Separatists count as bandits.

Diessa-Plateau also has lots of bandits. There are several hearts for which killing bandits is on one the objective. I took one char who had maybe half the map left to do and had 100 kills with lots of map left to complete.

I stumbled across that one as well. You need to actually kill critters and get the drop on the character doing the collection. Meat from the storage or from a friend is not counted.
