  1. Nerf core engineer! The worst core of all but not enough!
  2. I like kits but not the way they are implemented, taking a slot in utility skills. They would have been better taking the toolbelt place with 3 or 4 kits on the F bar like elementalist. But they didn't wanted to have an elementalist like mechanic so they gave us toolbelt… My first problem is the fact that they take utility slot and that the devs would never do a big Rework switching toolbelt for kits, so i was proposing a weapon change for being able to have some skills without having to relly on a full kits utility skill bar… But in near 7 years i lost faith on the future of the engineer to be honest. I Don't think the class is getting a big Rework ever...
  3. I liked the way they reworked chrono shatters, more thematically adapted. Also the f5 continuum split was pure power creep so having just 4 shatter would make it more in tune with base/mirage. But why have they remove the personnal shatter on F1 is beyond me… . Make illusionnary persona back!
  4. Heya fellow engi players ! Engineer Always have been guted since release of the game. First they were designed to be heavy armor class but with no Reason go medium tier. They were designed with kits in mind and necessary to be competitive but devs gave them toolbelt.First elite spec was a Failure and kits aren't really good anymore. But the problem is that we still need them coz we have too few skills. The devs are aware of the problem because they gave holosmith a F5 kit, so we could logically think that they know the fact that engineer need kits to be played… But yeah our kits are weak and we have better utility skills ( except turrets). Recently they came with an "out of combat" weapon swap, maybe, if we are extremely positive, it's the start of a true weapon swap. Would it be so hard and unbalanced to give engineer weapon swap? It would at least give us more skills and make us less reliant on kits. Even if we have just rifle on core we have a bit more choice with the elite specs weapons. Revenant have 20 weapons skills, elementalist 25, we have 15 (counting tool belt and no kit) if we had weapon swap we will just have 20... I still Don't understand why we still Don't have weapon swap since the start. What do you guys think? Feel free to discuss about your opinions here. Maybe (we can Always hope) a dev is going to read this and consider it...
  5. I saw the balances notes and jumped on my chair reading the first part of the weapon swap sentence. But it's just an "out of combat" weapon swap… What's the point on this?! When are we gonna have the weapon swap we're asking for years?! Engineer was a bad designed class since the release. If at least we got a weapon swap maybe the class would come to be more fun but anyway… My error was to play this class coz of originality... Turrets are just oblivion, we Don't get new core weapons and we Don't have weapon swap… Well seems like I'm just going to continue to log on just for doing LV world episodes and Nothing more...
  6. Kits would have be the profession mechanic if elementalist wasn't here.. At last that how i see the things, elementalist has attunments giving them 20 weapons skills with f1/f2/f3/f4 and i suppose anet wanted to do Something different for engineer other than kit swapping like elementalist attunements' that's why they have both:-giving kit utilities for engineer-Giving utilites swap for revenants Both was terrible ideas and don't work as well as elementalist attunements' idea. Revenant lack of personnalisation and effectiveness because of that design point and engineer has the same problem too. Kits are central in our class and so, take more of the utilites skills we have but yeah, they take utilites skills and that's the problem. At last engineer has tool belt which give us some utilites for the utilities we have not due to kits being mandatory that's why we perform better than revenant in my opinion but it still that engineer should have been designed toward kits and the fact that is not ruined all the class and engineer is now in a very odd situation as a class with a lot of broken traits and mechanics.
  7. The design of turrets, flamethrower (and kits in general) definitly seems more like a industrial XX century weapon stuff than science-fiction XXII century stuff. So, yeah, engineer is designed beside charr technology. The problem i have with asura commander in general is the fact that, beside asura being a weak but higly intelectual specie, as the commander you are considered like a brute for everyone and it doesn't fit with the asura culture as a whole. In your personnal story you gain the snaff savant title at level 10 but taimi still talk to your asura commander like if you was a child or a norn and nothing in what you say seems to make you more intelligent than a charr, human, sylvari or norn commander. So, asura commander is not really an asura but is a simple brute like any other race. It's a big downside to me i never felt to be an asura in the actual story and with what the commander say and do. That's why, for me, Asura still to be a second rank race. I mean sure they have a HUGE cultural impact (portals, golems, weapons etc...) but they can't really be good soldiers (look at zojia who is a savant and use a golem and taimi who still in the dragon lab all long) and don't fit in a brave and martially unmatched commander place. But, if i must chose a class that will fit the asuran culture it would be elementalist first. Coz asura are magic inventors and a big number of asura are elementalists (including zojia or kudu) but i presume engineer would fit in theme (but the design and weapons used by the profession are definitly charr and so, retro, comparing to asura technology which make a quite odd situation: an asura inventor who use old technology) or even thief (it seems to be a high number of asura scouts or thieves in the order of whispers).
  8. A good option for ranged combat: longbow with some bulley for a more modern look and a lot of Arrow types. Maybe some "sniper" elite spec like team fortress 2 (coz obviously engineer was inspired by this game) with some différents Arrow for some versatility.
  9. Sword offhand. The spec would be named "imperial bodyguard"!
  10. I would like an offhand weapon which can complete mace/staff (obviously a buffed/reworked one) for a pure healing/support spec like the old gw1 monk does (or at last parangon). Guardian lack a pure support spec to my taste (firebrand seems to much oriented to condition damage). After all guardian was designed toward monk/parangon from the original game...
  11. a 10th class? Really? Well it's not like revenant still a beta class and the balance between the class is not perfect at all after all... Actually i would be very hyped for a pure support Monk Elite spec for guardians. I wait for this since the release of gw2.
  12. It's not really Renegade it's the revenant profession in a whole. This class has not pass the beta phase yet (2 years later). That's because herald IS revenant. The whole class was designed toward this elite spec and we are seeing the results of this terrible decision (all others legends are bad and don't fufill the role they have. Jalis fail to tank, Malyx has no identity and his stuck beetween Something like boon corruption, condition eater and condition dealer etc...). The profession need a massive core rework (legends utilities and traits) to be even capable of do Something. But they don't seems to be hurry.
