  1. I came here looking for what I think is the same thing you're describing. Before the patch, I had post-processing off and had the nice "glow" effect on objects, characters, etc. without the annoying green/red/etc. outlines. Now I either have to have them both (glow+outline) or completely off. Are there any plans to separate them again so we can have the glow/highlight without the colored outlines, or vice-versa?
  2. If you go up the ramp in the NE corner of the start of the instance (before you control your jade bot), to the platform where there are six terminal screens, then around the corner of grey concrete wall, there's an opening in the wall you can go through. It drops you down into an area behind the main area's wall, with no way of getting back out since mounts are disabled. Exiting and restarting the instance was the only way I could escape. 3. Running the GW2 shortcut as admin and adding -windowed to the same shortcut let me in, at least for now. Changed over to windowed fullscreen once the game was running, so we'll see if it sticks...
  4. Mine crashes too, but I got an error window and was able to send the report the first time. I don't have any add-ons or changes to the client, and am running Win10 Home. The second time I tried launching, I got through the launcher, the game window looked like it was going to start like normal, except then it disabled almost all input: keyboard wouldn't work at all, the mouse could move but not click anything, and I could alt-tab and start the task manager but couldn't click anything. A hard system reboot was the only thing I could do.
  5. I've noticed something on two different beta engies. If I'm standing in shallow water (ie where you don't start swimming) and start attacking a baddie, my character will sometimes make attacking animations but no damage is actually done to the enemy. A very small (like 9 hp) green heal does pop up though. It almost feels like server lag, but I don't think it is--If I move around and reposition, eventually my character starts doing damage again. Additionally, standing on land and targeting an enemy in the water works for my weapons, but the mech will often attack in an opposite direction instead of the targeted enemy, or attack in the right direction but way off in the distance. (This was with ranged mech attacks.)
  6. No it isn't: the Vigil achievement is permanent. Only the "Wrath of the..." category is temporary, which is the community bonus one.
  7. Same here. I did three Dragonstorms tonight and broke his bar eight or nine times during them. Only weapon/utility skills, no EMP. Of those successes, only two actually registered for the achievement. This is ridiculous.
  8. I'm on the last bugged step as well: have tried two different characters, multiple maps, got new tool, etc. and nothing's worked.
  9. Fun, thanks for the chance: I'll pick 157 and my character is Niina Lynne.
  10. Thank you for the additional thoughts, folks. Yeah I'd considered that, but I definitely need to switch to Win10 for various reasons and the current system (outside of GW2) is showing its age with some hiccups and hitches here and there. Nothing major, but noticeable enough that I figured it makes more sense to start a new update path--just keeping a few components that I know are still fine--vs. trying to work with the old limitations. Potentially having GW2 run even a little better would just be a bonus. :) Ahh okay, good to know: that's why I'm definitely out of the loop! The GPU status doesn't interest me much, but if the CPUs and boards potentially drop in price, that's a bonus. I'll see what happens with prices in November, thanks.
  11. Thanks for the feedback; much appreciated. Ryzen 5 3600x sounds good, I'm reading good things about it for gaming in general and GW2.I've seen others mention the Tomahawk board so I'll look into it.Like I mentioned, I'm not looking to update the GPU, PSU, or case for now and entering all the old+new components into PCPartPicker says they will run fine on my 550W supply, so I'll be sticking with those.I'm not doing any livestreaming (nor ever will).Yep I'll be installing Win10.I think my biggest concern was how going from the older i5-2500k to a Ryzen 5 would be performance-wise, but from what I gather it should be worth it?
  12. Hi everyone, my current Win7 system has served me well since about 2011, but I'm looking to upgrade and could use some guidance. My current system is listed below; if it makes sense to do so, I'd like replace the CPU, motherboard, RAM, SSD, and install Win10 while keeping the secondary storage HDD, optical drive, GPU (for now), case, PSU, and monitor. I think the GTX 760 might be a bottleneck if paired with a new CPU but given GW2's relationship with CPUs vs. GPUs, I'm okay keeping that for now and potentially replacing it later. Current System (Looking to replace items in itals) CPU: Intel i5-2500k @ 3.3 Ghz w/ stock coolerBoard: GIGABYTE GA-Z68AP-D3 1155 ATXRAM: CORSAIR 8GB 2X4 D3 1600 C9 DIMDrive 1: SSD for OS: Kingston SA400S37/240G (240 GB)Drive 2: HDD for storage and programs: Western Digital WD10EZEX-00WN4A0 (1 TB)Drive 3: Bluray: ASUS BC1-2B1STGPU: MSI Geforce GTX 760Case: Cooler Master Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW ATX Mid TowerPSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G3, 80 Plus Gold 550W Monitor: AOC C24G1 24" Curved Frameless Gaming MonitorOS: Win7-64Fans: One front-lower, one back-middleApart from replacing the PSU and monitor in the past year or two (with what's listed above), I haven't really kept up with hardware specs and what's new and great these days. In doing "Guild Wars 2 hardware upgrade" searches, I see a lot of folks recommending the Ryzen 5 3600. Does that have good single-core results compared to the 2500k while still performing well with other overall functions? If so, I'd just need to figure out a motherboard and RAM to pair with it. That's all I can think of for now, but by all means please ask more questions if needed and I'd be happy to elaborate or expand on this information. Thanks ahead of time, much appreciated.
  13. Hey guys, I stumbled across this thread while working on the same issue. I was able to check and use the correct IP thanks to the cmd instructions Healix.5819 posted and the launcher downloaded the remaining 14k files. Given that it sounds like that IP changes frequently, is this going to be a common occurrence that we'll have to manually enter the IP every time the game patches?
