  1. I am really starting to believe the Dev's are afraid of success.
  2. I pretty much only take the room temperature challenge in Fractals, Raids, and Strike missions. Honestly once you have a properly spec'ed toon and are comfortable with them, most open world mobs, including champions should not be to much an issue. However though I have been with GW since Beta GW1, note, personally, the hardest mob to stay alive to... your team mates.. I'm looking at you Overlook. And as someone said before, having a defensive build can actually hurt you more then a more glassier one, for instance in Fractals, doing enough damage bypasses the more harmful effects, same goes for strike missions. As well knowing what you are up against, and what you can tank, and when to act defensive, classes all have some sort of evade/block, and understanding the enemy more and what they are capable of will help more in the future. It truly is a game of checks and balances, which imo is kinda nice, makes you think even if at first it is annoying.
  3. What a sanctimonious post, think kids are the only thing to bind ones time? And to think kids can be "managed" for your own desires? Sigh, lemme inform you some folks here, like myself, don't have 2 hours to spare very often, and as well don't have kids, however myself being in the US Military kind of limits my engagements and time frames to even enjoy a hour by myself quite often, specially the last few years, but since you know, ....everything is so easy to manage, I should just tell my CO not to call me after 8pm till 7am right? From the meta events in the past leading to this mangled mess, all before have been very doable and not requiring 2 hours + time to setup, for only to either fail with nothing to show or even winning and reaping mediocre rewards at best. This isn't a "Hey, get gud and manage your time better pleb" thing, its a legitimate concern that has very abruptly strayed from pervious norms. Innovation is nice, and pushing the boundaries is welcome, but should be a gradual step, and not abrupt, specially considering this is not a raid encounter, it is a open world event. Closing, I do believe, and I can only state the case from my own POV, the biggest seller perhaps from this expansion was the mount, that allowed you and a friend to work together, and the E-Specs are nice too. I am glad that more people will now be able to acquire the mount now, however this issue could of been avoided from the start, had more fore thought been applied. But alas, it is what it is, guess we should just all get on a schedule for a "video game" in order to "enjoy" it. I will ask my CO not to call me late at night, I will post later the results.
  4. Well, I finally dipped my toes into this "Meta" from kitten. Anet... yall are crazy. What is crazier is I found the 2 hours and 10 mins!! to try it, without my CO calling yet again. That much time.. seriously? I get its end game, you want it to be spectacular and whatnot but that time frame is a bit much, however.. can be dealt with I suppose. Now the actual end fight with Soo Won, is a hot pile of [redacted]. I got the rotation down, knew where to stand, learned very quickly what to do with the wisps, never went down, only a few people actually did and I would say our DPS was overall decent, but that's the problem, it was only decent. These folks are not raiders Anet, and I would hazard a guess that this is more raid-ish in delivery and is completely turning folks away. I see about 1 maybe 2 groups even trying for this, and honestly I think those coms are doing to help people get the Turtle that you locked behind this .. from a couple of the coms I talked to, they are saying its almost more or less RNG of Soo Won's rotation then the DPS from the group. What?! Oh well, I can shelve this till Anet, (which knowing them I doubt), doing something about this, or, till I have more time to beat my head against a wall for the slug fest since current events are keeping me away, you know the whole world might blow up thing.
  5. Reading ten pages on something I just stumbled onto, I can say this... I haven't even gotten to the last map or even tried the meta, but if it is going like this, kitten with it. Being in the military I don't have all the time in the world (specially now), to RNG my way to a mount or even success for a meta event. Shame too, I wanted the turtle so me and my SO could mess about on the little bit of time I have.
  6. Ran this now 20 times in a row, hit a wall everytime jumping threw the window. Need proof Anet? I can record and show you it. Pissing me off
  7. I may be a sadist, but I would like, (and this is personal taste), GW1 style mobs. That took skill, pull just right, HAD to have a team, (b4 heros grumble grumble), and strategize. I love GW2 and like its little quirks, but mobs IMO are fine as they are, if anything add a few more. With mounts now its all to easy to get around, and with the skill tree our toons have, I dare say easy to overpower most mobs with a little patience. I am not going to say this is a L2P issue, but I will say that GW2 as it sits now with the enemies we face, it has a decent balance for a more casual game of its caliber.
  8. Little something somethinghttps://imgur.com/kjiylfu <---- full size image
  9. Just throwing this out there, I did Raids, got pretty good at them, static group and all, got what I needed... and for this thread up to where I am responding now, reading all of it.... is EXACTLY why I stay the kitten away from raids now. "2 cents"
  10. I was one of the few that already had map currency and was basically only halted due to time gating. That being said, after acquiring the mount I can say in my own "personal" view.... kitten thing wasn't worth it. Just something to sell skins and make people grind dead maps.
  11. Honestly, I appreciate everyone being passionate about balance changes, but I don't see why we even waste our breath. They are going to kill off classes on by one till nothing is left but a mere shell of what once was. They do not comment in profession forums and seem not to care at all about how some classes/builds are abused. This upcoming patch is further proof of this, and apparently they have been playing a different version of Chronomancer since now the class is almost useless compared to others and after this patch I don't see the need for one anymore.... GG Anet... GG.
  12. Lets face it, and has just been proven to me recently, people are way hyper sensitive to everything now a days it seems. Anything that might criticize, or show the slightest hint of disdain towards something is shot down, regardless of its intent. That being said, as far as in game commentary goes, I never noticed anything wrong with it and won't till maybe they add in the Late George Carlin.... then maybe there might be a reason.
  13. This.... this right here is one of if not the biggest problem in PvP/WvW, and if people are to blind/stubborn to see the bigger picture, then, well let the whole thing burn and rest on Anet's shoulders. This balance ..... if you can call it that, across the board, all classes, is terrible. It is driving people away, making it so new people, PEOPLE that add to the numbers of populations, that let Anet know interest is being shown, is dwindling faster then people coming in. These one trick ponies are exactly that, one trick, and a bit annoying. However the bigger issue at hand is how does this look, say to someone who just got there gear, grind mats, checked for builds, goes out hoping to get a good match and roam/follow tag.... then BAM, one shot tap dancing (insert profession here) on you... WELCOME TO WVW/SPVP. So they dust themselves off, say whatever, head back out, then BAM again, this time they never even saw the person. After about 45 min's, and only about 15 min's actually playing with a team, there original goal... they gave up. No, it wasn't me, was a close friend I tried getting into the game. Now they msg to talk on DC but refuse to give GW2 the time of day, even gave me my money back... suppose that's the bright side of the train wreck. And veterans are feeling the same way, 3200 toughness and pop pop down, mounts that make engaging either easier, or impossible. And for a new person, 95% impossible, and good luck staying with the group. But that all aside, I do believe Anet has shown their level of competency, non surprising after years of neglect towards the game modes. Nothing will change, and if indeed something does change, it will either be minor, or break more then it fixes. I myself will continue trucking along, as a GW1 vet that has a lot of passion for this game, however even myself, is losing faith in what is being delivered.
  14. The silence from the devs is deafening. I think they have made there point clear. Sad
  15. Heck at this point I would be ... can't say happy, but just a little bit hopeful/surprised if they said ANYTHING.... This games communication is unbelievable.
  16. I share your sentiment and agree whole heartedly, however if anything you should know about Anet, communication is not a strong suit. They would rather boast there own ego's then admit something is wrong. I suggest as i have to many others, and to me as well, not to take this up here in the forums anymore, this is getting out of hand. I'm going directly to NcSoft and petitioning a "no confidence" in the dev team.
  17. Testing.. surely you jest.
  18. Honestly, I would be surprised if the so called "devs" said a word about this. People have legitimate complaints however unless you are nothing but sunshine and lolly pops to them, they will "rarely" answer, like really rare. They don't take criticism well, communication with its base is almost non-existent and honestly with this last batch of "why did you do this?", I'm about to start raising a stink with NcSoft since Anet won't say a word. Not on reddit, not on twitter, heck not even on twitch if you ask the question, "nicely mind you", will they answer. BUT you will get banned.... for asking the question, "Why did you change Chrono so much that now its function in the game is so broken people can't even compete anymore? ie CM and Raids" Things need to change, or this is just the start of you "Anet" playing Russian Roulette with your game.
  19. F pressed so hard my f key is now stuck
  20. @Hectorim Sears.1479 said: That 1 second is the difference between a good dodge and a distort or eating a rapid fire. But hey, this is Anet, and Im almost certain the balance team don't even play the game, or least seems like they don't. These changes/nerfs to classes/specs is more just "to do something" rather then "do something productive". That's all I'm going to say on it.
  21. "Dry" Shattering is important to some, and in some situations absolutely necessary. Take this for example, pre nerf, you could distort off yourself, so say you have a ranged class on you "ie Ranger", and your reflect is on cool down, and of course, ANET loves their rangers so you know Longbow hits way further then tool tip. What do? Pre Nerf, you could distort, buy time, get cover, heal, kite, etc. But now that it is solely dependent on clones, guess who's range wins? Say you could get a clone off, those clones die at stubbing a toe. This makes us more or less sitting ducks unless we pull some clones off, time it, shatter it, and hope that did the job cause the second we shatter them, we need to repeat that that entire PROCESS to even get some sort of cover/defense/attack again since it is now 100% tied to only shattering. In short, killed the class, er, spec.
  22. Thanks for the info. I was going to log in to try the new shatters guess I don't need.It seems like: hey we removed IP and distortion and in return we gave you new even worse shatters.I wonder why I still bother with ANerf. What is worse is knowing them they will ride this train all high and mighty and won't do a thing to change it till a paid expansion comes out.
  23. This change was ill thought out and not necessary. NOTHING about IP was OP or Broken, it gave Mesmers a way to cleanse and a defensive option while still being viable in the current game. Now waiting for clones, "ie more time wasted" then timing a shatter "ie Very Small Window since clones die to a SNEEZE" to proc anything as you are being used as a punching bag? Seriously? My faith in the devs and there ability to balance even in a half way semblance of a competent team is dwindling fast.
  24. I actually have zero lag in wvw, and yes I do run it on full graphics even with a reshade to tone down the color a little, all sync'ed @60. Course my computer is anything but ordinary as is my Internet. However, even though I can pull this feat off, it does however make my 5ghz i7 with custom loop cooling run warmer then anything else I do on it, more then likely due to how GW2 uses more CPU then either of my 2 2080's or the 32 gigs of ram. That being said I would love to see the engine get a once over and brought more "up to date", but I also understand that the ability to do that might be a bit much for now. But who knows, perhaps they are trying to better optimize it with the hopefully soon "alliance" system for WvW.
  25. I could see it now, lvl 20 out harvesting a node, blue gear on, and suddenly from out of nowhere a rainbow colored griffin comes out of the blue and the guy on it one shots you then dances on your body like he did something cool. Yeah, that would fly about as well as a lead balloon. Keep PvP and PvE separate, Anet could spend the time it would take to implement that on much more productive things like LS or an Expansion.
