  1. Hey, my gf and I are exploring MMO options. So far she has played ESO and liked it. I want to see if GW2 might be an even better fit. However, even as a player with about three level 80 toons (warrior, Ranger, Necromancer...yeah I was a solo player) coming back to GW2 seems overwhelming. What is the latest expansion like for new players? I assume I will need to purchase the expansion for us both, but after that is there a character level boost, or do I need to also purchase all the other expansions as well for a new player to get up to speed? I'm hoping I can purchase SOTO for us both, and she will have a smooth path through the story and leveling? What's the process....?
  2. Oh gods...leave me with my boons pleeeeease! I can finally run around open world solo without getting curb stomped 😭 don't make me go back... I might even be able to survive HoT now.
  3. This is built into microtransactions and is part of the psychology of free to play, MT based revenue models. I don't understand it, but Destiny et al do this method.
  4. Challenge should be behind instanced content that persons can dial in their difficulty for. The openworld and questing in particular should be accessible to players solo, or really casual players can get assistance from team mates. I don't think the game is too easy. I played from launch, stopped, came back for PoF...then stopped again. Popped in a while ago on my Reaper. I remember I found PoF very challenging for my Ranger beastmaster character. There have definitely been changes to the Reaper as well because I didn't recall being able to stay in Death mode for that long, but it actually felt better, not worse.
  5. A team has put together builds just for people like you! They are low Actions Per Minute. One of them uses just two buttons, another relies heavily on auto attack. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zFhWosJHG7hubzGJyn0O70GFz-sOlZ4DeIyJYJPUcHI/edit#gid=566070685 Download the spreadsheet to see the actual builds. Check the Video Description for their Part 2. There are multiple builds for each profession (well, about 2 or 3). Hope this helps!!
  6. This actually had me stop playing. Not the Skyscale, but the Griffon which also has a trail of collections that you need to do in order to get the mount. I enjoy the storylines, and playing PVE. I wanted to do HoT after PoF , but I kept reading that the Griffon made that a completely different and better experience. Buuut...that looong collection process just turned me off. It isn't going to be popular, but I'd really just prefer to buy the mounts with Gems or Gold. At this point I want to get back into the game again, but I'm looking at the new grind for the next flying mount and I'm just saying nope. https://metabattle.com/wiki/Guide:How_to_Get_the_Skyscale_Mount like..you can't be serious with this. This is a page of collections. I would even have preferred a series of quests even, with some story around it. This just seems...very lame and cheap busy work to get mounts which they know everyone will want. Just my view, but I wanted to add my voice to this thread on the side of an alternative to the lengthy collection processes
  7. I had the unfortunate experience of literally jumping out of my mission area while chasing down a target. What this means is that the entire mission instance resets and you need to start that instance from scratch. Some of these instances can take more than 30 minutes to go through the entire sequence and battles. You may be downed, might have to restart from checkpoints etc. etc. After going through that, to get kicked and reset because of accidentally leaving the mission area is ridiculous. There should be a hard border , or a pop-up dialog box asking if you want to leave or not. Has this happened to you? especially now that we have mounts that can leap or blink out the mission area in one or two keypresses before you even realise what's happening?
