  1. uuuhhhh you do know that only in the t1-2 matchups there are maybe 50-100 people at any given time? and even then it only during peaktime on friday evening reset. Also you forget one thing, there are 26 worlds indeed but maybe 3 or 4 worlds are alone and all the rest are either linked with one or two other worlds right? On top that in t3/4 you're luckily to run into 5-6others on any borderland if you're roaming, and mostly these are just people that are forced to do it for gift of battle or fast dailies.
  2. just why? it is another bitchslap in the face of legendary raid armor that still isn't fixed for dye slots.Exotic armor is already incredible cheap, unless u need viper but that's more hassle than gold.not being able to swap runes would make statswapping useless af anyway, unless u want that too or get the legendary runes (but at this point ur better of crafting ascended armor).
  3. I'm not denying that Snowcrows have been very useful for the game and especially the raiding community, but I think you're overstating the impact of them moving on. People said exactly the same thing when QT was THE guild that did all the benchmarks and nothing happened. The game is bigger than one or two "top" guilds. Someone else will no doubt take their place and if not, we and the game will survive. yes and what guild is gonna replace SC? when qT quit we had roughly 7-10 HC guilds left, when SC left we have 1 HC guild left but as it is rn they'll most likely quit tho. And a good portion of the good raid sell guilds got/had members of the HC raiding guilds so even sell guilds will slowly die. If you refuse to accept that raids in gw2 are as good as done I feel bad for you. Also qT basically quit a short while after dhuum got released and main reason was burned out with the game, HC and better raiding guilds are leaving rn because anet is failing to provide raids that are worthy of being called raids on top of a just sad and horrible release schedule for a gaming company which is a giant difference. But yes it's anet their decision and right to not cater raids for raiders but people who don't and won't raid, but it's plain wrong to defend and/or accept that decision as a raider and gamer when a gamemode for the 1-5% of a game's population, which had a great welcome with the people it was released for, is just made for people who aren't even interested in end game content after the original release of w1-3 (w4 was a clear sign they didn't want difficult raids because they didn't care for gameplay or challenging content, but instead only for good reviews and easy money).
  4. DW guys, the people who use arc dps will gradually quit anyway once erp is done. Likewise for the people who spend easily 100hrs+/class grinding and finding new builds for us to use in raids and fractals after every big balance patch, so people will never have to worry what they run is meta or good anymore. No meta builds for raids => no meta comp => way harder for below avg players to do raids => a giant outcry that raids are to hard with no actual raiders defending raids difficulty => anet nerfing raids like they nerfed HoT => People will be able to raids like they do world bosses by spamming 1 and ignoring mechanics => they're happy because they are deluded they think they're not garbage players because they managed to kill a "raid" (w7 is a clear example of how hard they nerfing raids already :/ ) Sadly this isn't a joke or sarcasm, but feels like raids will be down by roughly 75-80% of the decent and better pugs by the end of 2019.
  5. You don't like random pugs u meet in 250LI groups that somehow as a power DH got more than 1300Toughness and when u ask them they show 0 communication and just straight up ignore you? How dare u wanting to kick such players! /s But to add to your reasons for me personally I also use it:5) To see if I didn't forget to change a piece of gear, happened frequent I had 2 power trinkets instead of viper.6) to see how my boonuptime is when playing chrono, or how the chrono their boonuptime is.7) the mechanic addon requires arc, no fun having people wipe the group with mechanics in the end. For example dhuum, two players are shackled and only one moves but you don't see name of who has the shackle too cause in stack. You can find out what person just killed some people and most likely has no clue about all mechanics if it happens twice or three times in a row.8)Not related to raids, but removing those incredible annoying event and achievement panels in the top right corner. I don't care dragons bash is going on or which dailies it are.9)for the FPS, ping and refresh numbers are neat to see if/when you get some spikes and like the look better of it then the nvidea fps shower.10) If you're in a static, logs to see how you compared to other weeks is really helpfull and shows a better/more in depth fight details for burst, movement of players, etc.. and think that are all, and ngl i can't live wo any of them anymore.
  6. asks is the boss is too hard.. knows it's listed as an easy boss.. But to answer why u don't see as much w6b1 LFG's compared to largos or qadim is because largos is a pug wiper and a great portion of squads disband during or after largos so people gotta pug it. And being able to do CA shows nothing related to being able to do largos, CA you basically have no real dps and awereness check on your dps players but on largos you have both a decent dps check and hard hitting mechanics that easily kills/downs players and having one fully dead before last platform is 99% chance to wipe in pugs. Also most groups that do CA just say full w6 because they mostly wanna do all 3 bosses in one go, if you already did a boss you have to specify so not that someone joins hoping for full wing and suddenly it's only last boss.
  7. I think people just don't like the tool because it allows others to hold them accountable for their bad DPS which makes it harder to leech. That's a glaring oversimplification. Some people don't like the tool because they feel it infringes on their privacy. Like people not wanting their mails read even though their is nothing of importance in them. I mean privacy matters as long as you're not negativily impacting others, on top that ANET clearly said arcdps is allowed and your damage is not private. Also your mail example is a very good example indeed, raids you can basically compare to a group project by 10 people and your dps is basically any mail you send related to making advancement in your group project so it's very important you send this mail in CC to your project partners so they can see if you formatted it correctly AND any reply on the mail is also directly send to them. You're correct that any mail not related to this project is private and people have the right to not know them, these are your private information like account value, liquid gold, what achievement you did, your gear etc.. But basically as soon as you enter a squad, you made a mail link connected with everyone else in the squad that openly shows your dps and boons, also what mechanics you failed in raids/fractals. Raids are not solo content, so people should stop acting like it's 10 man solo content where it doesn't matter how much effort and performance you give.
  8. using dps meters in pugs saves a lot of time tho. Is it a guild run and people do bad dps? that's an insta leave, happened a lot when I joined random pug groups of arma and similar guilds where their highest dps was barely half mine. Saved me a lot of failed attempts cause I saw they lied about their LI requirement after one attempt and joining a new raid is faster than staying in a bad pug. Is it a full random pug and 2 dps players are doing way worse? Mention it to commie and if next try it happens again and wipe again, kick them and replace by people who didn't lie about their experience. Two tries and saved the time of 8 other people by removing two leeches instead of wiping wo knowing who causes it and having the full group disbanden. But also using it in your static helps saving time, both in exp and new statics.Sometimes you want to try a new or more advanced strat, but to start let's say a new people static tries to do fast cc, no updraft gorse but fails. Without arc dps they have no real way of knowing howmuch dps they're exactly missing and it helps to find out if one person has to put in more effort, because if you're in a static where all but one dps does 80% of in raid, so not golem, benchmark and the other guy does 40-45% it'll get frustrating for everyone else if that guy doesn't put in the effort to improve and you're able to help him figure out what he does wrong. For more advanced statics, they could try for 2-3 shrooms sloth, throne tanking dhuum, tanking last phase on the side at xera for even less moving and even stuff like one healer for all bosses. All of these tactics require a certain group dps, like above just knowing howmuch % you're slower doesn't help anything close as a dps meter would help. After a few pulls you'll find out where you have to pick up the pace, how the boons were distributed and all. You'll be able to progress way faster with arcDPS than wo. So I said how arcDPS does infact save time for both pugs and statics, now can u please say how running wo arcDPS would save time in these enviroments?
  9. Now, I'm not going to go into a deep argument over this but there are situations for each build and you just completely dismissed them for staff tempest. For example, "utility/boons>raw heal output" immediately falls short if everyone is dead. The OP is seeking advice for getting started which means he's likely going to be joining groups with other inexperienced players. Will they need staff healing tempest? Maybe, maybe not. Sure, maybe I could hard carry a clueless group on Cairn as a sc/wh heal tempest but it's a hell of a lot easier and I really mean a hell of a lot easier for me to do so as a staff heal tempest. Double Geyser res every 13-16 seconds is nothing to laugh at. It actually keeps the bad players alive. Heck, in my opinion, there are more situations where staff heal tempest can be used than a warhorn build simply because if your group is good enough that it doesn't need the healing from staff tempest to kill a particular boss then it's not going to be hindered by having one either. That's the beauty of these so called "wheelchair builds". the only reason someone should fully die when rezzing is allowed is cause of one shot mechanics tho, but yeh guess staff tempest has some uses in horrible groups where noone knows you're allowed to press F to rez, sidestep obvious damage and pay some attention to mechanics. But yeh, I'm 100% against hard carrying nubs and forgiving them to fail mechanic after mechanic. In training runs it literally teaches them way less than to wipe and start over and discuss what they failed and how to overcome it, In exp pug runs I'll just leave if I the squad dies two or three times cause of same reason and commie doesn't bother fixing the problem (low dps players, same people failing mechs). But in the end everyone can play what they want with, just wanted OP know d/wh tempest healer is easier to find exp pugs with and being usefull in those squads.
  10. I wouldn't run staff healer tempest, while tempest is an amazing healer you're way better off running d/wh because here you give some more utitility and in worst case if your druid dies or is for some reason bad at might stacking you're able to keep 25might with the help from chronos and some firefield blasts. Staff is just 95% only healing which isn't good in raids imo because utility/boons>raw heal output when you run two healers.
  11. This is the correct mentality for people who want to raid. The only people who are against arc are people who don't want to improve or put any effort into raids so hate any tool that proves they're not pulling close to their weight. And that's the biggest thing they forget, the three things that get you started in raids is effort, acceptance (know when you fuck up and have to improve, you're not a god player from week/month1) and honesty. But welcome in the raiding community, we're nicer than the others deep down.
  12. I mean 2k is okay, but if you near 5k less you're basically 15-30% less on most bosses. If you take dhuum for example you're nearing 33-50% less. So yes ~2k loss/diff can be cause of mechanics but on vast majority of the bosses being 5k+ below other dps means you're pulling them down. Idek if image shows, but was a 250li+ kc i ran on sunday as power BS, the lowest dps was 5k below me, but in reality ALL should've been 2-8k above me. so yeh if we wiped it was 100% the fault of the dps players not being able to properly play their class on a golem boss where you don't get cucked with random mechanics.https://prnt.sc/o91ycc
  13. No but Fractals and Raids are completely different. Fractals are built with mechanics that deal damage, Raids have mechanics that instantly kill you. Fractals at higher tiers add new instabilities, Raids will do what? Remove mechanics from the easier mode? I already said that already happens in Raids as most raid bosses start with a small subset of mechanics and gradually add more. Even casual/chill groups can beat these just fine, why "nerf" them? edit: I'm curious what kind of change do you believe an easy mode "Green Guardian" trash mob would have? knowing that no people in the green circle with protection does like 90% of ur hp, I guess they want if noone is in the green circle it does max 50% of ur max hp, maybe even less. But idk how that helps teaching raids.
  14. yh the thing is, people that come and bitch/whine here about toxicity and saying people are mean cause their low dps ALWAYS forget to tell the true story, they don't bother telling they fucked up and caused a wipe, they don't bother to tell they actually joined an exp group and faked their li/kp (which happens often). in 1.7k LI the only times I saw people being mean towards low dps is when they're literally below half the normal dps the rest is doing, but when you point that out they all ignore it and keep refusing to accept the fact actual raiders aren't toxic but just fed up with this type of players that doesn't want to put in the effort and basically wants to get a free carry wo paying for it. And just look at this thread all the people that are against arcDPS are people that didn't do cm's or raids more than once or twice and then gave up.
  15. Mainly depends on instabilities and which titles you have in the end tho. But even average teams can do 100/99cm and 100/99cm are not really that hard wo a healer tho, the impact of phasing bosses faster with properly timed aegis and cc makes half the fights literally golems that aren't doing anything is enormous. It's enormous to phase bosses in 10-15secs instead of 20-30s. Normal t4's can be a pain because of the dozens of adds that spawn.
