Title says it all. It was my understanding that WR aim was to create balanced and fair match-ups in a COMPETITIVE GAMEMODE, but here we are seeing these giant alliance guilds bringing imbalance to WvW the same way bandwagoning did before WR and I'm left wondering why did Anet even bother if this is how things will continue. The hyper social ''WvW server community'' poisoning the well by overinflating the importance of their hundreds and up to thousands of friends that they lost contact with now that WR is in place instead of the old servers doesn't help either. Let me make a suggestion: Turn Armistice Bastion into home world based shards so people can see their server buddies while lounging (but keep WvW chat channels visible here). Add a home world based chat channel that works in every map/instance, players can only see the channel of the home world they are on. Make a clear distinction between PvE and WvW guilds and significantly reduce the amount of players that can be assigned to a single WvW guild. Start designing leaderboards for 40-50 man guild groups and 20-25 man guild groups and appropriate rewards/titles/gizmos/mounts/whatever for those that reach top ranks/ratings during... WvW TOURNAMENTS!!!!

First give them distinct identities. Staff: ranged damage, group support. Spear: ranged damage, selfish survival. Staff changes: Increase lava font cooldown to 8 seconds (6 seconds with fire traitline) and increase it's damage twofold (it hits like a wet noodle right now), Increase Meteor shower cooldown to 40 seconds (32 seconds with fire traitline) remove damage reduction per hit, reduce skill radius to 300 to make it more consistant with large/small hitboxes, reduce duration from 9 seconds to 6 seconds and reduce number of impacts from 24 to 18. Hitting a target with Water blast (staff AA) reduces the cooldown of Geyser (3) and Healing Rain (5). Increase damage from Ice Spike by 25% and add pulsing damage to Frozen Ground (around 0.3 per tick for 5 sticks). Chain Lightning (staff AA), if this skill finds no target to bounce of to, it hits the target 3 times (this happened to the 3rd AA from lightning attuned sword and it's fitting for staff as well since it hits for almost 1/3rd of fireball's damage). Add a damage component to Gust and Windborne Speed (add a damaging wirlwind around the caster that does damage 9x in 3 seconds) and increase the cooldown to 25seconds (20seconds with air traitline). Stoning (earth AA) grant barrier to players around the target. Change Eruption into 2 damage componants, 1 for the initial placement and 1 for exploding, placement does minor damage and cripple, explosion does big damage and some bleeds. Unsteady Ground (earth 4) Allies that walk over it gain stability and barrier. Spear changes beside the obvious increase damage numbers: Change Restorative Spear (water AA) into Ice Lance: change healing on hit into 1,5 second of chill on the target (peel potential, slower for enemies to reach the caster). Change Ripple (3) into Vaporwave: Change the caster into invulnerable mist for 1 second while shooting 600 yards into a chosen direction, removes cripple and immobilize (25second cooldown). Change Undertow (4) into a 3 second AoE pulling targets towards it's center, when targets are still inside at the end of the spell they get slow. Remove healing from the Etching, increase the damage and add a 450 knockback. Change Fulgor into Lightning Cloud: Repeatedly Strike the Area with lightning (4 strikes in 4 seconds, up to 3 targets for each strike) and each lightning strike increase the damage by 10% for the next strike, final strike adds weakness to the targets. Change Energize into Lightning Reflexes (1 second evasion/blur +2 seconds superspeed, 18 second cooldown with air traitline). Change Twister into Chained Lightning: 1,5 second charge up, instantly travels up to 1200 yards, big damage, root the target for 2 seconds, bounces to 4 additional targets for 20% less damage and roots those targets for 1 second. Make it so Etchings are charged by any weapon spell, not just the attunement of the etching so we dont have to attune, press 3 and press attune again every time to make spear work on weaver. Also while I'm at it, change Weaver's grandmaster trait Elements of Rage to increase damage while being dual attuned, seems more fitting to the class fantasy. Make Jade Sphere's collect energy while being summoned but make the attacks of the jade sphere not generate energy. Increase the auto attack damage of conjured weapons to be on par with sword/dagger auto attacks, and increase their 2-5 skills to be above that (for axe and hammer atleast).

Couldn't help but notice that several mining tools are either not discounted or sold seperately during the March sale. Bone Pick, Choya Mining Tool, Cosmic Mining Tool, Earthshaker Mining Tool, Glacial Mining Tool, Mad Scientist's Mining Tool, Mine-r-Tron, Shifting Sands Mining Pick, Skyscale Hatchling Mining Tool, Watchwork Mining Pick, these are all not sold during the March Sale (these are available in a bundle of 2160 gems but aren't sold seperately unlike their foraging/logging counterparts). Firefly Mining Flute, Molten Alliance Mining Pick: 1000 gems each. Doesn't feel intentional when all foraging and logging tools are sold (and seperately from their bundles if they ever were available that way) but mining tools aren't available or discounted at all (with Spirit of Bear Mining Tool being the sole exception)

[Suggestions]QoL (Quality of Life) Ideas [Merged]
Setz.9675 replied to ginryu.3026's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
This suggestion involves the research note system. I would HIGHLY recommend making crafting recipes at around crafting level 350 with the sole purpose of turning targeted materials into research notes. The current method of turning common and uncommon items into research notes takes HUGE amounts of time and in turn become a WASTE OF ELECTRICITY. for example with jewelcrafting: right now players use 8 mithril ore + 1 jewel to craft 1 item worth 5 research notes but from a crafting standpoint this means: 8 mithril ore --> 4 mithril ingot --> 1 mithril setting + 1 mithril earring --> [jewel] mithril earring. Now do this 3000x for 1 set of obsidian legendary armor and suddenly you spend over an hour crafting junk to turn into research notes. I would suggest making a recipe for jewelcrafting: 250 mithril ore + 250 mithril ore + 62 jewels --> an item that can only be salvaged for research notes (300 research notes in this case). And make recipes like these for armor crafting / weapon crafting professions as well. -
Research Notes aren't to my liking
Setz.9675 replied to crosknight.3041's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Wanted to make a suggestion in the QoL thread about this very topic. The ABSOLUTE WASTE OF ELECTRICITY and time to stand at a crafting station upgrading ores --> ingots --> item specific crafting material --> the crafted item that can be salvaged for research notes is ridiculous. (jewelcrafting example) Something as simple as a crafting recipe like: 250 mithril ore + 250 mithril ore + 50 tier5 jewels -->item that can only be salvaged for research notes. Make recipes like these for all crafting professions please. The current method to obtain research notes in large quantities through uncommon and common item crafting are anti-fun, a waste of time and electricity and imo turns people away from this system altogether. -
Jade bots should have more module slots
Setz.9675 replied to Setz.9675's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
It's fair to say the jade bot shouldn't be a bot of all trades but I feel like we are overdue for some QoL changes to the jade bot, that's all. -

I never said players only ever ONLY RIDE MOUNTS or ONLY GLIDE or ONLY FISH. But we all know that something like fishing is something players dedicate a lot of time to once started due to the fishing buff and due to bait/lures people don't collect 3 fish from a node and move on to other activities, atleast not at lv80. I am absolutely lost for words how you managed to misconstrue my original post where I clearly express that I'm against stacking multiple buffs in the same field of use and then claim that I'm one that desires such hyper-optimization. I said a good example of choice are the trait lines, which you instantly turn around and claim that I said trait lines are bad and add things I never said, this is absolutely wild to me. I'm done talking to you -

Basicly this. I find it strange that 10 years ago, magic find on gear was removed because people that used such gear performed less but gained more. In this same vain of thought, people that use the Turtle Siege enhancer do more to progress an event which require the siege turtle but gain less than people with scavenger protocol. A player goes fishing: Gliding booster ZERO VALUE, rescue protocol recharge ZERO VALUE, Skiff Supercharger ONE VALUE, treasure hunter protocol ZERO VALUE, Turtle Pilot booster ZERO VALUE. You see when you go fishing you only get value from the Skiff supercharger and nothing else. So for fishing I have 4 options with ZERO VALUE and 1 option with value. The very basis of making a choice happens when you miss out on something when you pick the other option. A good example are the trait lines we have with our characters. Really feeling it when you pick 1 thing over the other. That doesn't happen with jade bot modules because half of them are extremely niche or bad picks. -

This isn't about agreeing or not but the absolute unwillingness to read past the thread title. I see no point in conversing with people that do not bring forth any semblance of an argument.- 36 replies

People seem to enjoy swapping around jade bot modules, gn.
