So camps count. Getting camp defense credit is much easier than tower/keep credit. I'm not sure I've ever killed a camp attacker and not gotten credit. The only thing that can maybe mess you up there is if they manage to run out of the event area before you get them. Just lie in wait, let them burn their cds, gank. It's cheesy, but reliable . . .
  8. This doesn't affect me one way or the other, I don't visit other ppls homes or have visitors in mine, but I'm with OP. The enchanted treasure chest is an absurdly underwhelming reward for an absurdly expensive achievement and would def benefit from a rework. I've no opinion on whether that should include other ppls getting access to it, but I don't think propping up the tp price of the achievement items is a strong argument against . . .
  9. Just not following what any of that had to do with opening core maps to expansion mastery xp . . ?
  10. Op is a little all over the place but there's an underlying idea I can maybe get behind. The reason masteries require xp to be farmed in the maps they're associated with is bc devs want players in those maps. It both makes the game appear healthy to have a lot of players active in new areas, and it exposes new players to that content over a period so they get enough exposure to it to decide whether any of it is worth working into their routines after the shine has worn off . . . But for a new player who is catching up on old content, it's maybe a little burdensome for them to grind that xp in low pop areas the rest of the player base has abandoned. So for older content only I could see the argument that more paths to mastery xp might be beneficial. The idea of expanding that to new content not only works against the goals mentioned above, but it would also flood already well-populated maps with players trying to min/max their xp gains, likely to the frustration of players who are regularly there doing content they already enjoy. We do not need solutions to the "problem" of making attractive maps more attractive . . . What any of this has to do with raids and bounties I've got no idea ; p
  11. I'd agree that I'd like to see more things to do with guild comms, but I'd also point out that some of the currently available skins are already some of the least commonly unlocked in the game. So it's not like ppls don't have things to spend on rn . . .
  12. I keep multiple toons up to date on story anyway, so for me it's typically nbd to focus cheeves after first run . . . That is a good point. There was one exception one time in twelve years ; p And tbh I once got help with a story cheeve back in ls2 that could have been soloed I just couldn't be arsed at the time. But I've soloed all the rest which, again, is what makes them fun for me . . .
  13. Voted for the first three, and am unsurprised that two of those three have a pretty significant lead in early voting ; p I'm a little surprised at how poorly story cheeves are doing. We frequently get posts on the forums about how ppls play gw2 like a single player game, or wish they could, or wish some aspects were more solo-friendly. That's what I like about story cheeves, they're a 'just for me' experience with no help or interference from others. They're probably my very favorite cheeve type : ) As for the rest, I couldn't vote for puzzles bc they usually just involve checking the wiki. For fishing, repeating events, finding x items or killing x bad guys I find those tedious and grindy. The world does need some tedious and grindy cheeves so I'm not exactly complaining, but they're never going to be my favorite. I love jps and races, but not for the cheeves. They're just sort of intrinsically satisfying. Time trial type race cheeves are good, esp when designed to force players into learning to control a new mount, but generally I don't need cheeves for races or jps. Not sure I've ever thought of map completion as an achievement category, so not sure what that was supposed to entail exactly . . .
  14. I'd like to be able to right-click or double click the ornate rusted key to open the relevant cheeve and see which locations I still need to visit this round . . .
