  1. no, thats not a solution and it doesnt fix the underlying problem. There are too many boons, too many cleanses, too much boon removal. Too much of everything and you want to add more stuff on top more ?
  2. I think the problem here is not damage, it is instead the amount of life you can keep up. Its okay to have bunker builds, but problem is when you deal damage to it and it never dies or just heals itself back to full constantly. There are so many more variables than just damage. Maybe you can icnrease the cooldown of certain abilities or traits. For example, increase the cooldown of the heal skill or increase the cooldown of the trait that heals you for 2k with every dodge roll.
  3. For me, if they dont have a mega pvp and balancing overhaul, im not touching the game again. Im on my last leg with this game.
  4. Removing mechanics, removing build option, removing items, removing maps, removing game modes, removing amulets, and removing things in general will NEVER fix balancing issues in pvp in gw2. They have never addressed any underlying issues in pvp balancing. They instead put a band aid, on top of a band aid, and so on, to fix a gushing wound. The only thing anet should remove in pvp are all the "balance" patches since pre hots.
  5. Exactly, well summarized. We have everything less than we did at the start of the game, which makes 0 sense. its like they WANT the game to dissapear. Do the devs ever read the forums? did all the good pvp devs get fired or quit the company? wtf happened.
  6. revert back to pre hots* otherwise i would be happy with just making the game less spammy and playing like a piano
  7. The devs dont care about pvp and make meaningless changes. Reverse the patch that introduced changes to the elite specs back in hots and ill be happy. Until then if the devs dont fix pvp im not buying EoD and im quitting this game
  8. pvp is not easy to get into. Put yourself in the shoes of a new player that has never played pvp before, and youll never want to play gw2 ever again after 1 pvp game... yeah its thats bad
  9. please.... pvp was so much better before hots. Its just so sad the devs dont give a crap about pvp anymore
  10. Yeah exactly! like one skill giving you 4 buffs, doing condi dmg, power dmg, evade, cc and healing all at once.
  11. Ever since the introduction of elite specs, there has been power creep with every class, but also a complexity creep. Adding more and more stuff to a class doesn't mean it makes it more fun to play or better. In short, GW2 should be easy to learn but hard to master. The game is far from friendly for new players, especially when you reach the pvp and end game pve content. GW2 isn't the only game with this problem. WoW also has these kind of gameplay issues, but in reverse, where the games keeps getting simpler. I think the youtube video by MightyTeapot, which was released a video a couple weeks ago, best summarizes what I think. He perfectly explains this concept and makes a great analogy to chess. This is just me, but I wish GW2 would get a mega profession overhaul to change how class gameplay works. I'm worried this issue will only get worse with the new expansion. I just hope some devs check this video out, because the MightyTeapot explains it so much better than I. Here's a link to the video. I highly recommend you watch it:
  12. Compare the PvE population vs PvP population and you can see how successful it really is
  13. Every time I come back to play this game mode I see that it just keeps getting worse or the problems are cycled through with each patch. Any change that anet makes, fixes nothing about the core issues about pvp. This gamemode is not worth playing anymore and I cant imagine how bad it is for new players. The only way to compete is to be a meta slave and to play the few viable specs. Right now I'm going to meta slave a scourge because all you do is aoe, kill stuff and not die. its very easy to be useful to your team that way. Ill get my pips for this season and never touch this game mode until I'm forced to again. I really think anet killed pvp with elite specs and the power creep that came with them, especially the pof specs. I would start by toning down the elite specs to make them on par with the base game classes, in terms of power. Then I would make sure each spec has its own distinct identity for what it can bring to a fight. For example, scourge should be primarily supporting and doing less damage. Instead of giving each spec multiple possible builds, because then it becomes to difficult to balance. I doubt anet would do anything I mentioned because they are probably worried people wont buy expansion packs due to the elite specs being as strong as core specs. I do criticize this game mode a lot, because it objectively sucks kitten, but I tried to give a solution or a fix it at least. People can tell me how wrong am I as much as you want, but you cant deny that pvp has really bad balancing issues that make it less fun. Theres a good reason the devs themselves make fun of pvp. They know only a fraction of the player base actually plays this game, but i would argue because that's their fault for not making it fun to play and making it imbalanced.
